RRCB251 Little Cuties Birthday

Happy Wednesday, peeps! My pastor's daughter is having a birthday, so this card is for her! Since the Retro Rubber challenge is "Anything Goes", I decided to go with that, using a set from 2017 called Little Cuties...it's a favorite go-to stamp for children and Easter!

So here we go:

I know my pastor's children always wanted pets, but alas, the only pets they have are hamsters! I don't have any hamster stamps, so this was the next best thing!  I stamped each animal in Smoky Slate ink, then colored them in with Blends.

I added a Fresh Freesia scalloped mat, a few sequins and some sequined ribbon and mounted it all on a panel of Fresh Freesia DSP and matching card:

Another retired stamp called Little Delights (2021) had the perfect sentiment for the inside:

Hope she likes it!  And just as an aside....if you need to know the date of any stamp, you can go on Splitcoaststampers.com and look in the galleries.  The Stampin' Up one has all their stamps and the date they came out!  Very helpful!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP726 Sketch from Stef

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Stef is our Paper Players hostess and she has a fun sketch for us to try out:

I needed a little boy card, so I pulled out Dino Days and here's what I came up with:

I diecut and stamped the images in Old Olive, Granny Apple Green and Pumpkin Pie and arranged them on some diecut circles:

My card base is Granny Apple Green with some retired Dandy Designs DSP.  The inside was stamped with a sentiment from Little Delights. The font on this sentiment is one of my favorites!

This sketch is wide open with possibilities!  We hope you'll let it inspire you and share your creativity with us at the Paper Players too!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Little Gifty Things

Hi peeps! Just popping in with a quick little post; I wanted to make Cassidy a little candy gift for Valentine's and while I was at it, I made a tea bag gift for a friend of mine as well:

These are super-easy to make; you can google tea bag holder and find some tutorials.  I used the video from Brenda Keenan; you can see it HERE.  It only uses one piece of 6x6 DSP along with whatever scraps you need for embellishments!

I used the Toadstool Gardens DSP along with the Hugs for Love stamp on the candy one, along with some Fresh Freesia ribbon.  The tea bag holder used some Lemon Lime Twist retired DSP along with Hugs For Love, Banner Year and Little Delights stamps.  I did diecut a little Daffodil Delight with the retired Pierced Blooms dies, and I used a retired oval punch too!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Minimalist Purple Thanks

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Yay, the middle of the week is here!  I have a zippity-quick CAS card that took longer to look up the age of the stamps than it did to actually stamp them!  Yes, it's for the Retro Rubber challenge, which is a color palette, as well as the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch:

So here we go:

My foliage is from Little Delights (2021), stamped in Blackberry Bliss and Highland Heather, with the little spots from Label Me Bold (2020), stamped in Purple Posey:

The sentiment is also from Label Me Bold, (which I now realize is in the wrong spot!), and fussy cut.  It went on a Purple Posey card base, and a sentiment from Little Delights was stamped inside as well! I was going to add a sequin but decided to keep it really clean and simple!

I really like the simplicity of this!

An out-of-town friend came and spent the night last week and when she got in her car early Saturday morning, found these on her window:

Aren't they pretty?  These beautiful crystals reminded me of something I read in my Bible study yesterday:  "So, enjoy the art around you, but as you do, may your heart run to the artist behind the art." Paul David Tripp

Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB242 Grateful Heart

Happy Friday, everyone! The weekend is ahead, and it's a busy one for us, so I'll make this quick!  The Retro Rubber challenge is to make a fall card and since October is Pastor Appreciation month, AND it's almost over, I thought I'd better get to creating something for our pastor!

My pastor likes things PLAIN!!  Which is a challenge when you're a card-maker, as we want to add all kinds of doodads on our cards!  So this card is kind of plain but I did add some colors and patterns that kept to a fall theme:

I used the retired Stitched Leaves dies to cut out this pretty leaf; my papers are from Simple Stories and Authentique.  The sentiment is from Banner Year from 2020.  I used oval punches to punch it out, and I added another wee little maple heart from Itty Bitties, which I've had since 2013!  I actually made another card before this one, changing the orientation of the leaf and adding a woven linen knot, but it didn't look quite right, so I made another one!  What do you think?

The inside sentiment is from Little Delights, from 2021.  I love the font in this one!

Thanks for popping in today! Gotta go make a pumpkin roll!  Enjoy the day and be blessed!

Ho Ho Ho

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a Christmas card today (I am still making them!) for three different challenges!  The CAS Colours & Sketches wants us to use a challenge from the past (I chose sketch #467); TGIF wants us to use punches; and CAS on Sunday wants us to make it Christmas!

So here we go:

I used the Santa Hat Builder punch to punch out hats in red and white glimmer paper.  The sentiments are from a CTMH set, stamped in Shaded Spruce and mounted on banners of starry DSP

The inside just has a simple sentiment in Real Red; it's from the retired Little Delights set:

Fun and cheerful! Thanks for popping by today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

You're A Blessing

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Tomorrow at church we'll honor our pianist/organist who has made our worship so much more meaningful during the last FORTY years!  Can you believe that?  Forty years!  She has a master's degree in music and plays at nursing homes and for many choruses besides at our little church! She is also a teacher and Dana was her student as well!  So here's the card I made to thank her for all her music over the years:

Although it's technically not a Christmas card, I did use some beautiful Christmas papers from Kaiserkraft, adding a Balmy Blue glimmer paper scallop and a sentiment from Little Delights; the card base is Sahara Sand, and it's larger than a standard A4 card because I wanted to get all of that image at the top:

Since it was a larger card, I created my own envelope with an envelope punch board, and added a scallop of the same paper along the edge:

And I used a large sentiment from Pinkfresh's Scripted Bold Sentiments on the inside:

I am also entering this at the Color Dare 476, where they want to see pastel shades!  I did use a blue shade for my sentiments, so I hope they won't disqualify me!!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

A Special Halloween Card Plus Cards from Friends

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a fun card to share with you and it is a CASE from my special friend Karen! She sent me this neat Halloween card with a cool fun fold inside:

Aren't those papers cute?  And here's the inside; I love it!

I CASEd her fun fold (it's very similar to the diamond-fold cards I recently made) for a very special someone; I used a bunch of retired Halloween sets and dies from my stash:

And here's my inside:

Karen used a velcro dot to hold hers together but since I couldn't find mine, I used a couple of little magnets!  Now, on to some more goodies from my friends!  My stamping buddy Sandy, who is always SO generous to me, gave me a couple gifts in this ADORABLE bag she made herself!  The postcard image is printed on clear acetate...it's amazing!!  I can't stop looking at it!

Oh my gosh, so cute!

And this stunning card is from my friend Doris; the leaf is red foil and it moves back & forth!

My Paper Players teammate Nancy sent me this gorgeous fall beauty: I need to do one of those raised sentiments like she did:

And when my sweet friend paid me a surprise visit from Michigan, she brought this cutie with her:

I am so blessed to have crafty friends!  Enjoy your day and be blessed too!

ICC102 Pumpkin Wreath

Happy Monday, peeps!  So happy to have you stop by today!  I have two cards using the beautiful gingham DSP from You're A Peach, which I totally forgot about until I made my Paper Players card yesterday!  Why was I hoarding it?  I loved the sketch from Inspire.Create, and I needed a pumpkin-themed card so it was perfect!

Our neighbors are an older couple and they have a fabulous garden every year!  He gave us some pumpkins (which I didn't photograph because it was dark when I made this card!!!) but I thought it would be nice to send them a thank-you card featuring pumpkins!  I used dies from Seasonal Swirls and cardstocks in all the colors of the pumpkins he gave us!

The wreath was cut from Soft Succulent with some extra Crumb Cake leaves, and the pumpkins are Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Lost Lagoon (ret), Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie; the sentiment is from Little Delights, cut with a Tasteful Label die:

And of course, the sentiment from Pretty Pumpkins was perfect for the inside:

While I had the pumpkin set out, as well as the gingham, I made another card.  For fun, I embossed the gingham with the Stitched Greenery die, then heat embossed the pumpkin with white embossing powder on Soft Succulent cardstock:

The "hello" is from Biggest Wish:

I think this is one of the loveliest colors!

Our harvest party at church was slightly damp, but it did stop raining long enough for us to have our bonfire, go on a hayride and make really, really good apple cider!

After the initial cloud burst, it stayed a little cloudy, but we were treated to a rainbow!

Dana became pretty adept at roasting hot dogs over the campfire:

By the time the hayride was ready, it was a beautiful evening!

But my favorite part is watching them make apple cider!  The apples go into the grinder, then the press, and then out comes the cider!  Wayne got a good workout--here's a short video! (Make sure you're on my actual blog to watch it, not on an email!)

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
