AHS470 Be Still

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I hope you're having a great week so far.  Unfortunately, I needed another sympathy card for a family at church, and the sketch from Atlantic Hearts was perfect.  Here's the sketch:

I recently got some pretty papers from Kaisercraft called Pen & Ink; they have vintage designs, so I pulled a few out to make this:

I used four different patterns from the pad; the butterfly one has shiny black embossing on it, which really gives a cool effect!  I added a little scalloped border of Sahara Sand, a bow of Linen Thread, and a border of stamped gingham.

I stamped a Bible verse at the top, then diecut another panel from the butterfly print and added a black scalloped mat and a couple of Metallic pearls:

On the inside, I stamped a verse from a Papertrey set, along with a butterfly from Positive Thoughts, which I wish I had done differently, but hopefully the recipient won't mind how odd it looks, LOL!

I like the neutral, calming colors in this pad....so soft and pretty!  Thanks for popping in today!

Ever hear of a spaghetti taco?  Apparently it's a thing!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC156 Spring Blessings

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge, with Team X at the helm and me as the designer!  Here is our grid for this week:

Our theme this month is Mother's Day or Wedding, neither of which I needed, so I opted for the middle row down or Pearls, Lace and Vanilla!  I chose to do another Easter card using some pretty W+9 spring images, some woodgrain DSP and a bit of lace and pearls!  Here we go:

My woodgrain layer is from a 6x6 Welcome Winter pad by Carta Bella.  I stamped the nest, eggs and pussy willows and diecut them out, attaching them to a couple of Very Vanilla stitched frames.  The sentiment is a combination of two sets, the W+9 one (Spring Blessings) along with one from Wreath for All Seasons by Papertrey.  It's stamped in Soft Sky, and it IS a very soft color for sure!

I added a little rouche of crochet lace, tied with a Linen thread bow and added a few pearls as well as tucking in another couple of sprigs:

And again, the inside sentiment is a combination of both sets!  Fun to mix and match different sets!

I hope you'll find something in our Tic-Tac-Toe grid that tickles your fancy enough to make a card to share with us!  Check out the TTT blog to see what the others created as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS523 Sympathy Butterflies

Happy Friday, peeps!  First, I must apologize for my photos in my next few blog posts.  My computer is being upgraded and having some repairs done, so I am using John's laptop for posting and my phone for photos, neither of which I am real familiar with!  So please bear with me!  My card today is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

A long-time member of our church passed away recently so I used the sketch to create a sympathy card for the family.  I used papers from You're A Peach along with butterflies from Positive Thoughts:

The butterflies were stamped lightly with Misty Moonlight and diecut, then mounted on circles of Soft Succulent.  I added some In Color rhinestones and embossed the Thick Basic White card base with the Ornate Floral embossing folder.  The sentiment is from a retired set called Wishing You Well. I added a Our Daily Bread Bible verse on the inside, along with a couple more butterflies:

As I said, the colors really aren't very true to life, bear with me as I play with adjusting them on my phone!  Thanks for visiting...enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC251 Butterfly Sympathy

Happy Friday, peeps!  Only a week until Christmas Eve...are you ready? I am NOT ready, LOL!  But I will be!  Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week and while I was perusing the winners at Inspired By for my card yesterday, I saw another card by Nora that I really liked; you can see it here.  I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

And here's my take on her inspiration:

I used some Smoky Slate DSP for the background, then created a mat of Purple Posy on which to adhere a panel that was stamped with the words from Quiet Meadow as well as embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.  I added some diecuts in Basic White, a butterfly from Positive Thoughts and a wee bit of Black and White Gingham ribbon.

The sentiment is from an upcoming SAB set called Special Moments, which I predict will be very popular!  Finally, I added this to the inside; it's from Sweet & Sassy:

Thanks for visiting today!

John's sister sent these pictures in her Christmas card to us this year; it was John's first sailboat!!!

Of course, it wasn't seaworthy, but he said he remembered having a lot of fun building it!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC441 Friends Like You

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I mixed up some DSPs and pulled out Hand-Penned Petals to create a card using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts today; here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I used papers from Hand-Penned and Harvest Meadow, along with the largest floral image from Hand-Penned Petals.  I was surprised to find that Cinnamon Cider was the color that matched these flowers the best!!!  I lined them up in my Stamparatus and after inking them up, diecut them with the Penned Flowers dies:

I stamped a sentiment from Positive Thoughts, embossed the panel with the Greenery embossing folder, and added a little portion of the fern also from the Positive Thoughts.  It all went on a scalloped mat of Cinnamon Cider! I love the fall colors of these papers!!  Thanks for popping in today!

Mommy gave Cassidy a messy bun.....doesn't she look cute?!  Love my gals!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TSOT519 Two Sympathy Cards

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I slept in today---what a great feeling!  So I am a wee bit behind!  I wanted to share two sympathy cards that sadly, I needed.  They both use the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch for this week.  Here's the first one (which is really the second one I did):

And here's the sketch:

I used Shaded Summer, stamped in Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent.  For this particular card, I stamped the images twice, once in each color.  I diecut the Soft Succulent image, then fussy-cut the Pale Papaya flowers and adhered them on top.  The sentiment is from Positive Thoughts.  I added pearls at the bottom and one on the main image as well, and some Soft Succulent ribbon.

I used a Papertrey sentiment and the butterfly from Positive Thoughts for the inside:

The second one (which is the first card I made) uses the same layout and images; this time I used markers to color the greenery and florals:

The background DSP is from You're A Peach, and I added some retired polka dot ribbon and some Blue Gems.  I forgot the elements at the bottom right, so  that's why I made another one!  They are both on a Basic White card base that was embossed with the Dots embossing folder

So happy you could pop by today!  My to-do list today include making eggplant parmesan from the bumper crop of eggplants we've had!  Off to put on my chef toque!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS Butterfly Birthday

Hi peeps!  Happy Thursday!  I had a couple of bad days with a sinus infection....I was having such a  great spring but this hot humid weather has really thrown me for a loop!  I did manage to drag myself into my craft room yesterday and made a card using the FMS sketch:

I had some scraps of Hand-Penned DSP on my desk, so I cut my pieces and diecut some stitched scallop borders, then stamped some butterflies, and here we go:

I watercolored a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock with Highland Heather, then once it dried, I stamped the butterflies from Positive Thoughts and diecut them out:

I stamped a sentiment from Shaded Summer below the trio, and I added some rhinestones for some bling!  Thanks for visiting today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JAI553 Friends Like You

Happy Monday, peeps!  It's stamp club day today, so I'll make this quick!  I found a fun sketch at Just Add Ink:

I love the two new In Colors, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, together...they complement each other beautifully! So I used them both in today's card, along with the Positive Thoughts stamp set:

I stamped the foliage directly on to a piece of Soft Succulent DSP, diecut it with the mat die from Nature's Thoughts and matted it with a piece of Evening Evergreen.  For the little doodads sticking out from under the mat, they are also from the Nature's Thoughts dies.  I stamped and diecut the butterfly and added an In Color gem:

Finally a sentiment from the same set, diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

Sympathies Abound

Happy Friday, peeps!  Unfortunately, it seems when I need one sympathy card, it happens that I need at least one or two more.  I was bracing myself and sure enough, the need arose.  I thought the color combo at Color Hues would be lovely for a sympathy card, paired with the sketch from FMS:

And here we go:

I used two layers of Night of Navy with a Very Vanilla base; the bottom one was cut with an Ornate Layers die and the top was embossed with the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder.  I stamped images from Positive Thoughts in Night of Navy ink and diecut them for my focal pieces:

I added some frayed Misty Moonlight twill ribbon as well as a blue rhinestone to add some interest.  I stamped a sentiment from Comfort and Hope on the inside, along with a flower from Positive Thoughts:

My second card uses the sketch only from the Fusion Card Challenge:

For this card, I used the Peony Garden DSP and stamps from Tasteful Touches.  I stamped the flower in Petal Pink and fussy-cut it, then stamped some of the foliage directly on to the cardstock.  The sentiment is from Here's A Card:

I added some Silver glimmer paper leafy things, diecut with the Nature's Thoughts dies:

And added this sweet little diecut border from the Stitched Be Mine dies...it's so small, it's easily overlooked, but it makes a lovely little design!

Thank you so much for popping in today...so happy you visited!

My niece sent me pictures of Sawyer opening his birthday card...our mail has been so erratic, I sent it early and I guess he just couldn't wait!  You can see it here if you want to check it out.  I hope it wasn't too disappointed it was just a card!

Jameson gives brotherly advice:

Shaking it so the eyes wiggle:

And a big grin for Aunt Le!  Love those kids!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
