A Coupla Cards

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Another dreary day here in PA, I had only a couple of minutes to stamp yesterday and I needed a thank you card.  We allow an NA (Narcotics Anonymous) group to use our church for meetings, and they always set up chairs and tables for us when we have an event.  It is a BIG help for me, so I made them some cookies and wanted to give them a card as well.  This card should have taken about 5 minutes to make, although it took longer just to diecut the fox and scallop!  I was in a real hurry so it was definitely a rush job!  It's for the Stamp Ink Paper challenge, which is to use a large sentiment:

My sentiment is from an old SAB set called So Very Much, stamped directly on to some Photo Play paper called Autumn Day, with Early Espresso ink.  The fox was on the opposite side of the paper; I just diecut him with a circle die and added an Early Espresso scallop border:

In hindsight, I should have used a different color card base, but I already had this one cut and scored, and as I said, I was in a rush, LOL!

The next card is one I made a couple of days ago; at our latest club meetings, we played with embossing paste and stencils, so I made this little scene to show the clouds from our Pattern Party Decorative Masks.  I must be on a fox kick, 'cuz look....another fox!

I used Foxy Friends and the coordinating punch to make my little fox; the trees were cut with the matching die from a couple of years back, and I hand-cut the mushrooms and tree stump.  I added a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings just for fun:

And since Festive Friday's challenge this week features "clouds", I am entering it there!

Thanks for popping in today...be sure to come back tomorrow for another Inspired By challenge!

FMS320 Birthday Wit

Happy Thursday, peeps...this will be a quick post as I have a busy day!  The FMS sketch by Rita is a fun one, even though I realized I didn't place my panels correctly!!!  I hope she's forgiving!

I don't usually make "funny" birthday cards, but the new Birthday Wit stamp was too cute to pass up, and the large panel was perfect for this large sentiment.  I added a little fox created with the Fox Builder punch and Foxy Friends stamp set and used Cajun Craze and Foil Frenzy for the background

Isn't he a cutie....especially since he left his little footprints all over the card!!

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy your day and be blessed!

Just a couple of crazy girls!

SIP123 Foxy Friends Birthday

Happy Tuesday, everyone, and Happy Halloween!  I hope your trick-or-treating is safe and fun!  It's also Stamp Ink Paper time, with a wonderful sketch:

No automatic alt text available.

My birthday card supply is running low, especially for guys, so I pulled out some never-used papers from Pick a Pattern, along with a neglected stamp set, Foxy Friends:

If you live in my area of PA, you know that the neighboring town of Kennett Square is "The Mushroom Capital of the World"...but not something an out-of-towner would probably know, LOL!  And although I like mushrooms, I would probably never go out of my way to put one on a card!  But this cute mushroom paper is kind of fun and quirky, so I put it to use with some black accents and a sentiment from Happy Birthday, Gorgeous!  And I even gave my little Foxy friend some mushrooms of his own!

On the inside, I added another sentiment from the same set, with a little Crushed Curry "greenery":

I hope you'll play with our sketch this week....I just love this one and you may see it again very soon!  Check out what the other designers did with it as well as Stamp Ink Paper!

If you are faint-of-heart, just skip past this picture of Cassidy!  I am NOT a fan of blood and gore for Halloween, but apparently she wanted to try her own makeup skills and this is what she came up with:

At least she's a smiling ghoul!  Have a wonderful day and be blessed!

Paper Players 347 Birthday!

Hello, stampers!  It's Sunday, and that means Paper Players time!  Jaydee has our theme today, one we can ALL relate to:

I am sure the gallery will be jumping with all kinds of creations this week!  I chose to use the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for my card:

and I pulled out my Window Box thinlets and played with the largest opening diecut:

I first cut a circle with the largest Nestability die I had, then layered the die on top and cut it out.  It was a little too small to go all the way across my card, so I sliced it and separated it, hiding the opening under my floral banner.  You can't even tell, can you?!  I stamped a few little leaves from Foxy Friends at the top, a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and added a cotton yarn bow and a little yellow flower for fun!

I had used my Misti to line up my sentiment but had gotten some ink on the inside cover, so a wee little bit got on the edge of the inside of my card, so I just stamped some more greenery to cover it up and added a Paper Pumpkin birthday greeting:

My card is just full of secrets today, isn't it?!  I hope you'll create a fun birthday greeting for someone and share it with us at the Paper Players blog!  Be sure to check out what the DT did as well!  Can't wait to see you in the gallery!

So our kitchen is now in John's big 3-car garage:

He has a carpet cleaning business, so you can see all the supplies behind us.  We have everything except the dishwasher...which we DO miss, but it's like camping!  And of course, life continues, so Cassidy eats her breakfast there before school, and on Thursday morning, we found a funny little fruit there that Wayne brought home from work; it's called a rambutan, and I had never heard of it!  Cassidy was not impressed and told us that it looked like a strawberry that outgrew its hair:

But we're always game for something new, so Dana cut it open and we each tried a piece.  It was good...sort of a cross between a pear and a grape.

The skin pops off easily and there is a seed inside which you don't eat.  It certainly was an interesting little tidbit!

Anyway, have a blessed day and thanks for popping by!

PP336 CAS Baby

Hi everyone!  It's Sunday and that means Paper Players time!  Joanne has a clean-and-simple challenge today, and I am happy she does....because I don't have any baby cards!  So here we go:

I had a lot of ideas for this challenge, and I ended up making two!  Not sure how CAS this is, but at least the card base is!!  I used the beautiful color palette from Fab Friday:

and the little bunnies from Basket Bunch, which I finally broke down and got...toooooo cute!

I made a mini envelope using the die from Love Notes; colored and diecut all the little bunnies and the bow from Basket Bunch; and the hearts are from Foxy Friends:

I loved this idea so much, I even made another card, using a really old Cuttlebug embossing folder and the Stitched Shapes dies and again, the bunnies:

Aren't they the sweetest?

I can't decide which one I like best!!!

I can't wait to see what you create for this CAS "welcome baby" challenge!  Share your creations with us at the PP blog, and be sure to check out what the designers came up with as well and show them some love!  I am sure you'll get some inspiration!

Decorating the Easter tree!

MTS167 and LWRC384 Celebrate

Howdy, peeps!  If you're in the northeastern part of the US, you're probably waiting for the big snowstorm to hit...that's what we're doing!  Meanwhile, I have been stamping a little bit, using the Match the Sketch challenge:

I had SO many ideas for this card, but in the end I went with some Lawn Fawn plaids and some retired SU polka dots so I could also enter it in the Little Red Wagon challenge of "Plaid & Polka Dots":

Not much stamping, just a sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, stamped on a banner from the Large Numbers die set, on which I did a little shading!  Easy peasy birthday card!

I also wanted to share the two cards we made at my first Cards & Coffee last week; we used Urban Underground papers, washi and embellishments to go along with Foxy Friends and Traveler:

My stampers really liked them and we had a great time!

Cassidy went to a Dr Seuss breakfast on Saturday and made several crafts, one of which was a Cat in the Hat hat!  I'll share more photos later!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP72 Foxy Christmas

Hello peeps!  What a busy Tuesday it is!  Two posts in one day again!  If you'd like to check out my TSOT post, it's HERE.  Hopefully things will get back to normal soon!  I was thrilled to be asked by Justin at Stamp Ink Paper to be a guest designer for November!  I just love their challenges!  The first week is always a sketch..and what a nice one it is:

My Foxy Friends set was sadly neglected, so I pulled it out, along with some Presents and Pinecones DSP and went to work:

Now, we all know that foxes are never Mint Macaron in real life, but doesn't this little fellow look cute stamped in this shade? I added some Emerald Envy eyes and legs, a little Cherry Cobbler bow, and a sentiment from the retired set Merry Crittermas:

I added a strip of the opposite side of the pine DSP along the left side, along with a little stitched strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock!  It adds such a nice contrast!  And I diecut the squares with the Layering Squares dies too!

I hope that you'll play along with the SIP sketch this week!  There are so many great possibilities with this sketch!

Last week, Cassidy brought home a Traveling Panda!  Each week, a student takes the panda home and writes about their "adventures" in a journal.  The following week it goes back to school and goes home with the next student!  Cassidy named her panda Mandy!  We had such a busy week, we didn't do too much with her but I do have a few pix to share!  Cassidy loves to write, so it was a good experience for her!  And Mandy is also wearing a sweater that I knitted for another doll, which makes me feel good!

Enjoy your day!

RS227 Foxy Kitty

Hi peeps!  A fun, whimsical card today using the sketch from RetroSketches:

My sweet friend Sandy gave me a package of papers which included ribbon, DSP and brads!  I just had to use some of them to make a thank you card for her!  Sandy, this card is on its way!

I am not sure if she likes cats or not, but the sweet smile on this kitty would make anyone love her!  I stamped the images from Foxy Friends in Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip inks, then punched them out and assembled them on a scalloped circle.  I added some sequins to the card after I stamped the sentiment (A Dozen Thoughts, ret SU) and gave her a sweet little sequin and pearl necklace!

I wish you could see this paper IRL...there are gold lines in the plaid paper, and some of the flowers are FLOCKED!  SO retro and cool!  Thanks for poppin' in today!

Today is Cassidy's 6th birthday, and she has been stalking the mail lady each day this week for a card (or better yet, a package!).  So far, she's received three cards and I tried to make her wait to open them on her actual birthday, but she wasn't haven't any of it!  Here she is waiting to open the first one (it was from my dad!):

Poor thing...she's also on meds for an ear infection...not a fun thing during your birthday week, but we are pretty sure she's on the mend!

Have a blessed day!
