HSS324 and CAS341 Just A Note

Happy Monday, peeps!  It's a lazy day today; the weather here has been fabulous, but today it's cloudy and gray, but it's kind of nice for a change...it would be nice to actually get some rain!  But I digress....it's time for a quick card, using the Hand Stamped Sentiments color palette and a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I had this retired set, Wishing You Well, with the thoughts of making a different card with it, so I challenged myself to use it with these colors:

I stamped the sheaf with Grapefruit Grove and the florals on top with Terracotta Tile, then added some tiny Mint Macaron berries and a Terracotta Tile bow.  I also stamped a sentiment in Pretty Peacock.  Before adhering the bow, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder:

Just to bring in a wee bit more of the Pretty Peacock, I took a strip of cardstock and embossed it with the stitched die from Nesting Labels and ran it behind the area where the sentiment would be:

Finally, a birthday greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday on the inside, because I am notorious for forgetting the inside sentiment and then when I go to mail out the card, it's not ready!  So a little Pretty Peacock and Mint Macaron, and it's good to go:

So happy you popped in today!

A little farming activity from last week:

I get a little sad when I see the farmer that rents my dad's land....it reminds me of my own dad, when I was little, out doing the same thing.  Only, he didn't have a big fancy tractor like this one, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP461 Tic Tac Toe Halloween

Hi everyone, happy Sunday!  I hope you're having a great weekend so far!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week and since it's a fifth Sunday, it's a Tic-Tac-Toe!  Lots of great choices in this one, perfect for your fall or Halloween stamping!  So here we go:

For my tic-tac-toe row, I chose the middle row across:  orange, die-cut and Halloween!  I pulled out some of my favorite Halloween sets (I have SO many) and went to work!  These stamps and papers are from Close to My Heart, and I used some retired SU products as well!

I began by stamping the fence in Memento black, using my Stamparatus to line them up!  I stamped some swirly background images, then added my little ghost, shaded with Blends, and a few glimmer bats!

Next, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the cat in Memento Black, then cleaned my stamp and inked it up again with Versamark ink, then heat embossed it with black embossing powder to get a really dark image!  I love how it really stands out on top of the fence!  I added a glimmery spider web, and in hindsight, I should have added a little black spider!

But the most fun part of this card is that it is kind of interactive...when you open it up, this pops up!  My hostess  yesterday wanted to make a card that had some action, so this is the card I designed, only ours used SU products (I'll share that one later).  Again, these sentiments are all from CTMH, the "BOO!" diecut is from a past SU die, cut in Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper:

Here's a side view of the pop-up part...it's really easy to do, if anyone needs directions, I'll try to make up a little tutorial  Here's another view:

I hope you'll play along with us at the Players...you don't have to make a Halloween card, as you can see by the creations the design team came up with...there is a wide variety of styles!  Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see them and share yours with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Eden, all decked out in her Eagles' jersey, looks like she is saying "Don't bother me!"

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Deer Silhouette Christmas

Happy Saturday, all!  I have a very quick card to share today, as I have a stamp party and am looking forward to seeing my crafty friends!  This card uses Amy's sketch from FMS:

and the color palette from a new-to-me (thanks to Vicky) challenge, Rainbow Card Challenge:

I've been pushing these diecut deer around my desk for weeks, trying to decide what to do with them, and when I saw the challenges, I knew I could combine them!  The deer are cut from Early Espresso; I mounted them on a diecut oval DSP, then I adhered them to a piece of Kraft cardstock and a Very Vanilla card base:

It's hard to see, but I stamped a few pine boughs at the top left and bottom right and sponged the edges for a rustic look.  I stamped a sentiment in Soft Suede and it was done!  I love how the porous fibers in the Kraft cardstock give it a rustic look!

And in honor of my friend Vicky, who is a guest designer today at Addicted to CAS, I am playing along there as well, as their challenge is "Creature":

Thanks for popping in today--be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge, too!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI210 Fall Get Well

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, it's the end of the week and I will be stamping with some friends tomorrow!  But today, it's time for another As You See It challenge....I love these combo challenges!  So here we go:

No photo description available.

I used lots of diecuts and an assortment of prints for my card today!!  I just started cutting some things out, laid them out on a background and here's what I came up with:

My papers are from Authentique's Pleasant collection, and I diecut some Lawn Fawn stitched leaves (my absolute favorite set of leaf dies!) in Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.  I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to make the frame and sentiment panel, and a tag punch to create the tag.  I added some Lost Lagoon twine, tied with  Linen Thread, and if you can see on the tag as well as the bottom portion of the background panel, I stamped a couple of wheat stalks from a (really) old SU set called Autumn Days:

For a final embellishment, to coordinated with the dots on the tag, I added three Candy Dots to match the plaid frame.  On the inside of my Crumb Cake card, I stamped a sentiment from Close to My Heart, and I added a few more leaves:

The design team has come up with some amazing samples as well, so be sure to check them out and get some inspiration, so you can play along too!  Share your goodies with us at As You See It!

Cassidy made Dana "dessert"....which consisted of a bowl of Cool Whip and one strawberry, LOL!  I guess it's the thought that counts!  Eden thought it looked good too!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB91 Autumn Picnic

Hi peeps!  It's Thursday and that means Inspired By day!  Woohoo!  I have lots of stamps that would fit our challenge today, but in the end I decided on some real oldie-but-goodies!  Here we go:

And here is Laurel's photo inspiration....I am getting hungry just looking at it!  Isn't this tailgate party setup cute, with those retro thermoses and cool picnic basket?  And the FOOD!  I am sure you'll find some inspiration in there too!

First, I needed a sketch, so I went to the Try Stampin On Tuesday blog and this is what I found--perfect!

I pulled out an old Papertrey set called Vintage Picnic and stamped the pumpkins on some Very Vanilla paper and the picnic basket on some new Wrapped in Plaid DSP.  The images were colored and shaded with Blends:

I even added a couple of gold pearl embellishments for the hinges!!  I stamped a Crumb Cake mat with the Flannel background stamp, and the Mossy Meadow card base was stamped with the Linen background stamp...I told you there were some oldie-but-goodie stamps being used!  Finally, I stamped a sentiment from PTI's Vintage Picnic Sentiments on a diecut banner and assembled it all together!

And since Lil' Red Wagon's challenge this week is "fall it", I am submitting this to theirs as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  I hope you'll play along with our "tailgate" challenge this week...can't wait to see what you create!  Be sure to pop over to Inspired By to see the lovely creations the DT made as well!

Eden and Ginger are finally pals!!  They enjoyed some outside time last week:

Just Checking On You

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Hope you're doing well today!  I have a little encouragement card for a sweet young lady at our church.  We are participating in a prayer challenge, where all the adults are praying for school-age children.  My wee one happens to be the granddaughter of my high school trig teacher!  She is as sweet as can be and smart as a whip, too!  Anyway, I made this card for her and will write a few encouraging words inside to let her know I have been praying for her!  It uses Check You Out:

This card fulfills a few challenges too:  the Fab Friday colors and the Try Stampin On Tuesday sketch:

The colors threw me a little, but since there are several elements in the set that could be stamped in different colors, that's what I did...the owl is Cajun Craze, the books are all four colors, and I used the Pretty Peacock for the background:

I added a Mint Macaron border, diecut from the Seasonal Layers dies, and the hearts were cut from the retired Wood Words dies.  I even gave Mr Owl a little bow tie of Blackberry Bliss twine, and the twine at the bottom of the card is some Mint Macaron from a past Paper Pumpkin kit!

I am also entering this in the Festive Friday Inspo board:  I used blue (Pretty Peacock), orange (Cajun Craze), hearts and encouragement theme:

Thanks so much for popping in today!

This is what happens when your human mom just can't help covering everything in sight with something crocheted!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RetroRubber 120 Vintage Halloween

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Well, yesterday was the first day of fall and it certainly didn't feel like it!  The stink bugs were back in full force; they just love the heat and they were covering the screens and trying to fly into the house....I despise them.  Hopefully the cooler weather will be here soon and make them all go AWAY.  Anyway, it's time for another Retro Rubber Challenge---it's an "Anything Goes"!  Yay!  They are a double-edged sword...fun, but what to do, what to do?  In the end, I chose to do a vintage Halloween card!

Image may contain: text

I am a sucker for vintage Halloween images...I think they remind me of my dad and his era; he and my grandmother would tell us how they dressed up (with my grandmother taking out her false teeth--gross) in old clothes or homemade costumes!  Anyway, I have to rein myself in from buying every sticker, every 12x12 paper, every stamp set that resembles vintage Halloween!  Last year, I did treat myself to a little 6x6 pad from Authentique called Nightfall, and I used a few of their images on my card today:

These little 1 1/2 x 2" pictures are so cute together....I simply trimmed them from the 6x6 piece and layered them on a piece of spooky cobwebby paper and added a sentiment and some sparkly stars:

The sentiment is from Rubbernecker, Halloween #1, and the closest I can find is that it is from around 2009.  I know I've had it for a while!  I stamped it on a scrap of DSP I had in my stash, then diecut it with a Nested Label die and added some black glimmer paper to the back.  For fun, I stamped a witch silhouette on top:

On the inside of my Naturals White card, I stamped another sentiment, added a spooky tree and a trio of bats:

I am pretty sure I got this set from my stamping friend Broni....so glad she shared it with me!  Now...what will you create with your older stamps?!  Remember, they must be at least a year old, and you must tell us the age!  Then share your creation with us at the Retro Rubber blog!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
