PP755 Lovely Lemon Thank You

Hi, stamping friends! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week, and it's color challenge week:

I know most of us are thinking fall hues but I wanted to challenge you to use a more spring-like palette!  I needed a thank you card for my SIL since she took care of my flowers while we were on vacation, so what better stamp to use than Layers of Beauty?!  Here we go:

I stamped my florals in Soft Sea Foam, then stenciled in Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam and Lost Lagoon on the petals and leaves.  I found a piece of Lost Lagoon bokeh print from some Christmas DSP we had a few years back and mounted it behind a Penny Black double scalloped fram.  The floral diecut extended beyond the edge of the card, so I just trimmed them off.

A sentiment from Everyday Greetings was heat-embossed in white on a banner of Soft Sea Foam, distressed a wee bit, and then I added a little Lemon Lolly baker's twine behind it as well as a couple of pearls:

Edited to add:  I am also going to enter this over at the Flower Challenge, where their sketch this week is very similar to mine:

I hope you'll play along with our colors this week, too!  The design team came up with some very interesting designs as well!  Be sure to check them out over at the Paper Players blog! Can't wait to see what you come up with!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Flower Challenge 97 Fall Roses

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I haven't played with the Stippled Rose bundle for a long time, and when I saw that The Flower Challenge's theme was "thanks" this month, I jumped right in!  Here we go:

I began by stamping the roses in Copper Clay on Basic Beige cardstock, then used the die to get them out, along with some of those detailed leaves in Mossy Meadow.  Instead of watercoloring the roses as I would normally do, I used a small Tim Holtz blender to blend in Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze inks on the flowers and Mossy Meadow on the leaves.  It's definitely a learning curve, and I did get some green ink where I might not have wanted, but I went back in with a blender pen to add some detail to the smaller areas!

I used a vintage woodgrain paper from Countryside Woods and distressed the edges a bit, then added the flowers.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the paper as well.  My final embellishments were some Natural Sequins and a bow using the Natural Tones Linen Thread in green!  I think you could color these roses in any shade and they'd be beautiful!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Rid yourselves, then, of all evil; no more lying or hypocrisy or jealousy or insulting language.  Be like newborn babies, always thirsty for the pure spiritual milk, so that by drinking it you may grow up and be saved.  As the scripture says, "You have found out for yourselves how kind the Lord is."

The Flower Challenge 92

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Before I hop off to work, I'm sharing my card for The Flower Challenge, which is a sketch:

So here we go:

I stamped, diecut and colored the main image from Stippled Roses, using Pretty in Pink, Mango Melody and Garden Green inks.

The two little circles gave me pause....I tried all kinds of elements, but in the end, I just diecut two more leafy patterns from Basic White cardstock and layered them.  The sentiment is from Unbounded Love:

The side panels are Pretty in Pink DSP and the center panel is embossed with the Eyelet embossing folder. I did add some pearls for some extra prettiness!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Warm Wishes

Happy Friday, all! I am on a Christmas card roll here!  My card today is for two challenges that I rarely participate in; The Flower Challenge, where they want us to color our flowers; and the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge, where they also want flowers!

I pulled out Poinsettia Petals along with the mug from Latte Love and did a little watercoloring---I must confess, I wish I had used a black ink instead of gray, but it is what it is:

I used Smoky Slate to stamp my poinsettia, then watercolored it with Real Red, Flirty Flamingo and Berry Burst inks.  The berries were diecut and colored also, highlighted with a white gel pen.  I happened to have a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock already embossed with this pine embossing folder so I diecut it with the new Spotlight on Nature dies, then added a diecut sentiment. It looked a little plain, so I added some gold pearls to the center. The mug was cut from some retired Dashing Through The Snow DSP.

I'll keep practicing coloring these poinsettias....practice makes perfect, right?  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Quick Hyacinths for Easter

Happy Friday, peeps! I have a quick card today for a few challenges!  The As You See It challenge is a speed challenge, looking for flowers; the Flower Challenge wants a square card; and Retro Rubber is also looking for spring flowers!

And first, a disclaimer; the stamps I used are two-step stamps and I did NOT use a stamp platform because of the speed stamping challenge, so they may look a little blurry....hope your eyes don't cross while looking at them, LOL!  But here we go:

First, let me say that this uber-simple card took me just under six minutes to create, mostly because I had all my supplies at the ready, and as I said, I didn't use a stamp platform except to stamp the words!  The card is 4 1/4" square, and my stamps are from a 2020 set from W+9 called Spring Blessings, stamped in Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron and Garden Green:

I added a quick little bow of Crinkled Seam Binding, and the inside sentiment is from SU's God Bless II, from 2002!  It's an oldie for sure!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Praise God with shouts of joy, all people! Sing to the glory of his name; offer him glorious praise!

PP657 Color Challenge from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope your weekend is going well so far! We're to have a picnic today at church--we'll see how the weather cooperates!  Meanwhile, Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today and her color challenge really did challenge me!  Yikes---check it out!

Oh my...the dreaded Wild Wheat AND Pebbled Path, LOL!  Well, I gave it a go, that's what challenges are for, right?  And I will admit that I was happy with the outcome!  Here we go:

It helped that I had a fun sketch to work with; this one is from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

along with the Dainty Designs stamps and dies.  I stamped the images in Saddle Brown Stazon ink, then colored them with reinkers and an aquapainter.  I adhered them to a Pebbled Path frame diecut with the Countryside Corners dies:

I added Stitched Rectangle panels, embossed with the Timber embossing folder and an embossed sentiment from Inked & Tiled, stamped on Pretty Peacock:

I added a few diecut flowers leaves, and everything went on an embossed panel of Timeworn Type.  These colors are pretty nice for fall, and they work wonderfully together in lighter shades and small doses, LOL!  Since The Flower Challenge is looking for die cuts this week, I am also going to enter it there!

I hope you'll play along with Jaydee's color challenge...don't be intimidated by it like I was, they're really lovely fall colors and I know you'll be able to use them to their best advantage.  Hop on over to the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers did to get some more inspiration!

My two great-nephews are following in their dad's footsteps, learning a lot of outdoor skills; here, they're learning archery while dad watches:

We've got a righty and a lefty!

We recently found out that a little sister will be added to the family...she'll probably learn all this good stuff too!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Beautiful Blooms

Hi peeps!  Happy Saturday!  I am in love with the new Pierced Blooms dies that are in the mini catalog!  I sort of glossed over them at first glance until I realized they were "stitched"....and there are so many dies, there are endless possibilities!  I used the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch along with The Spot's palette for my card today, and I am adding The Flower Challenge as well:

So here we go:

I cut the blooms from Petal Pink and Night of Navy, with leaves of Soft Seafoam:

I added some layers in the challenge colors, stamped a sentiment from Here's a Card on a Whisper White panel and ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder:

I added an Ornate Border in Night of Navy (although it looks black here!) and stamped a sentiment on the inside, adding a few extra blooms for fun:

I can't wait to play with this die set some more!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana gave her coworker a baby shower yesterday; the decor was so cute, I thought I'd share:

My niece Kelly (the Martha Stewart of our family) made the cupcakes..don't they look delicious?!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fall Flowers

Happy Tuesday, all!  I had a few minutes to stamp yesterday between camps, and I was really just kind of fooling around with some watercolored images...wasn't really planning to use them, just practicing, but in the end, when I saw these two challenges, I thought I might go ahead and create a card with it!  The challenges are The Flower Challenge--anything goes, and the Always Fun Challenge, which is asking for fall colors:

My flowers are from Tim Holtz, stamped in Stazon on SU's watercolor paper and colored with Real Red, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Old Olive inks:

I diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die, added a distressed Old Olive mat and mounted it on my card:

The card base is Crumb Cake, and I stamped the "distressed" image from Woven Heirlooms randomly on it before adding a piece of woodgrain paper and a sentiment from Altnew.  I love line-drawn images, they're fun to color!  Thanks for popping in today!

Mommy-daughter lunch date....or I guess maybe it's dessert date!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Simple Flowers

Hi everyone!  I have a quick simple card today, my patterned paper did 99% of the work!  This is my first time playing with The Flower Challenge!  This week they have a sketch:

My papers are all from the Cute Girl line from Crate Paper, except for the yellow flower, which is from Bo Bunny's Petal Lane collection:

The flowers are all diecut from a My Favorite Things flower die; centers were punched from Melon Mambo cardstock with a 3/8" circle punch.  The sentiment Altenew's Label Love, was also stamped in Melon Mambo ink:

Just an easy, fun, bright cheerful card!  Thanks for popping in today--be sure to stop back tomorrow for the next Inspired By challenge!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
