SSC162 and JB Tic Tac Toe Santa

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I've got a vintage-style Christmas card for you today using the Sunday Stamps sketch and the Jingle Belles Tic-tac-toe prompt:

I found this cute little Santa I had printed out from a digital file long, long ago...so long ago, I can't find him again in my computer!  He worked well with the left-hand column of red, glitter and Santa!   I adhered him to a piece of cardstock and fussy-cut him out, then mounted him on a square of Mint Macaron glimmer paper and added a sentiment and sparkly bow. The card background is a paper from KaiserCraft with a bingo card from Simple Stories.  Quick and easy, almost no stamping!

I did stamp some sentiments from My Favorite Things and Holly Jolly Greetings on the inside, and it was done!

Obviously, since Cassidy is not living with us now, it's a little harder to get photos of her...plus she just doesn't want me to take her picture!  Yesterday was "Future Career Day" at school and the students had to dress up as what they wanted to be.....and she grudgingly allowed me to take a picture of her as a future rock star!!!!  Here she is playing air guitar (although she is NOT left-handed!):

And this is her "fake" mohawk, LOL!  You can't see it but there are sparkles in her hair too...very pretty!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MTS188 Country Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  I have a real quick little Christmas card for you today, I would almost call this clean and simple since there is very little stamping and the layers are easy!  I used the Match the Sketch sketch:

along with a cute little Papertrey stamp set called Joyful Christmas!  Here we go:

I stamped the tree in Pear Pizzazz and the base in Always Artichoke to match the cute polka-dotted paper from Simple Stories' Handmade Holiday 12x12 pad.  I punched out a star and added a little sequin to the top, and my banner is a 2" strip of Cherry Cobbler that I punched with the banner punch:

This little sentiment from Oh What Fun just fit in there so perfectly, and it looks so nice in Cherry Cobbler on the Crumb Cake base!  I am pretty sure this will be one of the cards at my next stamp camp!

Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy was quite upset that her bike tire kept going flat....Grampy showed her how to take it off, take out the tube, then wash it with some soapy water...and sure enough, we could hear the air escaping and saw some bubbles!  A little patch and it was as good as new!  Thank heavens for all the Grampys in the world!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 321 Sweet Treats

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's time for a color challenge at the Paper Players, with Laurie as our hostess!

I was thrilled to see this color combo, because it let me play with SU's pretty Presents and Pinecones DSP....which I resisted getting for a while, but so glad I gave in!  I chose to make a couple of treat boxes and a simple card:

We'll start with the card!  I was really just sort of playing around with the leafy images from Foxy Friends, thinking about how they could be turned into a wreath, and it didn't turn it too badly, so I went with it!  I curved the larger frond into a semi-circle and stamped it in Emerald Envy, then added the smaller frond over top in Mint Macaron.  I added a few red glimmer paper  embellishments (Pretty Pines thinlits) and the last little red pearls from my Stitched with Love card kit.  Final touch was a red bow, some speckles (Itty Bitty Backgrounds) and a sentiment from Christmas Pines:

Next up is this adorable triangle treat box!  I just love this and it is easy to make.  I found the directions HERE.  I made my box with Mint Macaron and Presents & Pinecones DSP and liberally decorated it with embellishments from Pretty Pines, some offset Stitched Shapes circles, a banner (Oh What Fun) and some beautiful Emerald Envy ribbon:

Check out those double-layered pinecones in Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper!

And here's the inside (no candy yet!), which I decorated with a sentiment from Oh What Fun:

Finally, SU has these cute little clear treat boxes, so I simply wrapped some polka dotted DSP from a couple of years ago around the center, added a sentiment and some holly (Stitched with Cheer) and filled it up with some mints:

I wrapped the top with the Candy Cane Lane baker's twine and added some of the little bells SU has in the holiday catalog...another level of sweetness!

I hope you'll play along with our fun holiday colors and be sure to check out what the other designers created at the Paper Players!

Well, it finally happened!  After hanging by a thread, Cassidy, with the help of some gum, lost her other front tooth:

I've been singing "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" all weekend long!  Enjoy your day!

Shakin Just for Fun

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Just a quick post today, we are off to a Veteran's breakfast, which is always a nice event!  No challenges today, this card is just for fun! I finally broke down and purchased some of SU's foam strips to use for shaker cards....I know, can you believe it?  Knowing my love/hate relationship with shakers?!!!  But the strips are easy to use and I made just a little shaker:

This Candy Cane Lane DSP is soooo cute, so glad I finally got a chance to play with it!  I used the Stitched Shapes circles to give my Jar of Love a background, cutting the opening by hand and adding some sequins from my stash for the shaker:

Sentiment is from Oh What Fun. Whee, I love this one!  So happy and cheerful!  And thanks to those who gave me some suggestions for my black ink with photopolymer stamps.  I will let you know the outcome!

Cassidy is "teaching" her doll how to play the ABC song on the piano!

Enjoy your day and be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

FMS262 Ho Ho Ho

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Boy, this week is just whizzing by....way too fast, too!  Jen's cute FMS sketch caught my eye yesterday:

I had gotten this Jolly Friends set mostly for the Santa hats and accessories....I wasn't real keen on the elf and Santa faces, but I forced myself to stamp Santa and do some coloring:

Santa was stamped with Memento ink on heavy white cardstock and colored with an aquapainter and some Blushing Bride ink; then I added some Calypso Coral for his cheeks and a wee bit of Smoky Slate as a shadow on his beard.  I punched out his hat with some glimmer papers and mounted it all on a Mint Macaron DSP stitched circle.  The sentiment is from Oh What Fun; the striped piece is from Presents and Pinecones, along with a wee sliver of Cherry Cobbler.   I added a star near the sentiment as well as on the inside:

The holly jolly sentiment is from Stitched with Cheer; the holly is from Oh What Fun.  And I think this IS a fun card!

Tuesday was such a beautiful day...didn't feel like November at all!  After we voted, since Cassidy had no school, we played at the park next to our township building for almost two and a half hours! There were so many kids there, she had a really good time!  After we came home and had lunch, we played outside some more!  And acted silly:

Enjoy your day!

MOJO43 and Curtain Call Felt Snowman

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  My card today is one that, in my mind, was going to be really, really cute.  In reality...not so cute!  But I am not one to let my time spent in my craft room be for naught, so here it is anyway!  I was enthralled by the Curtain Call felt challenge (LOVE felt) and thought I could incorporate the Mojo Monday sketch as well:

So here we go:

I have a fun little W + 9 snowman die set, so I used it to cut out my snowman and scarf, adhering them to another piece of felt that had been cut with a stitched rectangle die (Lil'Inker).  I added some French knot eyes and buttons, and a little Pumpkin Pie glimmer nose:

I adhered some SU snowflake sequins and stamped snowflakes on the background of my Naturals White card.  I stamped a sentiment from Oh What Fun in Lost Lagoon ink and used my NEW Stitched Shapes dies to cut it out.....I used the square one, and after the first cut, I moved the die closer to the sentiment and re-cut just the portion I needed to get a rectangle:

The burlap paper is from BoBunny's Farmer's Market collection!  Thanks for popping in today!

Speaking of felt, I met with some ladies down the road last week to do a craft; the candle mat was felt, but the pumpkins were actually wool:

It was fun to do some different crafting!  Enjoy your day!  I'll have some pix of Cassidy tomorrow!

TSOT Ho Ho Ho

Hi everyone!  I really love our sketch for today's Try Stampin on Tuesday challenge!  This card came together so easily!  Check out the sketch, with the optional theme of "Tag Along":

And now for the card:

Isn't that Santa the cutest?  It's a chipboard piece from BoBunny's Candy Cane Lane; I got it a couple of years ago when I went to visit my friend Sandy on Long Island, and am finally breaking into it!!! I believe the tree paper was a gift from my friend Teri; the others are just from my stash, little scraps!  Look how adorable he is:

The sentiment is from SU's Oh What Fun...it works perfectly here, I think!

And on the inside, I combined the "jolly" from the same SU set with words and stars from Holly Jolly Greetings!  They play well together, don't you think?

I think this is a great, versatile sketch and I hope you'll play along with it this week!  You can submit it on the TSOT blog or try out our Facebook page!

We discovered that Cassidy is too tall to stand on a chair to help me at the counter....she can maneuver her plastic knife pretty well without it now!  She is just growing too fast!

Enjoy your day!
