PP456 Poinsettia Tree

Hi peeps!  Time for another Paper Players challenge!  Laurie has a GREAT sketch for us this week...I even made two cards with it!  So here's the sketch:

And here's my card---a combination of new and old goodies!!!  I used a new set from the Holiday catalog called Shine Bright, and I stamped it in Mint Macaron ink, then used Light and Dark Mint Macaron Blends to color it in:

I used a gold Zig Painty pen to fill in the little berries, then added a Gold Foil scalloped mat, embellished it with a flower punched from the Triple Flower Punch and anchored with a gold brad.  For the lower panel, I used some Mint Macaron gingham DSP, stamping a partial sentiment (Christmas Pines) with the new Golden Glitz Delicata ink and mounted everything on a white card base that was embossed with the retired Petals A-Plenty embossing folder.

For my second card, I pulled out some printed papers gifted to me by my friend Teri, stamped a cute little pup from a CTMH set, colored it with some Blends and added sentiments from Happy Tails and Picture Perfect Birthday:

This went to my nephew....he might think it's a little juvenile, but he always likes my cards, hopefully he'll like this one too!

Thanks for popping in today---I hope you'll play along with Laurie's wonderful sketch and share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog!  While you're there, check out what the DT created as well!

We have had a bumper crop of green and purple beans this year....our garden just keeps producing them and we couldn't eat them all, so I decided to freeze some earlier this past week.  Cassidy was itching to play a new game she got, so she actually pitched in and helped so that I could finish up and we could play!!

She was a good helper, and we had a lot of fun playing Sleeping Queens....I highly recommend it!

I am going to be taking a little bloggy vacation, spending time with hubby, so I will see you next Sunday, when I am the hostess at the Players!  Enjoy your week and be blessed!

FMS396 Vintage Nautical

Happy Friday, peeps!  Wow, what a day we had yesterday....I was driving home from dropping Cassidy off and it was raining insanely!!  Scary stuff!  Hopefully today will be better!  Anyway, late last night I crept into my craft room to make a card with Linda's FMS sketch:
I really liked the vintage sailing print in the Come Sail Away DSP package...it's interesting enough to not need a lot of embellishments, which made it great for the sketch!  So here we go:

I used the little rope die from the Smooth Sailing dies to cut my borders from Soft Suede cardstock, pieced them together and glued them on top of the DSP.  I stamped a sentiment in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the stitched label die from the same set. I thought it looked a little "naked", so I cut another die from SS, cut it in half and layered it underneath! The final touch was some retired candy dots.

I stamped a birthday sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday on the inside, along with the lighthouse, stamped in Sahara Sand:

These make such great masculine cards!  So happy you popped in today!

We got to meet Ginger a few days ago; Cassidy carries her around everywhere, and even put her on the swing!  And she must have liked it, she didn't jump off!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP442 CAS Plants

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you are having a good weekend so far...today it's Laurie's turn to be our Paper Players hostess, and for her clean-and-simple challenge, she's chosen plants!  What a great idea!

I didn't think I had any "plant" stamps, but I did remember this sweet little set from a few years back called Pocket Silhouettes...and I am so happy with the way this turned out!  I stamped three images in Call Me Clover and added a sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday:

Since the CAS on Sunday challenge this week is polka dots, I added a "planter" of Call Me Clover polka dotted DSP, diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die; I like how it mimics the dots in the plant image!

I had this retired stamp set, Sincere Salutations, in the same stamp case as the silhouette, so I went ahead and used it for my inside, stamping another little silhouette down at the bottom.  Everything went on a Call Me Clover card base.  And since I didn't get my birthday sentiment quite centered, I added a pearl (another polka dot, LOL!) that I colored with a Blend to create a more balanced sentiment!

I love this card, I am going to be hard-pressed to mail it out, LOL!  I hope you'll play along with our clean-and-simple challenge!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Be sure to check out the rules at the Paper Players blog and while you're there, see what the designers created as well!  Thanks for popping by today!

Scary girl!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP441 Popsicle Birthday

Happy Sunday, peeps, and Happy Mother's Day, if that applies to you!  Not sure what the family has in store today...I guess it will be a surprise!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess today with a bright, cheerful color challenge...I admit, it had me stumped for a bit!

At first, my mind went "floral" but the colors kept reminding me of ice pops, so I pulled out the retired Day at the Beach...at first I was going to use three different images, but I remembered the sketch from Cecile at FMS:
So here is my popsicle-y creation:

Each treat was stamped in Stazon on watercolor paper and watercolored with inks, then fussy cut and coated with Wink of Stella...it's REALLY sparkly in real life, too bad you can't see it here!  I added some squiggly stitches to for fun on top of some retired Pool Party polka-dot DSP and a mat of Granny Apple Green:

I used a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays and the confetti from Picture Perfect Birthday to decorate the inside:

SO....I hope you'll play along with this fun color challenge this week!  Check out what the DT did:

And it was a time for celebration yesterday....being new to the karate "community", I did not realize that the students also do competitions!  Cassidy has been practicing very hard lately, and she took first place yesterday in her division for one of her forms, and third place for sparring.  Check out these trophies!!

And here she is with her teacher, Master Fisher:

AYSI200 Take Two

Hi everyone!  This Friday is a special day..it's As You See It's 200th celebration!  To celebrate, someone will be chosen to be our guest designer for challenge #202!  Woohoo!!  We also want to thank Amanda for doing such a great job designing our challenge graphics!!  Heather will be stepping in to fill her shoes, and she's doing an amazing job so far!!!  AND, we're saying goodbye to Tara as well!  So sad to see her go, her creations were always inspiring!

So here is our  current challenge prompt:  TWO!

Image may contain: 1 person, baby

I know the photo looks like a baby challenge....and if you want to make it that, that's okay too!  But there must be TWO of the same elements in your card!!  And if you know me, you know I like things in THREEs!!!  So this was a big challenge for me for sure!  First, I used the Little Red Wagon sketch, which I love, and some of the colors from the Colour Inkspiration photo:

I chose Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Grapefruit Grove and Smoky Slate for my birthday card, which uses the retiring set, Picture Perfect Birthday:

I stamped the bows in Flirty Flamingo and Grapefruit Grove (the Stamparatus was a great help), and the candles and sentiment in Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo.  There was lots of embossing and fussy-cutting, as well as a few sequins and wee bit of Stella:

The inside also highlights a fun use of the sentiments and other cool elements featured in this awesome stamp set:

So please help us celebrate our 200th--you might be chosen as a guest designer for a future challenge!  Can't wait to see what you create!

You never know what this child is going to come up with!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI193 Pops of Poppy

Happy Friday, peeps! Happy February!  Oh my, where did January go?!   It's time for another As You See It challenge!  I just love these "eclectic" challenges....check it out:

No photo description available.

When Poppy Parade came out several years ago, SU offered 6x6 DSPs and luckily, I had saved some of them!  One piece had this fabulous stripe, and another a cheerful polka dot, so I chose them as my backgrounds and used some elements from Picture Perfect Birthday to create a bright birthday card:

I fulfilled the "bow" and the "cutout" criteria from the challenge with the bow from the stamp set, stamped in Poppy Parade and Real Red; the candles were stamped in Poppy Parade, stamping off the base to create a lighter tone:

The sentiment from the same set was stamped and diecut, and I used some sentiments (and another bow) from Itty Bitty Birthdays for the inside:

And I almost forgot; the Festive Friday challenge this time around is to use "red", so I am entering there as well!  I hope this hue is considered red enough, LOL!
#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0026, Stampin Up, Valentine's Day, Red

Poppy Parade is not a color I normally gravitate to, but I really like using it on a monochromatic card--it definitely packs a punch!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week...check out what the DT did with their Poppy Parade!  You can see them all here at the AYSI blog!

Cassidy had a two-hour delay, so she got dressed and did her hair at our house yesterday.  She is learning to take care of her hair on her own...imagine my surprise when she made her own ponytails:

She did a good job, too!  I always say "I don't do hair"...my mom never let me grow my hair long so I am not adept at the finer points of hair styling, LOL!  But she is on her way!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Colors & Sketches 278 Fabulous You

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  This is my last week as guest designer for CAS Colours and Sketches, and we have a lovely sketch for you:

I haven't used this new In Color, Call Me Clover, yet, so I thought this would be a good occasion to remedy that!  I used it with Granny Apple Green, another bright new color, along with Picture Perfect Birthday:

One fun element is the line of piercing above my In Color DSP layer; it's from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets, and it is so fun!  I like how it mimics the polka dots in the DSP!  I added a bow and a noise-maker and popped them up on dimensionals:

I love this simple little sketch and I hope you'll play along with it....it's open to so many possibilities!  And check out all the submissions, as well as the DT creations, at the CAS Colours & Sketches blog!

A little sprinkler action:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
