March Club Projects

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I am really draggin' today...of course, the gray skies and snow flurries I see out my window might have something to do with that...and the prediction of another nor'easter on its way tomorrow.  That will be #4 for March 2018!!!  And it's the first day of spring!  Anyway, I wanted to share the projects my club participants did this month; I really enjoyed designing them and my stampers seemed to love them too!

Since once of the SAB promotion items is this lovely Springtime Foil DSP, I thought doing an ombre effect with SU's brayers would be fun:

We brayered layers of Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral on a pane, then added a flower from Flower Shop and punched out with the Pansy Punch, colored with a SU Blend.  The sentiment is from Basket of Wishes, punched with the Tailored Tag punch, and finally, we added a border diecut with the Flourish Thinlet; to make it easier to adhere, it was backed with some Adhesive Sheet, so all we had to do was peel and stick!  And here are a couple of other samples I showed them using the same technique:

For the second set of projects, I went "old school", using the One-Sheet Wonder technique that I learned a long time ago when I first became a demonstrator!  Basically, you stamp a whole sheet of cardstock (in our case, just a half-sheet) randomly to create your own designer paper.  Then we cut it into smaller pieces and made two full-size cards and one note card with our stamped panel:

The set Blooms and Wishes is perfect for this type of project; we used Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, Wisteria Wonder and Soft Sky for a springy palette; the sentiments from the same set (and an additional one from Beautiful Bouquet) were stamped in Basic Gray and all diecut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

You can't see it here, but some of the flowers were embellished with a Wink of Stella pen too!  Finally, they learned how to tie a "One-Hole Bow", which is great for keeping your ribbon from slipping off your card.  I did a tutorial for it and you can see it HERE!  And since there is no DSP on these cards, I am entering these in the No Patterned Paper challenge from Cards in Envy!

Ialso made a little gift for my hostess using the Wood Crate Box and the Seasonal Layers Thinlets; my friend Wendy made some really cute Easter-themed ones (you can see them here), but I didn't have any bunnies or chicks or eggs that were current, so I made a spring one with cherry blossoms and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes:

Phew, are you tired of all the photos?!  Thanks for hanging in there with me!

About fifty family members and friends from church went bowling on Saturday; it's really tough for wee ones to get that ball down the lane without going in the gutter (I struggle with it too!):

Mommy helped with the ball guide, and a few times we put up the bumpers too:

But that scoring is really the hard part...checking out to see how she did:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS315 and Inspired By #75 Snowy Gift Bag

Happy Monday, peeps!  Did you have a good weekend?!  Ours was a WHIRLWIND, it was all fun but I will be happy to chill a little bit today!  I have another gift bag I made for the hostess who invited us to dinner on Saturday night!  It uses the theme from Inspired by All the Little Things as well as the sketch from FMS:

I apologize for the poor photography, but it was a challenge to get a good picture!

I used some retired holiday papers; the Swirly Scribble die in some pale green glimmer paper; a banner and some ice skates and a snowflake!  I added some sequins and some glimmery ribbon as well!

And here's what was inside the little bag:

My friend has a beautiful home and her favorite color is red!  I hoped she would like a little hand-knit Santa!  In hindsight, I wish I hadn't added the glitter, but she said she loved it!  If you'd like the pattern, you can find it at Garnstudio HERE.  I changed mine up a wee bit as I didn't have the right yarn for the beard, and I didn't felt mine, but I think he is still cute!  And speaking of Santa, he came a little early to Cassidy's house:

This is Eden!  Personally, I think she should be called Star...look at that little star on her chest!

Do you think Cassidy loves her?

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Stamp Ink Paper challenge!

Paper Players 226

DSCF7074
Happy Sunday, everyone!  The Paper Players are back!  We have new designers added to our team as well as new Guest Designers, so we are excited to start 2015!  Anne Marie is back from her little break and she has a theme challenge for us to help us clean out our craft areas:
I love to recycle things, and I have had this little tag sitting in my scrappy pile for, oh, a couple of years probably!!  It was from something DH got, I believe:
DSCF7072
I recycled it into a tag for one of the Petite Café bags, because I always am in need of masculine gifty things:

I covered the bag front with some of the new, very cool Adventure Bound DSP from the new Occasions mini, and then I began to alter the tag a bit:

I traced the tag on Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped it with the retired background stamp, Canvas, then used Amazing Birthday to stamp the other elements in Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso.  I even used the leather string from the tag to tie my bag together!

So, what can you recycle or reuse for your project this week?  We can’t wait to see!  Check out what the other designers created as well:

SUO97 and CCCB212

DSCF3135
Happy Thursday, peeps!  A cute little project to show you today; this is for two challenges.  City Crafter Challenge has a “What’s Cookin” challenge with this inspiration photo:
Aren’t those photos fun?  And the challenge at SU Only this week is “Something Yummy”!  I had made a little goodie for a friend whose birthday is coming up, so I whipped up this tag and sewed it to one of our littleTag a Bag chevron-printed bags:

I used a sentiment from a new set, Num Num, and stamped it in Soft Sky (which is such a pretty color, but difficult to photograph), adding a little pink heart:

and I mounted it on a tag created from various Chalk Talk dies, using Cool Caribbean cardstock stamped with the Gingham wheel in white, some Blushing Bride DP, and finally, some Crushed Curry chevron ribbon!

The final touches were some “sugar-sprinkled” hearts, made by applying Versamark ink to Pink Pirouette cardstock, adding Heat & Stick powder, heating it, then adding Dazzling Diamonds glitter, heating again, and punching out some hearts and attaching them to the tag:

Happy New Year’s and a Quick Project

Vintage-Snowman-Photo-GraphicsFairy

Happy 2014, everyone!  Isn’t this image from the Graphics Fairy a hoot?  Since we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow, I thought this would be an appropriate image to wish everyone a “Bonne Annee” which I am assuming means a good year!

I have a really quick little project to post today!  I found these cute “chipboard” cards from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden here, and they were perfect for the gift I wanted to give my girlfriend Sharon.  She is one of my biggest card customers and we are at a point in our lives where we don’t need a thing, so I thought to give  her a choice of some greeting cards would be perfect!  However, I didn’t want to just give her a gift certificate to my own “shop”, but I thought a punch card would be fun!  I did the sentiment on the computer, printed it on a card, cut it out and added ten little images around the outside that could be punched each time she redeemed a card.  Here ya go:

I used a font called “Mom’s Typewriter” for the heading, and my favorite little Itty Bitties for the punch spaces:

Then I used some miscellaneous DP from my stash to make an envelope with my SU Envelope Punch Board…what a handy little gadget that is!  And she loved it!

Hope your New Year’s Eve was safe and you are all enjoying 2014 so far!

CCCB164 & MIM

DSCF5827

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I love going away for a few days, but it really messes up one’s routine….I still feel like I am behind!  But it was nice to see my dad for Father’s Day.

My project today is for City Crafter Challenge blog, which is “Clean and Neutral”, based on this photo:

as well as The Kraft Journal’s Make it Monday, which is to use felt, twine or burlap.  I just received my new SU goodies, and these Tag a Bag gift bags were in there!  I used my new Chalk Talk stamp set and framelit to make a gift bag and tag, and I added some “felt” leaves cut with the Autumn Accents Bigz die:

DSCF5831

The felt is actually a remnant piece of that vintage-y “warm” quilt batting (can’t remember the actual name of it) that I have been pushing around my craft room for a while!  I’ve tied the leaves with linen thread.  Now, remember this is to be clean and simple, so there’s not a lot of fuss to this project, but I did do a wee bit of stamping….can you see the tree line from Lovely as a Tree stamped along the bottom of the bag?

DSCF5828

I also love that there are little “hole” dies to use to cut out, well, holes, in the top of the Chalk Talk tag….and in this case, the bag too.  I did find that they sort of jump around on my new magnetic plate (which is pretty awesome).  Apparently the plate is not a solid magnet, but pieces of magnet.  So the little itty bitty hole piece “jumps” until it is on top of a magnet.  It’s a little challenging, but I finally got it to stay still long enough to run it through the Big Shot!!!  I used the Natural burlap trim to tie the bag together:

I can’t wait to play around with this Chalk Talk set some more!

Here’s a pic of my dad and me:

He really does smile sometimes!!!!  And a sweet little photo of Miss Cassidy as well:

Valentine Treat Bag

DSCF2794-001
Happy Wednesday!  I actually made something other than a card!!  Amazing!  The Nacho Average Challenge had a pretty color palette:
Nac32
although I didn’t pay attention to the Rose Red and used a few elements of Primrose Petals…..although I don’t think you can tell too much.  Anyhoo, I pulled out a little cello bag from last year and threw on a bunch of embellishments:
DSCF2795
I began by embossing the top with the hearts EF from Adorning Accents, and used the heart-shaped doily from the Artisan Embellishments Kit as a base.  I just kept adding elements until I felt I had enough….well, can you ever really have enough, LOL!?  This also qualifies for Shopping Our Stash Challenge, which is to use your oldest bling!  The little heart-shaped rhinestones are probably some of my oldest, that’s for sure!!!

Most of the stamping is from SU’s retired set, PS: I Love You; I did break out my new Papillion Potpourri and it’s coordinating punch, though!  Sweet!  AND the new pinwheel die!  Now, what should I put in this?  Maybe a big cookie or a few candies?  Hmmmm…I haven’t decided yet!    If you have any questions about any of the products I used here, just shoot me an email!  AND, I just saw Stampin' Royalty's Valentine/Love challenge....so I'll enter that there as well! :D

Miss Cassidy tried alphabet soup for the first time a couple days ago:

I would say she liked it!  Thanks for visiting today!
