IB101 Deer Vignette

Hello, peeps!  I've got a sweet card for you for today's Inspired By challenge!  This one was a lot of fun to create:

And here is Laurel's photo prompt....absolutely adorable!

So I used lots of different elements to create this little vignette!  I started by embossing a white card base with a Sissix embossing folder featuring different holiday words.  On top, I adhered a stitched circle cut from some Woodgrain DSP, and on top of that I added some foliage (Tim Holtz die with hand-drawn "greenery"), two little bottle brush trees (Papertrey) and a woodland deer (Dashing Deer)!  I added a red glimmer scarf, some little red glimmer ornaments and gold glimmer star toppers:

Finally, I added a hanger and bow of red glimmer paper too!

There are so many inspirations in this fun photo, what will inspire you?  Share your creation with us at the Inspired By blog, and while you're there, check out what the other designers did as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

So since I don't get Cassidy on the bus this school year, I gave Dana the Advent Calendar I made for her a few years ago.  I knew there was a chance that the "elf" who fills the little boxes with treats might forget to do it once or twice and sure enough, yesterday morning when Cass when to open it, there was nothing there.  She was in tears, and wrote the elf a note:

(Not sure what the YHAEY thing is all about!)  But she cracks me up....she gives the elf a large box in which to write his name and only two lines to answer his question, LOL!  So we'll have to see what the "elf" writes back!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP201 and TSOT420 Peaceful Deer

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Hope your week is going well!  I have a Christmas card to share today using the Global Design Project colors as well as the latest Try Stampin On Tuesday sketch:

I've been using mostly white card bases, so I thought I would use a colored one this time, Pretty Peacock.  I used a piece of Pretty Peacock DSP for my banner, and a Dashing Deer stamped in Merry Merlot for my circular focal point:

I used some Mossy Meadow cardstock for a few pine sprigs from the retired Pretty Pines dies, and "tied" them with some Cherry Cobbler thick baker's twine.  The sentiment is from Merry Christmas to all; I taped off most of the sentiment, inked up "peace" then pulled off the tape and stamped it on a tiny piece of Whisper White that was left over from some stitched diecutting!

I did use a Tim Holtz embossing folder called Deer Knit because it looked so pretty with my deer and evergreens!

I added a white mat on the inside and stamped another sentiment and swirl from Merry Christmas to All:

Hope you enjoyed it!  And from Christmas to summer; remember my almost-blooming sunflowers?  Check these out, all courtesy of my birds at my bird feeder, LOL!

Don't they just make you SMILE!?  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

IB52 Let It Snow

Hey peeps! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!  Laurel has a beautiful neutral-hued-palette inspiration for us today at Inspired By...first, here's my card:

And here's Laurel's prompt!  Check out those sweet, simple snowflakes!

I chose to use the smaller snowflake as my inspiration.  My card uses papers from Festive Farmhouse along with Gray Granite snowflakes cut with the Seasonal Layers thinlets, embellished with some rhinestones, Wink of Stella, and silver and white baker's twine:

My sentiment is from Dashing Deer, and for my layout, I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

I hope you'll play along with us at Inspired By and share your creation with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

The day before Christmas, amidst all my preparations for the big day, Cassidy wanted me to teach her how to needlepoint on plastic canvas!  We made a chart of a Minecraft sword on some graph paper:

and with a lot of assistance, she began to make her sword:

Tada!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SS190 Framed Shaker Christmas

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  After a few lovely yet chilly days, we are gearing up for MORE rain!  Grrr!  I guess it could be snow...not quite ready for that yet!  I took a break from Halloween cards and made a Christmas card yesterday using the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

That frame was just begging to be filled with some sequins, so here we go:

The papers from Under the Mistletoe are a little too busy for me, but I challenged myself to use them anyway!  My card base is Old Olive and the frame is Pear Pizzazz.  I also challenged myself to try some embossing with my Stitched Shapes framelits...it's not difficult but it's a bit of a challenge to put the embossing mat on top of the framelit without making it wiggle around!  I used the Layering Squares framelits for the inner and outer cuts.  I find using Fun Foam and cutting the frame almost exactly the same shape really helps keep those sequins inside!!!  I embellished it with a small deer from Dashing Deer:

And I love this sweet little sentiment from Wishing You Well:

My sequins are from Verve...thanks for popping in today!

Dana has been busy making hats, lots of hats! I don't have a picture of the ones she made for Cassidy or Lee, but here is Jackie's:

Cassidy chose the colors; Lee's is orange and black and hers is blue and black!  They all seem to like them!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TMS466 Green Deer

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Have you ever seen a green deer?!  Well, I have one to share with you today!  My creative friend Wendy made a cute little card yesterday using the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch (you can see her card HERE) and I loved it so much, I thought I would CASE it and make my own!  Her card is for Halloween, and mine is Christmas!  I recently got the Under the Mistletoe DSP, and I usually gravitate towards the smaller prints, but I thought I would challenge myself to use the bold Shaded Spruce one...so here we go:

And here is the sketch prompt:

I stamped a deer from Dashing Deer in Shaded Spruce and diecut it with the Detailed Deer Thinlet, popping it up on a panel that had the corners rounded with my Envelope Punch Board.  The sentiment is from Many Blessings:

What I thought was so clever on Wendy's card was that she cut out some elements from DSP to create her accent piece, so I did the same, cutting a small flower and part of a leaf out, then layering them on top of a larger flower.  There is a tiny bit of Old Olive in the pattern as well, so I used the corner die from the Detailed Deer Thinlet to make a couple of swirly pieces:

My final addition was a glimmer dot in the center of the smaller flower!  While this is certainly out of my comfort zone, I think it turned out nicely!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  Off to a party!
