GDP201 and TSOT420 Peaceful Deer

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Hope your week is going well!  I have a Christmas card to share today using the Global Design Project colors as well as the latest Try Stampin On Tuesday sketch:

I've been using mostly white card bases, so I thought I would use a colored one this time, Pretty Peacock.  I used a piece of Pretty Peacock DSP for my banner, and a Dashing Deer stamped in Merry Merlot for my circular focal point:

I used some Mossy Meadow cardstock for a few pine sprigs from the retired Pretty Pines dies, and "tied" them with some Cherry Cobbler thick baker's twine.  The sentiment is from Merry Christmas to all; I taped off most of the sentiment, inked up "peace" then pulled off the tape and stamped it on a tiny piece of Whisper White that was left over from some stitched diecutting!

I did use a Tim Holtz embossing folder called Deer Knit because it looked so pretty with my deer and evergreens!

I added a white mat on the inside and stamped another sentiment and swirl from Merry Christmas to All:

Hope you enjoyed it!  And from Christmas to summer; remember my almost-blooming sunflowers?  Check these out, all courtesy of my birds at my bird feeder, LOL!

Don't they just make you SMILE!?  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TMS508 Warm Christmas Wishes

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Summer vacation schedule has got me a wee bit in disarray....my crafting time has to be done in the evening, and I'm having a little bit of trouble adjusting, LOL!  But I am sure we'll get ourselves into a routine!  I got some new goodies and I couldn't wait to use this new set, Rustic Retreat!  I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch for this week:

And here we go:

The base is Naturals White, and the DSP is from the Magnolia Lane series; I stamped the image in Memento Black and colored it with Blends, then fussy cut it and popped it up over a second stamped image:

I added a Cherry Cobbler sentiment and vertical panel, along with the pine branch stamped in Mossy Meadow and embellished with some Old Olive Linen Thread:

A sentiment from Merry Christmas to All, along with some more pine branches:

Another Christmas card for my stash!  How is your stash coming along?  Have you started making yours yet?  Better get busy!

We had really heavy clouds all day yesterday, and I didn't think it would be a good day to hit the pool, but later in the afternoon the sun broke through, so I got out the sprinkler....

They loved laying on the ground and waiting for the spray to hit them in the head, LOL!  It's amazing what a little bit of water can do to entertain a couple of kids!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Two Easy Cards

Hi everyone!  Wednesday already, this week is flying by!  I have two really simple cards for two challenges that happen to be fairly similar!  This birthday card for my niece is from  the Inspire.Create Challenge; here's their sketch:

No photo description available.
And here's my simple card; I used some My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Heirloom papers and a couple of older Paper Pumpkin stamps:

I did some paper piecing for this big funky flower:

And here is another one using the same sketch and the Painted Season bundle:

I just love this color!!!

My next card uses the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

My friend MaryAnne lent me her Best Bunny stamp and bundle, and when I saw this pretty pattern on the Painted Seasons DSP, I knew I had to use it to make an easy baby card:

I colored him with some Blends, stamped some stars directly onto the paper and diecut the sentiment with a die from Stitched Labels!  Another easy fun sketch!!  And here's another card I made with the same sketch....can you tell I was making samples with the Painted Seasons DSPs!?, LOL:

I love these papers!!  Thanks for popping in today!  If you need any info on supplies, give me a shout...I am too lazy today to list them all!!

So you notice Eden has a coat.....but Cassidy does not!  She's never cold!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF0028 Glimmer Christmas

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a very quick (and late) post today; this card is so simple, it's almost embarrassing!  The Festive Friday challenge for this go-round is Mardi Gras or Glimmer Paper, and since my Christmas card stock is very low, I chose glimmer paper!

So here we go:

I already had a Blueberry Bushel card front cut and scored, so I used that as my base; I cut some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper with one of the Hometown Greetings Edgelit dies and adhered it to the front (hard to see the sparkle!!):

Then, I attempted something new...I tried to "color" my glimmer paper "Merry" (cut from Merry Christmas Thinlets) with Blueberry Bushel ink and a brayer....it worked a little bit, but mostly got glitter on my ink pad, LOL!  Did you know that a sticky lint brush from the Dollar Store works great to get glitter off most anything?  It's a staple in my craft room!  Anyway, I had already adhered this piece of glimmer paper to an adhesive sheet, so it was very easy to adhere it to my card!  I added a sentiment from Merry Christmas to All, diecut with a Rectangle Stitched die, some sequins, and it was done!

I am also adding this to the Jingle Belles' All That Glitters challenge!!

I am not sure what you call these little magnetized building things, but they're sure fun to play with!

According to Cassidy, this is a man looking through a telescope...yep, I can see that!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

IB49 Retro Santa

Hi stampers!  I have been fighting a cold or something for the last couple of weeks and I think it got the better of me....so this will be quick!  Laurel has a fabulous retro Inspired By for us today...my mind was whirling with possibilities when I saw it.  Sadly, I just wasn't up to being too creative so my card is pretty simple:

And here is her cute photo prompt:

My Santa is from a retired Artistic Outpost set called Frosty and Friends; I stamped him in Real Red, then gave him a wee bit of color with some Blends:

His nose looks sort of how mine feels, LOL!  I matted him in Glorious Green and gave him some holly berries just like on the DSP I used for the other layer!  Red Glimmer Paper made a wonderful diecut sentiment using the Merry Christmas Thinlets, along with a sentiment from Merry Christmas to All:

The layout I used is the FMS sketch for this week:

and finally, a sweet little sentiment from Papertrey for the inside:

I have a lot of digital images that I could have used for this challenge, and I'll bet you have some fun things you could use as well! I just need a few more hours in my day!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

Getting ready to prank Mommy with a fake egg!  Silly girl!

AYSI189 Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone!  Yay, it's Friday and the weekend is upon us!  Looking forward to it!  The As You See It challenge for this week is a fabby sketch:

No automatic alt text available.

What a great layout...terrific for using up little bits of DSP, right?!  I still need a few Thanksgiving cards, so I pulled out some DSP with fall colors and images, along with a new Spellbinders die I got recently:

I made my card 3 1/4" by 5 1/2"; it still fits in a standard envelope, but I could have my little acorn cap pop up above the fold!  All the papers are from Echo Park's Fall Is In The Air 6x6 pad, from which I chose four coordinating patterns for the background.  Then the acorn was diecut from two more different pieces, and I backed the cap with some So Saffron for better definition.  I added a stamped "happy" and the Thanksgiving was diecut from Old Olive cardstock:

I added a piece of Mossy Meadow twine on the stem, a little diecut leaf in Cajun Craze, then stamped a sentiment from Technique Tuesday on the inside, and added a little stamped leaf and a big diecut ampersand:

This sketch just makes me happy and I know I'll be using it again soon!  I hope you'll check out what the DT created, and be sure to share your creation with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

We got our first snowfall yesterday and I had filled the feeders a couple days before, so we got lots of finches and sparrows!  With taking the tree down in our backyard over the summer, my birds had no cover and didn't come around at all!  I put the feeder in a different spot and they are returning!  I think this is a house finch and some sort of sparrow:

Another sparrow, taking cover under the patio chair; maybe a white-throated:

and this duo, perched in the gutter, surveying it all:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
