AYSI 361 Speed Stamping Apples

Happy Friday, peeps! It's time for the oh-so-fun Speed Stamping challenge at As You See It!  A little tongue-in-cheek, but I do enjoy challenging myself to get all my products lined up and ready to go!  And this week our theme is "Apples", so it's an easy one!  Yum!

So, the idea is to stamp a card in 10 minutes or less--get your idea finalized in your head,  your supplies at the ready, then go!  I created this fun little 4 1/4" square card in 6 minutes and 32 seconds!

I've had this Papertrey paper and stamp set for a long time, but I never get tired of using them!   I mounted the apple paper on a Basic White mat, then on the Poppy Parade card, and I stamped the apple in Poppy Parade and Old Olive before cutting it out with circle and scallop dies.  The sentiment from Timeless Arrangements was stamped in Early Espresso and diecut with a banner die.  The final addition was a little baker's twine bow and it was done!

So put on your thinking caps, clean off your stamp table, gather your supplies and get crafting!  Show us what you can create in ten minutes or less (and be sure to tell us your time), then share it with us at the As You See It blog! Can't wait to see what you create!

AYSI349 Speed Stamping

Hello, stamping friends! It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and this week, since it's the fifth Friday of the month, means it's time for SPEED stamping! Yep, we want to see what you can create in ten minutes or less!  Get all your supplies ready and go!  Here's our theme:
I pulled out a couple of older sets that make me smile and the new Cloud Cover ink and paper, and here's what I created in 8 minutes and 30 seconds! I would have been done sooner but it took me as long to glue on the sequins as it did to stamp and emboss!

The image of the little girls in the ocean is from Technique Junkies, and the sentiment is from Crafty Secrets:

The seagulls are from the retired Sailing Home set, and the embossed background is the retired Seaside embossing folder.  I left the inside blank so I wouldn't run out of time!

I hope you'll stand up to our Speed Stamping challenge, too!  Check out what the DT created and then come share your quickly-stamped creations with us at the AYSI blog!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI271 Speed Stamping

Happy Friday everyone! Time for a new As You See It challenge and even though it's the dreaded "Speed Stamping" (10 minutes or less), I couldn't help laughing out loud at the challenge photo and theme:

In light of the weather (or maybe I should say LACK of light) we've had lately...this was very apropos! Rain, rain, rain!!!  Although my first thought was to use an umbrella, I had this die pulled out to make some spring creations, so I thought it would be fun to use for this challenge as well!  Boots help keep our feet dry, right?!  SO...here we go, in just under 10 minutes (9 minutes and 51 seconds!):

I gathered my supplies and some DSP from the Pleased As Punch (retired) line, then quickly went to work!  I diecut the boots from some of the rainbow-patterned paper and added a wee little silver foil buckle, then stamped the sentiment from last year's Under My Umbrella on to a diecut panel.  I added a little strip of leftover rainbow paper and some sequins (which spilled on my desk, adding to my time!) and finally it was done!  The card base is 4 1/4" square and I matted it with another piece of DSP from the same series:

I left the inside blank, and I'll add a sentiment later......because I ran out of time! And the sketch is from Atlantic Hearts:

I hope you'll challenge yourself to create a card in less than ten minutes!  Gather your supplies, get your thoughts in order, and then GO!  It's fun to see what you can make in a jiffy!  Be sure to see what the other designers created over at the As You See It blog, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping in today!

Just look at that face:

"Pet me, Mommy!"  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI236 Speedy Butterfly

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for the weekend, and time for a new As You See It challenge!  Here's our theme for this week:

I totally missed the SPEED STAMPING part of this challenge when I first looked at it, so my first card was "disqualified"!!!  I'll show it to you later in the post! So I got out my supplies, set my timer and went to work, and came up with this:

I used a thick white cardstock base, added a strip of Ornate Garden Specialty Paper at an angle, stamped the butterfly from Positive Thoughts on some watercolor paper with Stazon ink and diecut it out:

I watercolored it with Flirty Flamingo ink, then stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Day at an angle as well, so it fits with the Inkspirational Challenge this week of Angle It!

I also added a rhinestone to the top of the butterfly, which added about a minute to my time, since I couldn't decide which color to use!  Altogether, my time was 4:45!  Not bad!  I did have everything ready to go so, and it was a very simple layout...but it just goes to show that you don't need a lot of time and supplies to make an awesome card!  Now here's the "disqualified" card which definitely took more than 10 minutes to create:

Same stamp set, but I did a watercolor background, added some ribbon and gold trim, and a sentiment from Life is Beautiful.  The colors I used were Mint Macaron, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, so I am entering this one in the Global Design Project's challenge as well!

Be sure to check out what the other designers did with their speed stamping!  Then get out your supplies and do some speedy stamping of your own and share it with us as well on the As You See It blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

It's been sunny but cool here in the mornings in SE PA; I took this picture the other morning as I sat on the porch to read my Bible and drink my coffee:

I love how you can see the steam rising!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI230 Speediest Card Ever

Hi stampers!  Time for another As You See It challenge...and yes, it's the (dreaded) Speed Stamping challenge!  I am pretty sure I chose the theme for this one, because I LOVE things in threes:

Image may contain: text

Okay...so the trick is that you have to complete your card in TEN minutes or less, and tell us how long it took you to create yours!  And truthfully, I love speed stamping challenges!  Makes me think about how to use my stamps and ink and papers simply!  My card is so embarrassingly easy, it only took me 2 minutes and 15 seconds!!!  I had all my supplies ready, and we had just made a card using the Tailored Tag punch at club on Monday, so I was already in gear to use it again!  So here we go:

I began with a card of thick Whisper White cardstock, and stamped a sentiment from Tasteful Touches in Misty Moonlight at the bottom right.  I then punched out three coordinating Flowers for Every Season DSPs and arranged them nicely:

That was basically it!  As an afterthought, which took me another couple of seconds, I added the smaller sunflower, stamped off in Bumblebee, on top of the sentiment!  Easy peasy!  And pretty darn bright and colorful too!  And this can always be stepped up with some enamel dots or sequins.  But I like it just the way it is!  Since this is uber-CAS, I am also entering it at the Krafty Chicks CAS challenge!

Just for fun, here is the card we made at club....it used lots of patterns from the In Good Taste line...we punched a LOT!

It has a little window too, where the sentiment peeps through!  A great masculine card and easy to do!

Now, do you think you can stamp something simple but wow-ish in ten minutes or less?!  Show us your stuff at the As You See It blog and check out what the design team came up with and see how quickly (or just under the wire) they did it!  Can't wait to see you there!  Thanks for popping in today!

Apparently it's a good time to go fishing:

Cassidy caught six and Wayne caught ONE!!  LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI174 Shades of Gray Speed Stamping

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, the end of the week and time for another As You See It challenge!  Does this one spark your interest?!  I have never seen this movie so it might not have the same meaning for you...for me, it means Speed Stamping (less than 10 minutes) in any and all shades of gray!  Fun!

At first, as I thought about this challenge, I was a little stumped, but then realized there were lots of images that I could have used!  While going through some of my retired DSP, I came across this knit paper and thought all the little images from Hand Knit would coordinate and be fun and easy to do.  I assembled my supplies, set the timer and went to work:

I managed to finish in 8 minutes and 42 seconds!  I stamped all the images in Smoky Slate ink, then diecut them with the Stitched Shapes square framelits.  I quickly colored them in with a Smoky Slate blend marker:

stamped the sentiment from Crafting Forever down in the right hand corner, adhered them on my DSP, matted it with another layer of Smoky Slate and adhered it to my card.

The only little "extra" I did was to stamp another ball of yarn, quickly cut it out and adhered it with a mini dimensional!!  I love monochromatic cards and this was a fun challenge!

Now, how fast can you stamp?  Show us your creations stamped in 10 minutes or less over at the As You See It blog!  Can't wait to see them!

Cassidy signed up for karate....she really loved her introduction and can't wait to learn some moves!  She's already got the "HI-YAH" down pat!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
