Two Baby Cards for CASCSC308

Hi everyone!  Hope your week is going by nicely!  I think we are finally out of this snowy, rainy, sleety wet weather we've been having!  Keeping my fingers crossed anyway!

I needed two baby cards this week; one for a friend who welcomed a little boy into their family of two boys and four girls, and another for a friend who became a first-time grandmother, welcoming a little girl!  I used the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch for both of them:

So here we go:

My camera captured these colors a bit wonky; in real life, they match nicely!  I used the Be Mine framelits and a retired heart punch to create my trio of hearts, and I used two retired sets, PS:  I Love You for the Blushing Bride stamped heart, and Suite Sayings for the sentiment.  I added another little piece of MFT gingham to peek out under the scalloped bottom too!   I heat-embossed the sentiment on some vellum and tucked a little Powder Pink ribbon behind it to "peek" through:

I combined two sentiments to stamp the inside as well:

The boy card is the same, except I used Balmy Blue, some Marina Mist ribbon and I didn't add the scallop at the bottom.  I substituted some Gingham Gala sequins for the pearls!

I am also entering this in the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week, which is vellum!

Happy that you popped it today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Cassidy made a "snow chair"...looks like she is definitely chillin'!

PP379 Be My Valentine

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Happy Super Bowl day!  Lots of busyness going on today, so this will be short and sweet!  Claire is our Paper Players hostess with a theme of Be My Valentine!  I have combined my Valentine with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

(I know I didn't put the sentiment in the right place for the challenge, so if they kick me out, that's fine!  But I just thought it looked better where it was! )  I am in love with this Bo Bunny Petal Lane paper, so I used a couple more sheets of it to create my card today:

I diecut a heart from black glimmer paper, then hand-trimmed the inside to create a frame.  Flowers from Jar of Love, stamped in Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry adorn the heart; I added some little gray springs and tucked a few little sequins around the bouquet as well; the sentiment is from the same set:

The "love" diecut is also from glimmer paper, it's from Simon Says Stamp.  On the inside, I used a sentiment from PS:  I Love You, and since I had a couple extra flowers, added them as well!

And since the word prompt this week from Just Us Girls is "love", I am entering my card there as well!

I am sure you've got lots of heart-themed stamps, so get to work and show us your Valentines!  Share them at the Paper Players, where you can see the design team's work and be inspired!  Now, GO EAGLES!!!

Cassidy's Eagles green hairdo for school on Friday!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 377 CAS Love Notes

Hi peeps!  It's Sunday and that means another Paper Players challenge; this week Joanne is our hostess with a clean and simple Love Notes challenge:

There has been some chatter on a few blogs that I frequent about using older stamps....pros and cons!  I admit to keeping LOTS of older stamps while trying to keep up with new styles, and it's tough!  But I reached into the vault and dusted off this cute silhouette stamp...I don't even know the name of the set, as I got this at a yard sale a few years back....of a sweet little girl and her puppy, posting a love note, and I thought it would be perfect for the clean and simple challenge Joanne chose:

Since I don't have my Stamparatus yet, I used my Misti to ink up the image in Basic Black, stamping a few times to get a good image, then diecut it with a stitched square die from Lil'Inker:

The sentiment is from another oldie set, PS: I Love You (one of my all-time favs) and it was stamped on a tag diecut with a die from Pretty Pink Posh, and embellished with an enamel heart, and finally some black and white gingham:

On the inside, I used sentiments from this month's Paper Pumpkin, stamped in Real Red and Smoky Slate:

I hope you play along!  There are lots of great samples created by the design team; be sure to check them out:

Friday was Eagles spirit day, and Cassidy resorted to wearing one of Wayne's shirts and hat to school since she doesn't have any Eagle apparel of her own!

Tonight will be the deciding factor; if they win, they go to the Super Bowl!  If not, they still had an awesome season...and I don't even really care about football, but I've at least got to support my local team!!!  Have a good day and be blessed!

Valentines X Two

Happy Tuesday, peeps....a wee bit more snow today, not a lot, but enough to make me want to stay inside and be cozy!  I made a couple of simple Valentines yesterday....the first is pretty traditional, and it was inspired by Teneale's sketch here, using some Love Blossoms DSP:

The cupid image is from my favorite, but sadly retired, Valentine set, P.S. I Love You....stamped him in Rose Red and fussy-cut him out and attached him to a little banner of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.  The "love" diecut is from Simon Says Stamp, called Small Love You:

I am entering this in the Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge of "Love"!

SIP Challenge 34 - Love 800

The second card uses a non-Valentine stamp set, the hostess set Love You Sew from the Occasions catalog, along with some Melon Mambo cardstock and ink and Everyday Chic DSP:

I just had so much fun stamping all those little stitched lines on the front!! Wheeee!  And on the inside:

That's a good Valentine message, dontcha think?  Love it too!

Here's my little Valentine, sorting out Scrabble letters with Mommy:

Enjoy your day!

RRBC07

DSCF7879

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I am still making Valentines!  The Retro Rubber challenge this week is to “remake” a Valentine!

RRBC07

This is the Valentine I am recreating; it was from February of 2013:

LeAnne Pugliese Stitched with Love Valentine

I used the same sketch but went with some deeper, richer colors.  What do you think:

These designer papers are from My Mind’s Eye Heirloom line; the stamps are from PS: I Love You (retired SU); the cardstock is Naturals White, Cherry Cobbler and Strawberry Slush.  I embossed the white scallop with the retired Adorning Accents embossing folder and added a little organdy flower that I very lightly brushed with some pink ink:

The sentiment flag is the same pattern as the vertical panel, and it’s stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.  Such pretty patterns!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy is enjoying her gymnastics!

Circle Card Valentine

DSCF7795

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Brrrr, it sure is cold!  Makes me want to snuggle up with my Valentine, LOL!  Here’s a vintage, layered-up fancy schmancy Valentine card for the Kraft Journal’s Valentine challenge this week:

I used a plethora of stuff from my stash; some Jenny Bowlin papers, some corrugated diecuts, some shabby seam binding and some stamped images, most of which are from my favorite SU valentine set, P.S. I Love You!  It’s all combined on a Circle Card diecut of Crumb Cake.  Here’s a close-up of the front circular portion:

The lower front portion:

And the inside circular portion, using January’s Paper Pumpkin stamp set:

I haven’t made one like this for a while; it was fun!

Cassidy started gymnastics last night!  She called me afterwards and told me all the things she did….and she loved it!  Here she is all dressed in her outfit!

CCCB198 & CC3 Anniversary

DSCF0805

During last week’s no-power “event”, I was able to stamp a wee bit in my cold stamp room; my friend asked me to make a couple anniversary cards, and this is one I came up with.  It happens to fit the City Crafter Challenge #198 this week, Love Bug (use the word love on your card) as well as the monochromatic pink challenge at the Card Concept #3:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Anniversary Card

The Card Concept wants you to describe the style of your card, which I guess would be Freestyle Collage.  (They list their “styles” on the blog).  It was really easy to make, as the MME papers from the Heirloom line are just beautiful!  I used the SU Heart framelit to cut out a heart on the side, then stamped on the card base under it and added some vanilla seam binding.  I used the reverse side of the diecut to embellish the inside, and added a Bible verse from a retired CHF set:

I love how this came out!!

Well, we are gearing up for another big snowstorm tomorrow….I have to admit, I will be very glad to see spring!!!  But we just have to hunker down and deal with it!

MIM 157 & SOS137

DSCF0787
Happy Saturday, everyone!  Phew, it’s good to be back online, have electricity, heat, hot running water…..all the stuff you take for granted until it’s not there!  58 hours without power gives one a sense of what’s REALLY important in your life, LOL!  I did get a little bit of stamping done (it was pretty chilly in my stamp room) and I made a collage-style Valentine card for the Kraft Journal’s challenge 157, Here’s My Heart, and Shopping Our Stash 137, Love Me Tender:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Vintage Valentine Card Stampin

I had this little cherub printed out for another project, but didn’t use it, so I cut him out and popped him up on a card base I stamped with about a million or so images from various stamp companies—I may have gone a bit overboard, I think!  But it is fun to use them, especially ones for specific holidays that you don’t get to use too much!  I also added some glitter on the little guy’s wings, some sequins, a felt heart, a leaf stick-pin:

a couple little banners, and a glimmer heart!!!

DSCF0785

Maybe I went a little board overboard!  It was fun, though!  I used several stamp sets...if you want more info about which sets, just email me!

So many of you probably encountered the ice storm that took away our power, but here are a couple of pictures to show you what we dealt with, which really wasn’t bad considering all the other damage around the state:

Our pine trees in the driveway suffered a lot of broken branches:

Our neighbor lost a big branch on his tree:

DSCF5803

But it was pretty!

DSCF5795

The strange thing was the noise; as I walked around the yard, it sounded like rifles being shot – branches were breaking and falling all through the woods!  As I was taking pictures, one of the pine branches fell a few feet from me!  A close call for sure!  Nature’s way of pruning, I guess!!  Hope you all are safe & sound wherever you live!

While we were stuck inside, we did some tattooing!!!
