FMS738 Thank You Kindly

Happy Thursday, all!  Cecile's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches was really a cool one, I couldn't wait to play:

A friend of mine recently gave me a pink of homemade strawberry jam---YUM!  I wanted to make her a little thank you card, so I remembered I had an Altenew set that had some strawberries in it:

I first diecut a stitched border with a die from Reverse Confetti and mounted it on a Peaceful Pine card base.  I stamped the berries in Versafine ink, then watercolored them and fussy-cut them out.  The background foliage was stamped in the new In Color Peaceful Pine (stamped off once), and a little stitched stamp was stamped in the same color.

Sentiment is from Whittle Sayings, and I added some little mini sequins for sparkle!  I think I might have to go have some toast with jam after this, LOL!  I am also going to enter this at the Farm Quest challenge where they are looking for fruit!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SOS536 Best Wishes Brother

Happy Thursday, peeps! My brother's birthday is coming up and the Shopping Our Stash challenge is asking for a winter themed card but not Christmas!  I used some plaid Christmas papers from Echo Park's The Magic of Christmas, along with a deer diecut and a Birch Wood-embossed piece of woodgrain paper for his birthday card:

My sentiment was a combination of an older Paper Pumpkin "Best Wishes" and a Fiskars "brother"; the pine cones and greenery were from W+9's Merry & Bright.  The deer diecut is from Paper Rose; finally I added some black adhesive brads to add a little zip!

Edited to add:  I am also going to enter this at the Inspired By challenge for this week as well:

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP669 Gingerbread Christmas

Hi there, everyone!  It's Sunday and time for another Paper Players challenge, with Jaydee as our hostess! And she has a timely theme for us:

So many ideas from our mood board!  I combined the top left and center pictures for my card today:

This little card is just chock-full of holiday treats--candy, hot cocoa, and gingerbread men!  The background paper from Echo Park's Santa Claus Lane was my starting point, and I pulled out different sets and dies to create the little focal point. My sketch comes from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

And my elements are all from Close to My Heart, except for the gingerbread diecut, which is from Lisa Jones/Sissix.  My sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs:

Everything went on a Lovely Lipstick card base.  My inside sentiment is from a Fiskars set which I don't think I've ever used!

I had so much fun making this!  If you have some Christmas cards still needing to be done, I hope you'll find some inspiration from our theme board!  Whip up something and share it with us over at the Paper Players!  Check out what the other designers did as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

Neutral Holly Jolly

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  The Jingle Belles have a "Neutral Noel" challenge this week, and I always love creating monochromatic cards, and neutrals are always fun too!  I decided to go vintage since the Belles had a couple of  vintage-style beauties that they shared!  So here we go:

I have lots of vintage papers but not many of them are neutral, but I did find this Graphic 45 St Nicholas paper in my stash in a nice warm brown shade. I did some more embossing on the sentiment (I'm getting better!) using Versamark and Pecan Pie inks and clear embossing powder.  I added some gold glimmer paper holly leaves and a copper foil bow, then a few gold rhinestones.  The little ticket strip is a really, really old Crafty Secrets stamp; I don't think I have ever inked it up, and it's got to be at least ten years old!  The same goes for the sentiment, which is from Fiskars!

Another Fiskars sentiment went on the inside of the Very Vanilla card!

And since I am using some "oldies" stamps, I am entering this at the Retro Rubber challenge this week, which is "Anything Goes"!

I'm adding this to my Christmas card stash! How is your holiday stamping shaping up?  It's less than five months to Christmas!

Here's another cool birthday card I received from my friend Karen; it uses the Give It A Whirl dies, and there's a different image or sentiment that shows through the window each time you turn the wheel:

What a fun card!  Thanks, Karen!  And thank you for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS564 Happy 60th

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have some fun things planned for the weekend!  I managed to get most of my Christmas decorations up yesterday...the tree I'll save for next week!

My brother will be celebrating a milestone birthday next week too, so I used the FMS sketch to make a card for him; he's an engineer, so I should have come up with something more clever, but this will have to do!  First, the sketch:

I pulled out some of those masculine plaids from the new Memory Box pad I got recently, along with some copper foil paper and a retired set called Number of Years:

My off-sets circles are diecut with Night of Navy and Balmy Blue, and the numbers and words were stamped in Night of Navy as well; diecuts are from Stylish Shapes dies:

The copper stars were cut with the Give it a Whirl dies as well as a Paper Rose stitched star die.  They coordinate nicely with the copper stripes in the plaid!  Finally, a sentiment from the Number of Years set plus a "brother" stamp from Fiskars went on the inside:

After three girls, my parents were thrilled to get that boy!  And he's been a bit spoiled ever since, LOL!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Here's a real short video of Cassidy at her latest karate testing:

CTS272 Guest Designer

Hi peeps, a second post for me today!  I was uber-excited when Chrissy from CAS(E) this Sketch asked me to be a guest designer for this week!  Check out this fun sketch:

I used the sketch to make a Mother's Day card for Dana, and I used a couple of SU sets to create it in shades of green:

I started with a Very Vanilla base and stamped images from Butterfly Basics (retiring) and Touches of Texture (staying) in Mint Macaron.  I added a butterfly diecut from some of last year's SAB Mint Macaron glimmer paper, and a few little sequins:

The sentiment was a combination of Papertrey's Daily Design Sentiments ("happy Mother's day") along with the "daughter"from Fiskars Celebrate Family set, stamped in Tranquil Tide.  Dana really liked it!  And I hope you'll play along with us too at CAS(E) this Sketch!

We have had some wicked weather this week...if you're on the east coast, you know what I mean!  We had hail and torrential rains on Saturday, lots of lightning and rain on Monday and Tuesday!  Here's a shot from Tuesday night, in downtown Oxford, PA!   That sky was ominous!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Chelsea Gardens Collection

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I hope you have some fun things planned today!  We have some snarky weather going on -- snow forecast for this afternoon and temps in the high 60s next week!  Crazy!  Anyway, I recently received some lovely papers from CTMH called Chelsea Gardens..they are beautiful!!  I am afraid I might hoard them!  But I did "challenge" myself to use the pages that are meant for scrapping...I cut them apart, trimmed a few down and made them into some simple cards!  So I thought I would share!

Yesterday was Dana's birthday, and this simple notecard with a blue butterfly called her name!  I have a fun set of word stamps, so I put a bunch together and stamped them in Smoky Slate on each dotted line, then added the daughter sentiment at the bottom.

It's impossible to see here, but I added some Wink of Stella to the wings and it was quite pretty!

The next one had this gorgeous floral background but a different sentiment in the middle, so I stamped the birthday greeting from Beautiful Day in Basic Gray and added a Baja Breeze scalloped mat, then mounted it on a card of Lucky Limeade!  (Using up some of those retired colors, LOL!)

Finally, an Easter card using a CTMH stamp called Easter Animals Occasions; I originally stamped this little bunny in order to practice with the Blends, and he came out so well I decided to actually use him on a card!  I added a little striped scrap that was laying on my desk, a couple of Crumb Cake borders and mounted it on a white card base:

Reminds me of the little bunnies we see around our yard in the spring!!

Thanks for visiting today--be sure to come back tomorrow as I will be the hostess for the Paper Players!

I "repurposed" Cassidy's gift bag for the little girl across the road on Valentine's Day...she always wants to write on her mom's post it notes as we sit in the car waiting for the bus, so I gave her a little pad of her own, and a piece of chocolate in the bag, re-tied the bow and she thought it was the cat's pajamas!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
