Paper Players 467 Holiday Cheer

Hi stampers!  Happy Sunday!  Claire is our hostess at the Paper Players this week with a fabulous color challenge..bright and cheerful!  Here you go:

At first glance, I panicked a little when I saw the colors---PURPLE!!  But I put on my thinking cap and came up with this:

I used the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch:

and began my making my own "DSP" by stamping some snowflakes in all three colors on a piece of white cardstock.  It looked a little plain, so I did some sponging around the edges for more definition, which looked much better!  I created some sentiments using Concord & 9th dies, layering the "cheer" with three layers of Granny Apple Green cardstock, as well as backing the "holiday" with a wee little strip of Bermuda Bay foil:

I remembered that I had some Bermuda Bay glimmer paper from a couple of years back, so I used that to diecut a snowflake, and added a rhinestone colored with a purple Copic:

My trend lately has been to use non-traditional colors to make a Christmas card, and this one fits that bill as well, but I like it!  I hope you'll play along with these colors as well...you don't have to make a Christmas card, you can use them for whatever you want!  Check out what the DT did as well as the Paper Players blog!

And I just happened to notice this stained glass heart that's hanging in the window in Cassidy's room; it was made by my SIL, and it has the exact same colors as Claire's challenge!  So pretty!

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Sympathy in Purple

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  No challenges today, just cleaning up some scraps on my desk to make them into finished projects!! I know you don't have any of those little bits and pieces hanging around, do you?  LOL!  This little cotton boll and thistle image from Reverse Confetti had been stamped and colored, but after seeing someone using the SU's Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on the Country Home image, I thought it would be fun to add it to this image as well!  So here we go:

The puffy paint certainly makes the cotton bolls look real! I love this effect!

To complement the purple in the thistles, I added some Gorgeous Grape DSP and a couple of Crumb Cake accent pieces.

My second card was for my pastor and his family, since October is Pastor Appreciation month.  I recently got this stamp set from the Stamp Market, and when I saw this card from Silke, I knew I had to recreate it!

I also got my color inspiration from the cover of the seasonal Close to My Heart catalog, LOL!

I stamped another leaf and added this sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB94 Autumn Greetings

Hello peeps!  We're on the downhill slide of the week, looking forward to stamping with some friends tomorrow night, and who knows what the weekend will bring?  Today we have another Inspired By challenge, and here's what I created!  I had SO MUCH fun making this card:

And check out the fun photo that Laurel that inspired it!!!

I have a set of pumpkin dies from Impression Obsession, so I just went rummaging through my scraps of patterned paper, cut a few out, and this is what I came up with!  I also just got the grass die, so I plopped my pumpkins down on the grass and added a sentiment from Right at Home, stamped in Soft Suede:

I ran my Naturals cardstock mat through  my Big Shot with a Wonky Stitched die, then added another sentiment and a leftover pumpkin on the inside:

Quick and easy!  I hope you'll play along with our fun challenge this week too and share your creation with us at Inspired By!  Be sure to check out what the other designers created as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTS339 Pumpkin Note

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Boy, it was decidedly fall-feeling yesterday, so I pulled out a few autumnal-hued papers and coordinating stamps (I have SO MANY!) and created a couple cards using the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch, which I just love:

The first one uses a pumpkin from Right at Home's Grateful Heart set; I stamped it on some watercolor paper and colored it with reinkers:

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart, and the plaid paper is from Carta Bella, the print paper is from Photoplay...I love how that little "pumpkin" is in orange, right above my stamped pumpkin!

I used a corner rounder to round all the corners, as well as the lower corners of my Very Vanilla card, which was embossed with the Subtle embossing folder!  For the next one, I used some more images from the same Right at Home set, mounting them on a piece of Authentique paper, then adding a tiny sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit:

I used Blends to color these in; has anyone ever had a Blend come apart so that the wick comes out?  That happened to one of mine...a bit frustrating for sure!

Anyhoo, that's it for today...thank for popping in and be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

This girl still loves her blankie....and her lambie...and Ginger!!  Although I am not quite sure why she's sleeping on the floor!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB108 Rainbow Bright

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for another Retro Rubber Challenge...this theme seems to be quite popular lately!  So here we go:

Image may contain: text

For my card, I chose to use a set I got around 2016 from Right at Home called Color In Sentiments, along with some MFT flower dies:

I used the same die for each color of flower; I colored the words with SU blends, then mounted it all on a card base embossing with a large polka dot embossing folder.  The last thing I did was to add a little glimmer paper center to each flower for fun!

I love the final effect!  I am also entering it at Festive Friday's challenge this week as well:

#festivefridaychallenge, #fF0031, Earth Day, Rainbow

Be sure to check out what the DT has done at the RRCB blog, and we hope you'll play along too.  Remember that your stamps have to be at least a year old, and tell us the age in your post!  Happy stamping!

Making pancakes is serious business!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Thankful in Gold

Happy Monday, peeps!  What a lovely fall weekend we had!  Did you remember to set your clocks back?  I love having an "extra" hour, but hate that it gets dark so early!!  I have one of my stamp clubs coming this morning, so this will be short and sweet!  My card today is for two challenges, the Inkspire Me color challenge and the Festive Friday Thanksgiving/Thank You challenge:

#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0020, Stampin Up, Thanksgiving, Thank you

And here we go:

I had a piece of Sahara Sand already cut to mat size in my folder, so I embossed it with Sahara Sand ink and the Buffalo Check background stamp.  The wreath is from a new-to-me company, Fun Stampers Journey; it was stamped in Mint Macaron and fussy-cut.  I heat-embossed some leave with Gold Encore ink and gold embossing powder, then added some "berries" punched with a 1/8" punch:

The "Thankful" is a die from Close to My Heart, as is the "give thanks" sentiment that I stamped on the inside left of my card; the blessing sentiment is from Right at Home:

I managed to give a lot of companies some love for this card, LOL!

After our shoebox packing party on Saturday, Cassidy went to the pastor's house, where she took charge and gave the boys some karate lessons!  It gave the pastor's wife a little break and they were both sad when Daddy came to pick her up!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Grateful Heart

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope all is well with you in your little corner of the stamping world!  I saw a pretty color challenge at Inspire.Create, and I am willing to bet when you see it, you'll be surprised at what came of it!  So first, I'll show you my card; it features an older SU image that I found on ebay, and it is perfect for some seasonal watercoloring:

And here is my challenge prompt:

Image may contain: text

These colors look very "flowery" to me, but when I thought about putting them together on this scene, they worked into some pretty fall colors!  I just used inks of all the shades with an aquapainter after stamping the image on watercolor paper with Stazon ink:

I framed it with an Avery Elle stitched rectangle frame, and then stamped a sentiment from Right at Home below it:

That's pretty good advice by which to start one's day, any time of the year, don't you think?!  And since my image was watercolored, I am also entering it in the Paperminutes challenge of watercolors!  Thanks for popping in today!

SO.....on Wednesday afternoon, Cassidy caught her thumb in the car door!  Youch!  It didn't break the skin (or even get a bruise that I could see), but Mommy gave her some Tylenol and took her to the ER for some x-rays anyway:

Dana said the doctor made her laugh!  And blessedly, she only had a sprain, so no cast, just a splint!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASC&S291 Give Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  HAPPY OCTOBER!  I have never been so delighted and thankful to turn September's calendar page to a new month!  Hopefully all the rain and humidity will stay away!  Looking forward to cooler days, I made a little CAS Thanksgiving card with some stamps that I got at the end of last year and finally had a chance to ink up:

I am squeaking this in for the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge sketch, which ends today:

My little mice are courtesy of Lawn Fawn, the leaves are from a Right at Home set, and they were all stamped in Memento ink and colored with blends:

I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie and added a tiny little heart in Cajun Craze.  I already had a Sahara Sand card base sitting on my desk, so I popped it on there and called it a day!

Over the weekend, I had a friend of mine from upstate NY come down with a friend of hers for a visit!  Another family friend came to visit all of us and brought four of her six children (and she has another on the way!!).  The girls all love to do crafts and were enamored of my craft room, even though it was quite messy!  They wanted to make a card, but we didn't really have time, so I let them use some of my punches and scrap paper and take the punch-outs home!  Between looking at cards......

and punching out stars, hearts, butterflies and balloons, they ALL had a good time!  Even though Molly is only five, she mastered those punches like a boss!  Ruby, Gayle and Kay had fun too!

And just for fun, I found a picture of the oldest, Kay, (she is 14 now), from six years ago when she came to craft with me for an evening:

They all want to come back when Cassidy is home to play and craft with her!  Enjoy your day and be blessed, and thanks for popping in!
