RetroRubber 95 Out of the Box Baby Card

Hi everyone!  If you're on the east coast of the US, I hope you are staying safe and dry....we have had so much rain and more is on the way!!!  I feel waterlogged!  Anyway, it's time for our latest RetroRubber challenge!  Here we go:

No automatic alt text available.

Let the photo inspire you...it doesn't have to be school-themed, as you will see from my card!  You can let the colors or subject inspire you in any way you like!  The wife of one of John's co-workers at his part-time job just had a baby, and she is a teacher, so I thought an apple-inspired card would be fun!  I have used the Inspire.Create sketch for this week to kick-start my creativity:

No automatic alt text available.
And here is my creation:

I have had this Papertrey paper forever, not sure why I have been hoarding it!  Aren't those colors fun?!  Anyway, it made a great background for my Poppy Parade apple.  To create the apple, I diecut an oval from some older SU Poppy Parade DSP, then trimmed the top of it to resemble the apple.  I sponged around the edges to give it depth, then diecut a leaf, folded it in half and put it through my crimper--now there's a retro tool as well!  The sentiments are both from a retired SU set from 2008 called Nursery Necessities:

I mounted it on a Early Espresso card and it was done!  I hope you'll play along with our RetroRubber challenge this week...remember, the stamps have to be at least one year old and you must tell us their approximate age!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

Miss Silly:

Trust me, no one will be wearing sunglasses any time soon around here...upside down or otherwise!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB28 S'mores for a Boy

Happy Thursday, peeps, and welcome back to another Inspired By challenge!  I needed another baby card, another boy one, too and the prompt Laurel had for us today gave me just the colors I needed for this little bruiser...he weighed in at over eleven pounds when he was born!!!

And in case you were wondering about the "s'mores" in the title, here's the prompt:

Now I am not much of a s'mores fan...I know, weird, right?!  I like all the ingredients of these gooey treats, I just don't like them together!!  I love chocolate, I love marshmallows on a campfire, I love graham crackers with some milk, but they're just too sweet all smooshed together!  But these colors are perfect for the wee little critters from I Dig You, don't you think:

The colors of Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso and the retired Creamy Caramel all worked together so well!  I added some Candy Dots and brads for the wheels, and I just happened to find this little corrugated star I had punched for a previous project but never used!  The sentiment is from Nursery Necessities, stamped on a stitched tag die and also embellished with a Candy Dot:

I added a sentiment and stars from the same Nursery Necessities set!!

Finally, the sketch I used is from the past Fall to Layout #79; I flipped the sketch so the truck wouldn't be driving off the edge of my card:

I hope you'll find some sweet summer inspiration from our photo this week!  Be sure to post it over at the Inspired By blog so we can ALL enjoy it!

Just a girl and her dog, out for ride in the jeep.  Cassidy doesn't seem to mind that Eden is sitting on her lap, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!   Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTS278 It's A Boy

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Boy, is it hot today!  We went yard-saling this morning and it was just overwhelmingly unbearable!  So back inside to work on my craft room...or not!  Anyway, I made this card for a couple in our church who just announced the birth of a new grandson!  Yippee, I always love to make baby cards!  I started with the Cas(e) This Sketch sketch for this week:

And here we go:

This retired stamp set, Every Little Bit, has lots of fun little images that are quick to stamp and easy to color in!  I stamped the images in Memento Black ink and used various SU Blends to color them in, then diecut them with the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

The sentiment is from another retired set, Nursery Necessities, and it and the other banner (Lawn Fawn plaid paper) was cut with a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Labels die.  Everything was adhered to a thick white card, and since the banner stuck out a little, I created a custom envelope with my Envelope Punch Board!

So happy you popped in today...be SURE to come back tomorrow, as the Paper Players have an awesome challenge for all you lucky stampers!  Be blessed and enjoy your day!

Cassidy's first "sparring" time...she is on the left.  She's not quite advanced enough yet to really know how to do this, but Master Fisher put her in with the other students in the class!!!  Yikes, that looks scary to me!

FF135 and IM346 Baby Shower Cards

Hi peeps!  I got in some stamping time yesterday; a customer asked me for a baby shower card in mint green and gray.  I scoured my favorite blogs and came up with a couple of sketches, and went to work!  The first one uses the sketch from Fab Friday (and I realize I forgot the bow!!!):

and a set called Little Cuties....I got this last year and never used it!!  I stamped the hobby horse in Memento Black, colored it with markers and blends, and paired it with some Close to My Heart papers:

The only shower stamp I have is from Teeny Tiny Wishes....I stamped it in Basic Gray, diecut and layered it and adhered it to the inside:

To give my customer a choice, I made another one; not quite mint green, but I thought these papers from Studio Calico were really cute!  I used the sketch from In(k)spire Me:

I used a couple of retired SU sets:  Nursery Necessities and A to Z:

I just love that elephant's little tail!!  A few layers and some Soft Sky twine were the embellishments, and I used the same sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge!

PP336 CAS Baby

Hi everyone!  It's Sunday and that means Paper Players time!  Joanne has a clean-and-simple challenge today, and I am happy she does....because I don't have any baby cards!  So here we go:

I had a lot of ideas for this challenge, and I ended up making two!  Not sure how CAS this is, but at least the card base is!!  I used the beautiful color palette from Fab Friday:

and the little bunnies from Basket Bunch, which I finally broke down and got...toooooo cute!

I made a mini envelope using the die from Love Notes; colored and diecut all the little bunnies and the bow from Basket Bunch; and the hearts are from Foxy Friends:

I loved this idea so much, I even made another card, using a really old Cuttlebug embossing folder and the Stitched Shapes dies and again, the bunnies:

Aren't they the sweetest?

I can't decide which one I like best!!!

I can't wait to see what you create for this CAS "welcome baby" challenge!  Share your creations with us at the PP blog, and be sure to check out what the designers came up with as well and show them some love!  I am sure you'll get some inspiration!

Decorating the Easter tree!

AYSI070 and PPA 240 Baby Shower Cards

DSCF8116

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Thanks for the well-wishes,  I felt better enough to do some stamping for my niece’s baby shower we’re attending today!  Her invites were gray and yellow, and she’s having a boy, so I chose those colors plus a wee bit of blue for my card:

I am usually stamp things in “threes”, but the As You See It sketch this week had four panels:

AYSIChallenge075

I stamped the little critters from Every Little Bit (retired SU) in Stazon black and colored them in with reinkers and an aquapainter.  I punched them out with a 1” square punch, then mounted them on So Saffron squares that were diecut with a Nestability die.  My top panel is from the Moonlight DSP stack.  I added some washi tape, an embossed button and some twine in Soft Sky:

I also embossed the lower portion with the cross stitch embossing folder from the retired Needlepoint set, and I couldn’t resist adding another button on the inside, along with the sentiments from Something to Say, stamped in Smoky Slate:

Since my sister is here to attend the shower as well, I stamped another card for her, a little different feel to this one; it uses the Pals Paper Arts sketch from this week:

and here’s the sketch:

PPA240

This uses the SAB DSP Best Year Ever; retired sets Nursery Necessities and Itty Bitty Bitties and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Ink colors used were Hello Honey, Calypso Coral and Soft Suede.  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy got some little Sofia post-it notes, so decided she was going use them to make “invitations” to a party!  Here is she, writing her guests’ names:

And consulting Grampy on how to spell his name!!!  I guess he’s a guest too!

Colour Me…! 20

DSCF2949
Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It’s time for another Colour Me…! challenge, and this was a perfect one for me to start on my Father’s Day cards:

These striking colors shouted “nautical” to me, so I pulled out some retired stuff and went to work:

I inked up the Chevron embossing folder with Crushed Curry ink before running it through the Big Shot to get the chevron background; the rest was just stamping, punching, diecutting and snipping!  I also used the Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch:

I hope you’ll play along with us this week and be sure to check out what all the fabulous designers at Colour Me…! have come up with!
