Happy Card and More Happy Mail

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!  It's gray and gloomy here this weekend, so I thought I would share a happy, cheerful card I made recently to say "thank you" to a customer!  I had never used this particular pattern of the Festive Birthday DSP...it was a wee bit too busy for me....but I thought it would be fun to pair it with the flowers from Basket Bunch as well as the retiring Friendly Wishes!  So here we go:

The sentiment was stamped in Melon Mambo and diecut with an oval stitched die; then I stamped the flowers in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Delightful Dijon, then lightly sponged each one so as not to overpower the outline:

I thought they worked with the floral background pretty nicely!  It sure made me happy! And I had to chuckle when I saw my German friend Claudia's blog yesterday!  Check out her card here!  Great minds think alike!

Valentine Projects

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Prior to my customer appreciation party, I was stamping like mad to create a few samples for the upcoming Valentine holiday!  Here are a few I made:

I really appreciate the generosity of other demonstrators and crafters who so freely share their ideas!!! This sweet little box, created with the Gift Box Punch board, features Sending Love DSP and a sentiment from Suite Sentiments.  I found the sample from Beth McCullough HERE!

This wee little box uses a 6x6" sheet of DSP, and it uses a sentiment from Friendly Wishes, stamped in Sweet Sugarplum.  Sam Donald, who is the QUEEN of the Envelope Punch Board, has a quick tutorial HERE:

Dana gave me a little tin that had some Key Lime mints in it....it's tiny, only about 1 1/2 x 2 3/4".....but just the right size to decorate with some Sending Love DSP, a silver glimmer heart and silver foil arrow, and a couple of rhinestones along with a little sentiment from Sealed with Love:

And finally, this little triangle treat box features some SAB Carried Away DSP and another sentiment from Suite Sentiments....have I mentioned how much I love this set, too?!  You can find the directions for this box from Jane Carroll HERE:

Stamp Ink Paper 83 A True Friend

Hi peeps!  Tuesday and a new Stamp Ink Paper challenge---a great sketch!  I love a great sketch!

I am smitten with the Sealed with Love set, and I think it is suitable for cards other than Valentine's! 

I needed a thank you card, so I paired it with Endless Thanks for a sweet little confection:

I used Festive Birthday for my DSP choices, and you can see how I incorporated a couple of the thank you sentiments on my little notecard:

I tied up my little envelope with some white twine and added a few embellishments and sequins!  And finally, my inside sentiment is from Friendly Wishes:

SIP67 Scottie Love

Hi everyone!  I promise I will not inundate you with Scottish-themed stuff all week long, but the very first thing I convinced my sister to do (she took me to Scotland) after we got off the plane in Edinburgh was to GO TO A STAMP SHOP!!!  Bless her heart....driving a stick shift car on the left side of the street, and I make her go to a rubber stamp store!  But she did...we stopped at Stampers Grove and I picked up a few Scottish-themed stamps!  So of course, I just had to use one today, along with some of the papers again from Carta Bella's Christmas Delivery papers and the sketch from this week's Stamp Ink Paper challenge:

So here we go...it's a nice simple sketch, perfect for my little Scottie dog:

I always wanted a little dog like this; sadly, this is probably the closest I'll ever get, LOL!  I stamped my pup on Smoky Slate cardstock in Basic Black ink and added a little shading with some ink and a blender pen and cut him out.  Then I stamped him again on some white cardstock and popped him up with dimensionals and added a sentiment from Friendly Wishes:

I used a heart die and cut out four hearts from Riding Hood Red cardstock, glued them together, then used my crop-a-dile to punch a couple of holes to make a faux button.  I tied it with some black embroidery floss and glued it on:

Really quite an easy little card!  This little guy makes me smile!  

I didn't take too many pix in Scotland; my sister is the photographer and I am sure she'll be sharing hers with me soon.  This is the picturesque town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull; we had some awesome fish and chips here:

We spent all our nights except one in B&Bs....this one was in Tobermory!  It was high on a hill overlooking the harbor!

John brought Cassidy with him when he picked me up at the train station as Dana was working....she didn't quite make it to 8:30:

Hi everyone!  Monday mornings are a challenge aren't they?!  But it's a new day, a new set of possibilities! John & I want to thank everyone who offered condolences on the passing of his dad...they are very much appreciated!

I had a few minutes yesterday to play with the Match the Sketch sketch..they always have such nice ones:

I am loving the papers in the Serene Scenery tablet, but sometimes they can be a bit challenging!  I have found that stamping a big honkin' sentiment right on the paper works great!  This time I used one from Friendly Wishes and stamped it in Chocolate Chip...haven't used that one for a while! Check it out:

Isn't that dandelion paper the sweetest?  I cut out a scalloped square of Chocolate Chip cardstock with SU's new Layered Scallop Squares and used the crosshatch image from Best Birds to stamp on it. You all probably know this, but if you want a subtle color on your background, use Versamark ink....it doesn't overpower the cardstock like it might if you used a regular ink pad! It's not just for embossing!  I stamped the sunflower from Every Occasion (let's pretend that it's a dandelion) in Basic Black ink on watercolor paper, then colored it with an aquapainter and Crushed Curry and Delightful Dijon inks:

I added a little tiny shadow around the image with a Sahara Sand marker, some speckles, and mounted it on a Crushed Curry circle mat; the ribbon is some retired chevron that worked well with my color theme!  Hope you like it!

Cassidy is playing school with Claudia's grandkids...she is telling them to "line up"...sound familiar?!  LOL!  You can see that they're way up high, too....school in the sky!

Fun Fold Cards

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My upline Pennie has a FB page where lots of her downline share ideas!  My friend Janice shared a fun folded card there and she graciously gave me the measurements, so I made a couple of my own.  (I will share the measurements at the end of the post.)  My first one features Love Blossoms DSP, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler along with Something to Say, Remember This, and Friendly Wishes:

So the front of the card looks like a regular card (I added some twine to hold the folds together), but when it opens...tada!

The smaller right panel folds under the larger left panel, and you can decorate all three of them any way you like!  Here's the inside:

The second one features Birthday Bouquet DSP and Suite Sayings:

I used Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride for my colors and since the DSP has a fairly large pattern, I chose not to decorate the smaller panel and use just a simple sentiment for the front!

Here are the measurements:  

• DSP:  4 x 3 1/4" and 4 x 1 1/2"
• Mats for DSP and back of card: 4 1/2 x 3 3/4", 4 1/8 x 3 3/8" and 4 1/8 x 1 5/8"
• Card base is 10 1/2 x 4 1/4, scored at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7" and 8 3/4"
• If you want to add an optional layer to the inside:  4 x 3 1/4"

Happy Friday, peeps! Hope you have some fun holiday plans for the weekend!  My plan is to do some cleaning, LOL!  I did make a card for my friend, using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches (turned on its side):

The DSP from the Occasions catalog fit a card from me, since most of my spare time these days are spent knitting!  I added some DSP from Cherry on Top and retired Fresh Prints; some Bermuda Bay twine, and a heart from the Circle Card Framelit:

I love these colors! 

It’s blueberry-picking season, and we took Cassidy for the first time.  She was not much help picking, and after a few whiny moments, she wasn’t too bad.  We didn’t stay out too long either!

The farmer gave us a little cart because the path was very muddy:
