Poor Pathetic Project and BLOG CANDY!

DSCF6586

This little project is just so sad….so lacking in embellishments, so plain….it makes me cry. It has such potential, but I just am lost!!   The JUGS challenge #17 was to make something with a template.  So I used Lauren’s Cutesy Cover Template, which is really cute, but I had two problems.  #1, I could not come up with some better embellishments for the outside, and #2, I don’t know what to put INSIDE!!!  Take a look:

DSCF6585

I love the Cosmo Cricket paper; I love the Crafty Secrets images; I love the corduroy button, the nestie and the grosgrain…..but I feel that it just needs something more!  And for the inside…the outer dimensions are 3”x3.75”, so I need something smaller than that to tuck in this little cutie.  So what do you think?  I need some suggestions!  If you leave me your ideas, and I think they’re super, you could win this:

A new Melanie Muenchinger “Cuddles & Hugs” set!!  Along with some other surprises I’ll round up from my ever-growing stash of goodies!  So get thinkin’---leave me a comment with your ideas by Thursday, February 4 at 11 pm, and Friday morning, I’ll pick my favorite!  PLEASE leave me a way to get in touch with you…..if I can’t contact you, I can’t let you know if you’ve won!!!!!  And sorry, I can only ship to US & Canadian addresses!

Now, when I look at it, I think if you add something to it, you may cheapen it. I think it looks awesome the way it is! I don't know why, but the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it, was hershey kisses to fill it with. Regardless, I love it the way it is. It doesn't need anything else!

I think this box is adorable as is, but if I made it, I think I'd be adding either tiny gemstones or stickles to the flower centers on the image, and they'd be sparkly red to coordinate with the red dots on the DP. As for the inside, how about making coupons. For instance "this coupon good for one back rub" or "this coupon good for one night out for dinner" etc. If it's for a child, I'd fill it full of those little heart candies with valentine sayings :)
Great job on this box!

I think the box is beautiful just the way it is but to add a little bling maybe add some Stickles to the red dots in the designer paper. Fill it with a gift certificate and some yummy Dove chocolate hearts.

Lots of different things would fit inside, Bath Fizzies, those flower brooches everyone is making, many different candies, a necklace...

I thought the out side of the box was nice as is.

When in doubt, back up and punt! It looks (through my monitor) as if the red on the large circle isn't very bright. So what if you added liquid laminate? It would intensify the color and add some much needed shine to pop it up.

Pathetic? Are we lookin' at the same project, LeAnne?!? I think this is fantastic!

This darling l'il box is the perfect size for storing Artist Trading Cards! ATC's measure 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 ... so they'd fit in here perfectly!

Have a great weekend, Kiddo!

Oh I think your box is very sweet! I am not one for massive embellies, so I like it! The only thing I seem to add to everything is glitter! You should fill it with conversation hearts! Yum!

I love it just the way it is!!! For the inside, I'd prefer some Dove chocolates :)

You are your worst critic! I think it looks good the way it is. Not everything has to be perfect in your eyes to be perfect in mine :) I say keep it the way it is.

CUTE little box!
I like it, the colors are HAPPY!
I would fill it with some Peanut M/M's, to be a little 'nutty'.
I would add some Crystal Effects to the little flowers...love that stuff!
I think you could also add some kind of little white flower/s to the top left of the round embellishment??
Maybe a red rhinestone center to that?
Just needs a little shiny/sprakly bit of something, huh? But, it is cute just like it is, too.

Good luck! It will be fun to see what you end up doing with it...
Oh! And, the little giftie you are giving is pretty dang cute, too! hehehe

What are you talking about? This is a super little box. Everything that is there has the look of purpose, not just that it has been thrown together for the sake of the challenge.
You could put a deck of cards or a small pack of tissue or some candies, {hershey kisses cinnamon hearts}

What?! This is super cute! The only thing I might add is some bling--tiny pearls or rhinestones on the flower centers...or even on the dots on the patterned paper. Now for the inside--candy is always a good option, but a little pad of Post-Its would fit perfectly...Target usually has cute ones in their $ bins.

LeAnne LeAnne LeAnne! Whatsa matter with ya girl? This box is darling just the way it is. But if you just have to add something you can always go with gems or Crystal Effects to add a little shine. What to put inside - the sky's the limit! ATC, coupons, small cards --- but when in doubt there's always CHOCOLATE!!

Leanne, you are being extremely tough on yourself girl! This is fantastic and I really like it just they way it is! Love the colors! I like the idea of using it as a gift card holder...and chocolates are always a hit too! :)

The outside is lovely. Maybe you could add some tiny pearls in the flower centers, but it's really not necessary. As for the inside, you can't miss with chocolate!

Well I love it as is (like all your projects) so I had to study it intently to think of any improvements. My only thought was to add some type of dimension to the flowers. Maybe stamp them again, snip them out and pop them up, or a brad to their centers perhaps? Or make them blue like the paper!
That's all my ideas on a Saturday morning. As for filling it I'm always a fan of candy, but what about filling it with something fun to make cards with. Buttons are always fun!

This is beautiful just the way it is. I think one of your pretty pins would be great inside. I guess you could turn the button into a flower but I really like it the way it is.
I like Melanie Muenchinger stamps. Did you get the set thought Stamp TV? How so people get the things they give away?

It love it the way it is!!! You have sweet looking DP, layers, shapes, texture on the button, etc. And your ribbon is the perfect touch. You could fill it with Hershey Hugs and decorate them by stamping mailing labels with coordinating colors and wrap around each candy!

Then you have a coordinating box and candy!!! :)

You are crazy, LeAnne! Your project is adorable!!! Sometimes CAS is the way to go, and I think this turned out beautifully with your CAS design! GORGEOUS!!! Tuck some M&Ms inside...peanut butter, then drive to Alexadria and drop them off at my house :] You can ship the stamp set to the real winner...I just want the box!!

I think you're crazy, girlie! That box is adorable!!!

Cute box. Only thing I might add is a little bling (rhinestones, glitter, Crystal Effects). As far as what to put inside besides candy, I'd suggest yard of ribbon, buttons or embellishments for other crafters. Another idea is jewelry (earrings, necklace) or gift tags. Thrilled to have a chance to win your blog candy!
