PP679 Rain or Shine

Happy Sunday, peeps! Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and this week Claire has a theme challenge for us! I must admit, it was quite timely because it rained cats and dogs yesterday:

I took my cue from those fun red rainboots and dusted off this Impression Obsession die to create my card today:

I used the FMS sketch:

and I used some SAB papers, some pretty scalloped borders and a sentiment from the retired Under My Umbrella  I just love how realistic these boots are! I added some flowers from the Umbrella set as well:

Our photo prompt has lots of possibilities, so I hope you'll play along with us!  Share your creation at the Players blog, and check out the DT creations as well to get some fun inspiration!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy's recreation basketball team won their tournament yesterday! All the girls played hard and although she didn't make any 3-pointers this time, she did make several baskets!  It amazed me how good they are!  Here she is, getting her medal (sorry the pictures aren't better...my phone takes lousy shots!:

I look forward to her playing on the high school team next year...although she'll be a little fish in a big pond there, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC522 Rain or Shine

Hello peeps!  Happy Tuesday!  I have a fun card today featuring some new stuff and some old stuff!  I love playing with old and new and mixing them up!  It uses the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

And it's also for the theme at the Global Design Project:

And here we go:

This lovely pale yellow is one of SU's new colors, Lemon Lolly!  Isn't it pretty with the Balmy Blue?  I pulled out some older DSPs, a sentiment from the retired Under My Umbrella, and a couple of dies that were appropriate for the theme!

I diecut the boots and umbrella from Lemon Lolly as well, added some shading and some black accents and stamped the sentiment in Memento black. I added some Lemon Lolly floral diecuts for fun!!  The inside sentiment is from the new Circle Sayings, stamped in Balmy Blue, Memento Black and Lemon Lolly, and punched out with the coordinating punch:

This will be going to a special friend for her birthday!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana and some friends went to a pottery workshop and did some pottery painting!  She made some trivets:

I believe they now have to be fired; I'll let you know what the finish product looks like!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PCC499 Showered With Love

Happy Thursday, peeps! I needed a bridal shower card for this weekend, and the bride loves anything purple! The upcoming SAB paper called Dainty Flowers had some beautiful florals along with a cute little Fresh Freesia polka dot, so I combined them with the sketch from Paper Craft Crew:

I also used some old products to mix with the new!  Here we go:

I have virtually nothing that works for a bridal shower other than hearts, so I used the retired Stitched Be Mine dies to make a layered heart with the DSP and some Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  I used the Stitched Rectangle dies for the cardstock layers, and another piece of the DSP for the horizontal banners.  It looked a little plain, so I adhered some loops of rose-colored metallic thread under the heart:

A little sentiment from the retired Under My Umbrella provided the sentiment:

Hope she likes it!

My friend took these pictures of our church on Christmas Eve:

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP587 CAS April Showers

Happy Sunday, peeps, Happy Easter!  Claire is our Paper Players hostess this week with a seasonal CLEAN AND SIMPLE challenge!  Check it out:

I chose to use the umbrella from Under My Umbrella (retired) and the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

I confess, the sketch scared me a wee bit, but since it was a Clean and Simple challenge, I decided to do some simple blending to create that background.  (Be kind, I am still learning the ropes with my blending brushes, LOL!)  So here we go:

For my background, I simply took a sheet of acetate and laid it on my cardstock, then used my blending brush and some Balmy Blue ink to create the "rays".  I then punched out an umbrella from some Balmy Blue gingham DSP but it really didn't seem to match so well, so I did another from Bermuda Bay...better!  I stamped a floral image and fussy cut it out, adhering it atop a sentiment banner and an embossed circle:

I added a few sequins and a couple of birthday sentiments to the inside and it was done!  It's not as CAS as I normally do but there are only a couple of layers and a good bit of "white" space!

I hope you'll have fun with our Clean and Simple challenge this week!  Check out what the designers did over at the Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!  Remember to keep it clean and simple!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

"As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.  "Don't be alarmed," he said.  "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.  He has risen! He is not here.  See the place where they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee.  There you will see him, just as he told you'."

AYSI271 Speed Stamping

Happy Friday everyone! Time for a new As You See It challenge and even though it's the dreaded "Speed Stamping" (10 minutes or less), I couldn't help laughing out loud at the challenge photo and theme:

In light of the weather (or maybe I should say LACK of light) we've had lately...this was very apropos! Rain, rain, rain!!!  Although my first thought was to use an umbrella, I had this die pulled out to make some spring creations, so I thought it would be fun to use for this challenge as well!  Boots help keep our feet dry, right?!  SO...here we go, in just under 10 minutes (9 minutes and 51 seconds!):

I gathered my supplies and some DSP from the Pleased As Punch (retired) line, then quickly went to work!  I diecut the boots from some of the rainbow-patterned paper and added a wee little silver foil buckle, then stamped the sentiment from last year's Under My Umbrella on to a diecut panel.  I added a little strip of leftover rainbow paper and some sequins (which spilled on my desk, adding to my time!) and finally it was done!  The card base is 4 1/4" square and I matted it with another piece of DSP from the same series:

I left the inside blank, and I'll add a sentiment later......because I ran out of time! And the sketch is from Atlantic Hearts:

I hope you'll challenge yourself to create a card in less than ten minutes!  Gather your supplies, get your thoughts in order, and then GO!  It's fun to see what you can make in a jiffy!  Be sure to see what the other designers created over at the As You See It blog, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping in today!

Just look at that face:

"Pet me, Mommy!"  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP535 Spring Flowers Welcoming Door

Hello everyone!  Happy Easter (again) to you!  Jaydee has our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a lovely one!  Perhaps stamping and coloring flowers might make it feel a bit more spring-like!  So here we go:

I really had so many ideas for this challenge, I struggled a bit!  Finally, I pulled out the retiring Under My Umbrella, because those little Mary Engelbreit-ish flowers have always appealed to me!  I stamped and colored several of them, fussy cut them out and created a wreath for my little "front door":

To create a base for my wreath, I dicut a narrow circle (which you can't see here) and used that so I could adhere my flowers in the correct shape.  I created my door with Pool Party cardstock, embossing the panels with the Pinewood Planks EF, then shading them with Sahara Sand ink:

The "welcome" and the bricks are from the Welcoming Window set, and I added a little silver Brushed Metallic watering can diecut (and a doorknob!):

I am in love with that little watering can, LOL!  And since the Krafty Chicks challenge is "Stamp Act", I am entering it there too! Thanks for popping in today!

I hope you'll find lots of inspiration at the Paper Players this week; check out what the design team on the PP blog and then be sure to share your floral creation with us as well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC96 Showers of Love

Hi stampers!  My second post of the day, and it's the first challenge of the year for Team X at the Tic Tac Toe challenge!! It's my turn to choose the elements for the board, and here's what I came up with:

I chose the middle row across of red, dry embossing and designer paper, but it hits a few more squares as well!  So here we go!

I hadn't inked up the cute Under My Umbrella set for a while, and I thought a red plaid umbrella would make a fun Valentine card!  I stamped the umbrella on the SAB DSP Berry Delightful and added a floral accents, colored with Blends and fussy cut:

I realized that my reds don't really match, but hopefully the recipient won't notice too much!  I extended the umbrella handle a bit and added a little bow at the "junction", then mounted it all on a panel that had been embossed with the Falling Petals EF (which look like hearts to me!) and added a sentiment at the bottom, also embellished with some flowers and bling!  It all went on a Basic Black mat and a Real Red card base.

And here's the inside:

It was a lot of fun to ink this set up again!  I hope you'll find some inspiration from our Tic Tac Toe board and play along this week!  Can't wait to see what you create!

TTTC72 Tangerine Sherbet

Hello peeps!  It's time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge, and its Team X this week!  Here's our grid:

Image may contain: text that says 'Tic Tac Toe Challeng No: 072 #tttc072 Use the Word Summer Patterned Paper Stitching Die Cut Sea Creatures Circle Water Purple Ice Cream ictactoechallenge.co'

I chose the right column of stitching, circle and ice cream for my confection today!  Here we go:

I searched my vast stash of patterned paper to find some orange shades, because I wanted to play with the Rainbow Card challenge this month, which is "Tangerine":

I used some dies to create some stitched circles and oval, and banner, then I added some stitched designs on my background paper as well:

My little ice cream cone was stamped in Memento Black and colored with Blends:

And here's the inside, with a few more "stitched" images as well!

And since there is lot of "stitching" on my card, I am entering it in the Double D stitching challenge as well!

What will inspire you from our Tic Tac Toe grid?  SO many possibilities!  Be sure to check out the blog and see what the design team created to inspire you!  Hope you see your creation in the gallery as well!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TicTacToe #70 Summer Fun

Hello again, peeps!  It's time for the X team's Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Shannon is our hostess and here's her grid:

No photo description available.

For my card, I chose the left column of polka dots, sequins and summer!  I pulled out the retired Day at the Beach to make some yummy popsicles:

I stamped them all in Memento Black ink, then colored them with Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Blends:

I colored them in with some Wink of Stella for sparkle, and added matching sequins around each one:

My yellow paper is from Honey Bee's The Bee's Knees, and I used Stitched So Sweetly and Wonky Stitched (My Favorite Things) dies along with a past Paper Pumpkin sentiment. Here's the inside:

I have just the recipient in mind for this card!  And hang on, there's more!  Felicita very kindly offered to let Cassidy be the Junior Guest Designer this week!  She chose the diagonal line of polka dots, coloring (of course) and sparkle for her "unique" card:

She stamped her ballerina from the retired Sweet Stuff and colored her outfit with a purple sparkly gel pen:

She wanted her to be dancing in the rain, so she stamped and punched out an umbrella from Under My Umbrella in Gorgeous Grape DSP, then curved it so it would be 3D, then used a couple layers of dimensionals to pop it up.  We gave her a raindrop background, but Cass also wanted to create a rainbow, so she hand-drew one and added a polka dotted sun, also from Day at the Beach.  Finally, she drew the "road" and coated it with Wink of Stella for some more sparkle (not sure what that was all about!).  I thought it was very creative and unique and apart from a little coaching from Grammy, she did most of it herself!  Thank you, Felicita, for asking her to participate!

I hope our Tic Tac Toe grid has some fun elements that inspire you to get creative!  Be sure to check out what all the designers did this week at the TTT blog!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
