RRCB109 Anything Goes in a Garden

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time again for the latest Retro Rubber Challenge, where we challenge you to use stamps at least one year old!  This week, it's "Anything Goes"!  Yay!  That's always fun!

Image may contain: text

My SIL has a birthday coming up, and she loves to garden, which gave me a chance to use one of my all-time favorite older SU stamps. Garden Pleasures, from 2001--wow, that's 18 years ago! So here we go:

I used the Global Design Project's sketch for this week, flipping it so my little birds would be looking at each other:

I stamped my image on Shimmery White cardstock, watercoloring it with an aquapainter and inks:

I added a sweet little Be Mine diecut Kraft element at the bottom, after cutting the image out with the Stitched Rectangle die (shortening it a wee bit).  The little sentiment banner is from a set called Small Sayings, from 2006; the inside birthday sentiment is from Better Together (2016); the rest of the images are from the same Garden Pleasures set:

I hope she likes it!  And I hope you'll play along with us as well!  Remember, stamps have to be at least a year old, and you must tell us the age in your post!  Check out all the DT samples at the Retro Rubber blog!  Hope to see you there!

Speaking of gardening, Cassidy is getting into her own little gardening groove:

Dana said she did this planter all by herself!  I think I need to put her to work on my patio!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 331

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Nance is our Paper Players hostess today with a lovely color palette!  I had so many ideas in my head!  Here's the prompt:

I used a SAB set called Delicate Details for my clean and simple creation; The sketch is from last week's Freshly Made Sketches;  I didn't have time to play with it then, so I am using it today!

My card base is Naturals White, and I stamped one of the lace panels in Smoky Slate three times and trimmed it out.  I didn't have any Copper Foil sheets, but I did have some Brushed Copper cardstock from a while back, so I used that instead to diecut some birds; I also cut some from Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate, then adhered them on each "branch".

My final touches were a branch of  Brushed Copper diecut using the Flourishes die, and a little heat-embossed copper sentiment.  Of course, I messed up my first stamping, so I stamped it again and cut it out on a little banner...not the best save, but I didn't feel like starting all over again, LOL!

I am sure you have some glorious ideas for these elegant colors....can't wait to see what you create!  Be sure to share them with us at the Paper Players, and meanwhile, check out the DT samples there as well, or click on them below:

I had to share this photo of my great-nephew Chaz from our snow day.  He is actually touching his nose with his tongue!!!  This kid is too funny!  It was so cold; look at their red cheeks, too!

Enjoy your day!

TSOT288 Joyful Birthday

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch:

The option this week is Autumn Colors, but I was itching to use some of this fun Festive Birthday DSP that I hadn't had a chance to play with yet!  I needed a birthday card, so it was a perfect time to dig into it:

I let the paper do most of the work!  I added a Melon Mambo flower, cut using the Flower Fair Framelits along with some leaves from the Flourish Framelits; I accented it with a big white enamel dot in the center:

And the sentiment banner was diecut with the banner from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits; the sentiment is from a retired SU set called Small Sayings, stamped in Marina Mist, and shaded just a wee bit with some ink and an aquapainter to give it dimension!

And on the inside, I added a little narrow strip of the same DSP, different pattern, and a sentiment from Papertrey:

I thoroughly enjoyed this sketch, and I hope you'll play along with it as well!  You can share it on the TSOT blog, or we even have a Facebook page where you can enter it too!

Some of Cassidy's chalkwork:  that's a bear (sort looks like a pig to me, but what do I know?) and a mouse with a long pink tail, walking in the grass at night, with a moon in the sky!  Sure it is!

You Make Me Smile

Hi everyone!  I had a very unusual evening...not one person was in my house last night except ME!  Woohoo!  Stamping time!  I actually had some relaxing creative time, using the As You See It sketch:

AYSIChallenge130

And the beautiful colors from Create with Connie and Mary:

CCMC400

I finally ordered the Butterfly Basics set....not sure what I was waiting for, but I was convinced that I didn't need another butterfly set, LOL!  But isn't it pretty?  I paired it with Awesomely Artistic; they just were made for each other!  I stamped a whole bunch of their images on top of the photo "frame" as well as behind it; added a couple of different washi tapes; put some vellum in the corners (which are a wee bit difficult to see) and tied it all up with some Lost Lagoon baker's twine and a really old sentiment from Small Sayings.  Oooh, so much fun to create!

Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy made some playdoh cookies and sandwiches, and had a wee impromptu tea party/picnic on the patio:

She had to cut up the "sandwich" so her baby could eat it!

Enjoy your day!

MTS100 Welcome Baby

DSCF3132
Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I had a wee bit of stamping time yesterday to make a baby card for John’s nephew and his wife, who welcomed little Zion into the world on Sunday morning!  How exciting for us all!  I was determined to use the Match the Sketch sketch, because it was intriguing to me:
I pulled out some fun papers from the scraps left of my MME’s Fly A Kite 6x6 pad, added them to a Crumb Cake base, embossed with stars:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Welcome Baby Stampin Up

and then diecut my circles and stars (Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes) with some scraps of Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron and some more MME papers!  The sentiment is a (really) old SU set called Short & Sweet, and the inside images and sentiment are from another old set called Small Sayings:

I can’t wait to see this wee little guy in person!!

Over the weekend, we got Cassidy a new single bed so she has a little more room in her bedroom!

We still have the old decorations and wallpaper….but she was so surprised and happy, and promptly began playing……

ColourQ153 with Fab Friday 01

DSCF8015-001

Woohoo!  Tuesday is upon us, back to “normal” life!  Hope everyone had a great Labor Day—it was quite relaxing for us, even though the weather was not very cooperative!

Arielle has a yummy color combo for us today—the possibilities are endless:

My niece had a baby boy while we were away, so of course, I took advantage of these colors to make her family a little “welcome baby” card.  This is a small notecard size, 3 1/2 x 5”:

LeAnne_CQC153

I have been patiently waiting to use this little star stamp I recently acquired, and it fit perfectly with a retired SU sentiment from Small Sayings!  I colored all the stars and then glittered them up for some “twinkle”!

And since my bottom panel looked a little bare, I added a little extra star down below!

And there’s a new challenge in town:  Fab Friday!  This uses their very first sketch:

I hope you’ll scoot on over to the ColourQ blog to see what the others came up with using these fab colors!  And I hope you can find time in your schedule to play with us too!  Can’t wait to see you there!

I wish I could give you the audio that went along with this adventure of Cassidy’s (just excuse my stained pots & pans!!!):

Paper Players 108

DSCF5994
Happy Sunday, everyone!  Ann is our fabulous hostess today, and she’s got a wonderful color combo for you!
And here we go:
PP108 - LeAnne New
I struggled a bit with these colors; I didn’t want to make a patriotic-themed card, and finally decided on making another vintage-style with Postage Due, French Foliage, Artistic Etchings and Tiny Tags.  The sentiment is from a retired set called Small Sayings.  That pretty Cherry Cobbler DP is from the new Festival of Prints pack available in the new Holiday Mini.  I love that it can be used for more than just Christmas!  I hope Ann doesn’t mind that I added a neutral Very Vanilla in the mix!  This is also for the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge #24, which is vintage travel!

Be sure to see what the others at the Paper Players have come up with this week.  They’ve got a nice array of wonderful creations that are sure to inspire you!

“Grammy, how do you make this thing work?”
