JAI252 and FM199

Happy Friday!  I have a quick card…the hardest part was angling and trimming the paper! The sketch is from Just Add Ink:

And I used some papers from a lovely MME pack called Blush from the Lost & Found Two line.  Here we go:

The papers are just beautiful…the only stamping was the “celebrate”, which is from Papertrey:

I added some seam binding I had already scrunched up; the heart was also from a MME DSP pack, which I just cut out and mounted on a plaid scallop.  I added some Tim Holtz stickers and a retired SU embellishment:

I was tempted to do some sewing, but my machine has blue thread in it and I was too lazy to change it, LOL! And since the Friday Mashup challenge this week is "Vintage", I am adding it there as well:

John noticed a little bird in front of the garage (I think it was a slate-colored junco) that must have injured its wing; Cassidy was fascinated by it and was thrilled that she could pet it.  The bird was not so happy about it!

It managed to fly off around the side of the shed, trying to escape her!! LOL!  She was disappointed but excited that she at least got to touch it!

Friday Mashup 27

Woohoo!  I was chosen as a Friday Mashup maven for this card, so I get to be the guest designer today!  It’s a color challenge from Terry; here you go:

I chose to make a little 3 1/2” x 5” notecard using these colors as I wanted to use an image from Every Little Bit for a thank you card:

I also used the Sweet Sunday sketch #99 for my layout:

Card base is Sahara Sand; cardstock is Pure Poppy, Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy and textured Whisper White; DP is NQN Patterns and Pawsitively Prints.  The image was stamped with Stazon and colored with a marker.  Some scallops, a little clear button, taffeta ribbon and brads complete the card!  You should play with the Mashup girls too!  Hop over to their blog and have some fun!

Friday Mashup 25

This week’s Friday Mashup’s theme is hearts!

I loved Shirley’s card so much ( you can see it here) that I just had to make one for myself!  Check it out:

I used my favorite CAS layout; the Love Letter DPs are the flip side of each other; and my sweet little Greeting Card Kids girl was paper pieced and colored with markers:

I added an oval stamped with A to Z and a little valentine tag (from Lots of Tags) stamped with a sentiment from  Teeny Tiny Wishes and a heart (it IS a heart challenge, remember"?) from Itty Bitty Bits.  And on the inside, some more hearts:

Mashup Challenge 23

One of the perks of being a Mashup Maven at Friday Mashup is that you get to be a guest designer!  Woohoo!  So today, the Mashup Challenge is a sketch:

and since I need a couple more Christmas cards, I chose to make a vintage scene using the snowman from Jolly Old Saint Nick:

with some snowflakes from Northern Hearts as my background images…..all in shades of Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake.  I used a blender pen for coloring and shading; a Glimmer brad to attach my sentiment, which was colored using a Chocolate Chip marker, then punched with the Modern Label punch.  The final embellishment is some VV seam binding and Tinsel trim….I just can’t seem to get away from that stuff!
