IB149 Holly Jolly Wishes

Hello peeps!  Happy Thursday...it's time for a new Inspired By challenge!  Check out the fun photo for this week, along with the optional sketch:

Aren't they fun?  I didn't really have any dies that said "merry & bright", but I did have some that said "holly jolly", along with a woodcut stamp, so here we go:

The woodcut was stamped in Crumb Cake, and the sentiment in Real Red and Call Me Clover cardstocks.  I diecut some holly leaves from Shaded Spruce, and added a couple of banner sentiments from the retired Endless Wishes:

The background was embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder, and I added some Holiday Rhinestones as berries!  I didn't use the IB sketch this week, but used the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch:

I hope you'll play along with our fun challenge this week...check out all the designs at the IB blog!  See you there!

And how about a wee bit of Halloween mayhem:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP127 All Wrapped Up

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Our latest Stamp Ink Paper challenge is a fun one---All Wrapped Up!

No automatic alt text available.

I already had this little snowman from Seasonal Chums colored and cut out, so I set out to do something with him!  The stamp presents itself as a tag, but I didn't necessarily want to use him as a tag, but I did use him as an embellishment on a little Wood Crate:

I created the crate with the Wood Crate die, using Smoky Slate cardstock and stamping the Hardwood background stamp on it with Craft White ink.  I used a few retired products to create my little "sign" in Real Red and Bermuda Bay, then added some Mini Tinsel Trim and some holly leaves from the Quilt Builder die.  The berries were created with a scrap of Real Red Glimmer paper and my 1/8" circle punch:

Last, I added a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter and some recycled tissue paper from my latest Paper Pumpkin (which I haven't even opened yet!!):

The design team has created some wonderful tags and packaging....be sure to check them out, leave some love, and share your gifty packaging with us as well!  Can't wait to see what you bring to the party!

Cassidy got her own little snowman over the weekend...unfortunately it's one of those annoying toys that mimics what you say....thank goodness there's an "off" button!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF107 and CTS212 Project Life Cards

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have had a couple of busy days and the blog got a bit neglected!  So I have two cards today; I liked the Fab Friday sketch 107:

but I didn't want to use a doily for the semi-circle....then I remembered that I have a couple of boxes of Project Life products that needed some love!!!  This floral image came from the Hello Lovely kit:

I mounted it on a Soft Sky card on which I embossed the lower half with the Seaside embossing folder.  I found that the embossing made my card a wee bit "wobbly" so I added a layer of thick white cardstock on the backside and it worked wonderfully!  The sentiment is from Watercolor Wishes, stamped on a retired SAB designer paper.  I added some stamped florals from Timeless Textures, SAB ribbon and a few gold sequins to complement the gold foil mat!

While I had my Project Life cards out, I made another card using the CTS sketch:

I must have been in a Soft Sky mood!  I stamped a few flowers from Endless Thanks directly onto the polka-dotted PL card, then stamped the sentiment and stripey element in Soft Sky and Smoky Slate:

It's not at all what I first envisioned when I saw this sketch, but it's certainly unique, LOL!  It sort of reminds me of pebbles!  Anyway, thanks for popping in, and be sure to stop back tomorrow for the next Paper Players challenge!

We have had some crazy weather lately....February brought temps in the 70s, and yesterday, we had snow!  Wet, damp, heavy snow....so we made a snowman:

Pretty stylish, right?!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 266 Very Merry Christmas

DSCF2291

Happy Sunday, all!  It’s Jaydee’s turn to hostess the Paper Players this week and she has a fun color challenge for us:

At first, I panicked, because I just had NO IDEA what to do with these colors!  Then I saw the CAS(e) This Sketch for this week:

and my brain kicked into gear!  My DT teammate Laurie is the QUEEN of dies, and she “enabled” me to get these cute Impression Obsession dies (DIE220-Q) a while ago:

I simply diecut them in the corresponding colors and adhered them down (that was the hardest part!!)!  The sentiment diecut is from Simon Says Stamp (Deco Tree), along with a stamped sentiment from SU’s Endless Wishes:

Everything was adhered to a Lil’Inker Stitched Rectangle and popped up on a white card base!  We cannot wait to see what you do with these cheerful colors!  Share your project with us at the Paper Players and meanwhile, check out what the other designers created:

Rock star!

Paper Players 254 Faux Shaker Card

DSCF0947

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for another Paper Players challenge with Laurie as our hostess, and she’s got a CAS challenge for us this week:

Fun, huh?  The DT has some really cute samples using eyeglasses, but alas, I have no eyeglass stamps or dies, but I did have a new cool Simon Says Stamp die called Holiday Frames that I was hankering to use!  My first thought was to make a shaker card.  I love shaker cards!  However, after almost an hour of trying to cut my foam strip (which is extremely sticky) narrow enough for the edge, I gave up and chucked it.  Hence, I made a FAUX shaker card:

Please don’t laugh….you know the issues that can be had with shaker cards….they can be challenging to assemble!  And yes, I know, it’s just got the sequins GLUED on, but the weather is sticky, the sequins jump all over the place and this is supposed to be clean and simple, so this is my story and I’m stickin’ to it!  Anyway, the frame is cut from Gold Foil; the background paper is some stash I’ve had forever; the sequins were a gift from Verve (love the colors), along with some retired holiday snowflakes from SU, and the baker’s twine is SU’s gold.  I used a one-hole bow again to make sure it didn’t wiggle off:

And just for a little extra sparkle, although you can’t see it very well, I heat embossed some snowflakes from Endless Wishes with Versamark and Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the card base:

Please be sure to check out the Paper Players blog to see all the designers’ handiwork:

And be sure to play along!

Last week, Cassidy went to VBS where she learned about missionaries Jim and Elisabeth Elliot; if you don’t know their story, you can read the children’s version here.  Cassidy didn’t talk much about it during the week, but she did finally get excited when they talked about the Elliot’s daughter, Valerie, who was just a baby when Jim gave his life.  Of course, there was a doll there representing Valerie and she was quite enamored with the doll……as she is her own dolls!  Valerie and Elisabeth continued Jim’s work, so God’s purpose was fulfilled despite their loss. The children learned about the jungle as well; here she is with her parrot mask:

and the necklace she made; I think the white things are supposed to be teeth (I hope not bones)!!!  She had a great time and the teaching team did an awesome job as well.

MM163, JUGS297 & CTS127

DSCF0525

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have been really struggling with creativity and energy these last few weeks…..and the heat and humidity lately have not helped at all.  Poor John….I have been a bit crabby lately!  I tried to cool off by making a quick Christmas card, but even that didn’t help much:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday Christmas Card Red Snowflake

I used the red and white theme from Merry Monday:

as well as the sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch:

and the JUGS challenge to use stacked diecuts:

Nothing was working for me, but I persevered long enough to finish my Christmas card; I used snowflake diecuts from Taylored Expressions and the word “merry” is from Paper Trey.  I added a couple of sentiments from Endless Wishes and Endless Birthday Wishes along with some rhinestones to finish it off!  Hopefully my mojo will return some time this week!

Cassidy finally convinced her mommy to let her cut her hair a little bit…morning brush-outs were becoming brutal!  She looks more grown up and the brushing is MUCH better!

More Christmas Cards

DSCF6225

Happy Friday, peeps!  Wow, is it cold where you live?  We actually had some sleet last night and I know some areas are snowy…..with LOTS of snow!  And speaking of snow, check out this card I made while I was at my friend Sandy’s a couple weeks ago!  She graciously let me borrow White Christmas and Holiday Home!  I loved the combination of Basic Black and Coastal Cabana:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings White Christmas Stampin Up

I struggled with the sentiment, until I got home and tried my Endless Wishes with a little banner…perfect!  I stamped, colored and diecut a few of the houses from Holiday Home, and assembled this one at home too…I had already made the sentiment for another card but decided against it, so I added it to this one:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Holiday Home Stampin Up Endless Wishes

It’s a bit hard to see but the “very merry christmas” is heat embossed with silver embossing powder on brushed silver cardstock.  I diecut it with an oval die from Word Bubbles, then just cut off the little “hook”!

Enjoy your day!

Having a snack in the back yard….won’t be able to do this the next few days, LOL!  Brrrrrr!

AYSI 61 Guest Designer

DSCF6065

Happy Friday, peeps!  I was honored to be asked to be a guest designer by the sweet girls at As You See It this week!  Check out this yummy color challenge:

AYSIChallenge061

I recently received a wonderful card from a stamping friend and it featured a cool fold!  I know these have been around for a while, but I have never made one!  She shared that she got the directions from Julie Davison’s blog here!  Her directions are really easy, so I got to work with the colors to make a sparkly Christmas card:

Here’s a view of the side:

The sentiment embellishment:

And the inside:

I used Seasonally Scattered and Endless Wishes stamps, and Trim the Tree and Under the Tree Specialty papers along with Silver Glimmer paper and papers in the challenge colors.  I experimented with several different silver elements and in the end, decided on some silver heat embossing on a tag, which I put on top of a silver glimmer paper diecut.  Wondering where that oval diecut came from?  It’s a Word Bubble, and I just trimmed off the little “hook” on the side!  Cool!  Some narrow silver ribbon added the final touch!

I hope that you will play along with us this week…the AYSI challenges are a lot of fun and hopefully, you come back each week!!

Hunting for acorns….just for fun!
