FMS562 Merry Everything

Happy (COLD) Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend!  I am squeaking in this last-minute card for the FMS sketch this week....not a really good interpretation of the sketch, but I had an idea in my head and wanted to stick with it!  Here's the sketch:

I took a couple of liberties with the sketch, orienting it to the other side of the card so my Santa would not be flying in the wrong direction!!!

I stamped the Santa and reindeer in Starry Sky ink and added the little silhouette village in Starry Sky cardstock.  The sentiment and snowflakes were stamped in Seaside Spray ink.  I found a little scrap of Marina Mist glimmer paper for my vertical piece.  The hardest part was curving the sentiment to go the right way...it's a red rubber stamp from Jingle All the Way (ret), and it doesn't curve quite as easily as a photopolymer one does!  My Stamparatus helped me a lot!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS364 Vintage Santas

Happy Black Friday, peeps!  Are you a BF shopper?!  Not I!  Maybe online but I will stay in the cozy warmth of my craft room today, too cold out there!!  The FMS sketch today fit (sorta) with a vintage Santa image I have had in my scrap bin since last year when my friend Peggy lent him to me!  So here's the sketch:

And although my Santa is a rectangle, hopefully they won't toss him out:

He's stamped in Garden Green and I did some brayering with Hello Honey ink to give him a vintage feel to complement these pretty Graphic 45 papers.  I added a gold glimmer paper snowflake and a little "ho ho ho" sentiment:

I went ahead and made another one with a different vintage Santa; this one is from a retired Crafty Secrets set:

I stamped a silhouette image at the bottom and added some more sponging to the image and sentiment:

And since the TGIF challenge this week is sponging, I am entering this card!

That's it for today, two easy peasy cards!

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!  Armed with apples and carrots, we took a walk on Wednesday in the brisk temps to feed the horses down the road:

This poor guy had only one eye...it freaked out the kids a little bit, but eventually they were less afraid.  I think he might have been a rescue horse...the next time I see the owner, we'll ask him!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP372 Ho Ho Ho Sketch from Joanne

Happy Sunday, all!  I hope you've weathered Thanksgiving, Black Friday and whatever it is they call the Saturday after Thanksgiving, all okay!  I do admit to doing a wee bit of online shopping for myself, but I do not venture out during those crazy times!!!

Joanne is our fabulous hostess at the Paper Players this week with a sweet little sketch:

I was also inspired by the colors of red and turquoise in the Just Us Girls challenge this week too!

I spent a little time this weekend in my craft room sorting, sorting, sorting....and I found this die I purchased last year and it hadn't been out of the package!  So it was my starting point for my Christmas card:

I already had a Bermuda Bay card precut and scored, so I chose that as my background, adding some retired SU DSP, some silver Mini Tinsel Trim, and an image of Santa, checking his list.  I also embossed a portion of the background with a Christmas word embossing folder:

I used a few different sets for the inside; it's so weird that Bermuda Bay ink on Bermuda Bay cardstock looks green!!

So glad you could pop in today; I hope you'll check out the Paper Players blog to see what the others created, and while you're there, share your creation with us as well!  Can't wait to see what you create!

My new kitchen has a nice long countertop on which to make cookies!  Cassidy is practicing with my cookie gun, and she did a really great job with it, too!

We had to try all the different disks....she really like giving the little men "eyes":

And of course, licking the beaters just goes without saying:

We're still working on the backsplash...we have a lot of sawing and painting to do, but we'll have it done by Christmas, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 319 Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's my turn to host the Paper Players and this week, it's a Tic-Tac-Toe!  Wheee!  So many options!  Here's the grid:

For my card, I chose the left column:  red, Santa, and diecut, but it also fulfills the top row across, which is red, glitter and snowflakes!  I chose to make a little scene:

I used the Hearth & Home die along with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillsides to create my scene.  My sentiment is from Cosmo Cricket; I sponged the "siding" on the Crumb Cake card, added a red window frame, complete with a gingham curtain, snow in the corners and heaps on snow at the top and bottom:

And ho, ho, ho, who is that we see inside?

Jolly Saint Nick himself (Katy Sue's Silhouette Santas), placing a gift under a Lovely as a Tree Christmas tree!  They're stamped on Always Artichoke, which for some reason, is difficult for me to photograph!  The sentiment is from Amy R Stamps' Handy Christmas Greetings.  I added a few stamped snowflakes on the outside; the "snow" glitter is from Martha Stewart!

Now, I hope you'll find some inspiration in my tac-tac-toe board and play along with us!  Check out the amazing samples from the DT:

Cassidy got another Halloween card in the mail; this one was from my very first Stampin' Up! customer, Maryanne!  She loves funny cards, especially interactive ones, and this one did not disappoint!  It featured a little scene with three spooky characters that move along the bottom of the card when you pull the ribbon:

She loved the vampire-looking dude the best!

And check out the cool stuff she put on the spiderweb inside!  Neat!

Hope you have a wonderful day full of blessings!

SIP50 and MM207 Santa's Bag

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I realized I was falling behind on my Christmas card stamping, so I checked out a couple of challenges and went to work!  The Merry Monday challenge this week is Santa's sack, and the Stamp Ink Paper challenge has a wonderful sketch!

SIP Sketch Challenge 50 800

I remembered this silhouette image I had from Katy Sue Designs (Santa), so I stamped Santa with his sack in Cherry Cobbler on some Very Vanilla cardstock and fussy-cut him out.  The papers are from MME's Vintage Christmas 6x6 pad:

and I stamped the reindeer and sleigh image from SU's Cozy Christmas in Sahara Sand ink behind the Santa before I popped him up with some dimensionals.  The tiny sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs:

I also added a couple of die-cut pine boughs (Poppystamps) and some SU twine:

Another one added to the stash!

Cassidy found some tiny wild strawberries growing in the yard and thought they would be fun to pick for her baby dolls!

They're cute, but NOT very tasty!  Enjoy your day!

Merry Monday 112

DSCF3565

Happy Monday, everyone!  Hope you had a good weekend….our weather was AWESOME and I had a great time stamping with some new friends on Saturday!  But I digress…it’s Monday and that means Merry Monday!  Karren has a sweet little challenge for us today:

I was fully prepared to stamp some Santa hats, but when I was looking through my plethora of Christmas paper, I found some with a plethora of Santas:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 112 Santa Stampin Christmas Card

I haven’t done a vintage card lately, so I quick-as-Santa’s-wink punched them out, mounted them on some Cherry Cobbler diecut squares and after I stamped some sleigh and reindeer images on this cute background DP, I popped them up with some dimensionals.  I finished it off with some baker’s twine and a sentiment at the bottom from Amy R Stamps.  I added a little sparkle to each Santa’s hat as well with a sequin:

to make it qualify for the Just Us Girls sketch challenge this week:

Oooh, this just makes me smile!  How about you?  What can you come up with for our “Santa Hat” challenge?  Share it with us over at the Merry Monday blog, and you might get chosen to be our Guest Designer or even our Featured Designer!!  Can’t wait to see what you create!

Merry Monday 81

DSCF8759

Happy Monday, peeps!  Time for another fun challenge from Merry Monday!  Here’s the jolly fellow himself:

I had about a gazillion ideas swirling around in my head for this challenge, but I already had this image stamped and just sitting on my desk, so I went with it!  Here you go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 81 Santa Christmas CAS

I have a really, really busy week coming up, so I was thrilled that this CAS card came together so easily!  I used some papers from SU’s Season of Style designer pad and some Gumball Green ribbon and cardstock.  Easy peasy!!!  Now, what can YOU come up with for this Santa-themed challenge?  Can’t wait to see your ideas!  Check all the designers’ creations at Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper!  And since I have such a busy week, I am going to be taking a little blogging break, but I’ll be back on Sunday with the next Paper Players challenge!  Enjoy your week!

It’s time to play in the leaves!
