AHSC640 Blue Florals

Happy Monday, all!  I hope you had a good weekend!  We had sun, rain and HOT temps, LOL!  We have a new Atlantic Hearts sketch this week and I enjoyed this one a lot:

Dana gave me some GORGEOUS papers for my birthday and I just had to use some of them on my card today:

I used two of the patterns from the same sheet and I was hoping to be able to NOT cover up that little bird on the floral one, LOL!  I barely got him in there!  The flowers were stamped in Misty Moonlight; the sentiments were done in Night of Navy and Craft White.  I embossed the background with the Exposed Brick EF and added some Honey Bee navy sequins:

I have a couple of thank you cards to send out and this will be one of them!  I hope you'll play along with our interesting sketch this week....can't wait to see what you create!  Wednesday we will reveal what all the DT members created, so be sure to check back at the Atlantic Hearts blog then!

Cassidy asked me to help her cut down one of Wayne's shirts he wasn't wearing any more so she could wear it; we got out the ironing board and sewing machine and we learned about seam allowances, how to thread a bobbin and how to thread the machine.

Here's the final product:

It's not perfect, but she learned a lot!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Stitched Get Well

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The week is on the downhill slide!  I've been busy planning for clubs and camps but I did manage to squeak in a little card for a couple of challenges!  I haven't played with the Color Throwdown challenge for a long time, and Amy at Freshly Made Sketches has an interesting sketch:

I went way, way, way back in the archives of my stamp room to retrieve some retired colors for my card today....anyone remember Certainly Celery or Barely Banana?  I used cardstocks in those two hues, plus the more recently-retired Seaside Spray, to diecut some My Favorite Things flowers to create this:

I layered a few of the flowers, added some simple punched centers and a sentiment from Hand-Penned Petals, then attached them to a Basic White mat embossed with the Stitched Greenery die:

I mounted it all on a Certainly Celery base!  It was fun to pull out those old colors!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Nature's Prints Thanks

Happy Monday, all! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend  It's wrapping day in the Pugliese household!  Hopefully I'll get them all done before hubby gets home from work, LOL!  I have a non-Christmas card today; it uses the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday as well as the challenging (to me) colors from Inspire.Create:

So here we go:

Petal Pink and Rich Razzleberry are colors I rarely use; Granny Apple Green I use a little more often, so I chose this challenge because I really wanted to be challenged!  To make the colors a bit more matching in tone, I stamped the Early Espresso and Rich Razzleberry on scrap paper first before stamping them; that way the colors were a bit softer!

My sentiment is from Hand-Penned Petals; florals and greenery are from Nature's Prints.  I used Petal Pink DSP for the horizontal panel, and also embossed the front panel with the Timeworn Type EF.  I finished it off by adding some pretty Seasonal Sequins!  Thanks for popping in today!

Hubby and I hit an estate sale over the weekend in an over-55 community.  One of the homes had this in their yard:

This is a FULL SIZE sleigh and horse....and it's not a blow-up one, either!  I wonder if they keep them in the garage for the rest of the year!  I'd love to see it all lit up; might have to take a ride some night this week!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI281 Recipe in Violet

Hi there stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge, where it's a recipe!  Put together all these ingredients to create your card:

For my bright colors, I chose Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party!  And here we go:

I stamped and watercolored the floral image from Hand-Penned  Petals, then diecut it with the matching die.  I happened to have a scrap of Basic White on which I had used the new Dots & Spots die, so I backed that with a piece of Granny Apple Green, then mounted everything on a panel of retired Hand-Penned DSP and Highland Heather card base.

I used the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday:

and I still needed the bottom flag and left scallop element, so I cut a couple pieces of Parakeet Party Glimmer paper to fit the bill, adding the sentiment from the same set, along with a few gems:

So I think I managed to get all my recipe ingredients together...it certainly is a bright, eye-catching card!  I love to watercolor, so this was a fun one for sure!  I hope you'll play along with our "recipe" challenge at As You See It, and bake up something clever and fun as well!  Be sure to hop on over to the AYSI blog to see what the others created as well!  Thanks so much for popping in today!

This is what you get when mommy wants to take your picture but you don't WANT to have it taken!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC483 Congrats

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I got some new goodies and have been itching to play with them!  The Cottage Wreath bundle is so fun...if you like wreaths, you will like this one!  I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge to get started:

And here is my fall wreath:

I have a friend in my TOPS group (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) who reached a major goal and so I thought she would appreciate a little congrats card!  I stamped the wreath in Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze, then added some Soft Suede acorns and Cajun Craze leaves:

I added some Cajun Craze banners, a panel of Very Vanilla, diecut with the Stitchery background plate, and it all went on a Crumb Cake card on which I stamped the Knit Together background stamp.  I added some Braided Trim, along with a tag with a sentiment from Hand-Penned Petals.  I'll hand-write a note on the inside!  Thanks for visiting today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fusion Peach Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I somehow missed the Fusion challenge when it came up, and when I saw all that peachiness, I knew I had to squeeze in a card!  I actually used both the sketch and the photo inspiration:

I loved the peach hues with the tans!  I pulled out Hand-Penned Petals, which I hadn't used for a while, along with Sunny Sentiments and some Pale Papaya and Crumb Cake inks and came up with this:

The bottom DSP is Hand-Penned, and I diecut the sentiment with a Tasteful Labels die and backed it with another Ornate Frames die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock.  After stamping and diecutting the florals, I added a couple of Crumb Cake "sprigs" from the Nature's Thoughts dies.  I embossed the top portion of the card with the Tasteful Textile EF.  My final addition was a couple of pieces of burlap ribbon:

Light and delicate but with a touch of fall!  Thanks for popping in today!

We had pizza with the kids last night and since it such a beautiful, cool fall evening, John put a fire in the chimeria and roasted some marshmallows!  Disclaimer:  this is an ember, not a burning marshmallow!

I was bundled up in a sweatshirt with my hood up and here's how Cassidy was dressed!  Kids!

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS499 Fall Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  Short and sweet today!  I am squeaking in a card for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

I felt in a fall-ish mood, so I pulled out some fall colors, Forever Fern, and some  Very Vanilla cardstock, and went to work:

I stamped several images in Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Bumblebee and So Saffron, then added a few sprinkles in Crumb Cake.  I embossed it with the Tasteful Textile folder, mounted it on a Very Vanilla card base, and added a sentiment from Hand-Penned Petals:

I love these fall colors together!  Thanks for popping in today!

PP555 Graduation Congrats

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Laurie is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fun sketch:

I love sketches!  I happened to need a graduation card for a young man in our church, so this was a perfect way to put this sketch to use!  He graduated from the same high school I did, and our school colors are maroon and gold, so I got out some Merry Merlot and Bumblebee products and went to work:

My card base is Merry Merlot, and I added an embossed panel on top, using the retired Alphabet Press EF for a school vibe!  I had some leftover Bumblebee DSP from last year, so I diecut a tag and added a stitched and embossed star on top, accenting it with a Merry Merlot tab and some twill ribbon from my stash:

The sentiment is from Hand-Penned Petals, diecut with the Tasteful Labels die.  Easy and fun!

What will you create with this sketch?  Check out what the DT made at the Paper Players blog, then share your creation with us too!  Thanks for popping by today!

Yesterday was to have been Cassidy's birthday party, but due to her fractured ankle, they decided to put up a tent and have a drive-by!  Her friend Ben came over to hang out with her, and here they are posing with one of her favorite gifts...a giant squirt gun.  She'll have to wait until her ankle heals to use it though!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Hand-Penned in Pink

Happy Friday, peeps!  I am running a wee bit late today; we had a busy day yesterday and I was just too exhausted to make up my post!  Anyway, I have a very simple card today, it's not even fulfilling any challenge, just something I put together for a special friend's birthday!  It uses one of my favorite sets from the current catalog, Hand-Penned Petals, along with the coordinating DSP.  It's monochromatic, so that makes it even easier and simpler:

I stamped the floral image in Blushing Bride and mounted it with dimensionals on a panel diecut with the Scalloped Contour dies.  The sentiment is from Best Year.  Then it went on another panel, this time the Hand-Penned DSP, diecut with another die from the same die set.  I added some pearls for embellishment!  Simple and easy!

I love how the sentiment fit perfectly in the space at the bottom!  Thanks for visiting today!

Yesterday, we took Cassidy on a canoe trip down the Brandywine Creek.  I must say, it was a delightful trip and after a slow start (we got there a wee bit early and had to WAIT....boring in the heat!) we all really enjoyed ourselves.  I didn't get any pictures of us actually on the creek, as I was afraid my phone would get wet, but the water was cold and refreshing, we saw turtles and green herons, and we stopped a couple times along the way to actually go swimming!  The current was strong enough that we could float along on our back, and still return to our canoe.  We started at Northbrook Canoe, where we boarded a bus that followed the truck that hauled our canoes upstream.  They put them in the water for us and we canoed back down and got back out at Northbrook.  The facility been there for quite a while and definitely has a vintage feel to it!

It is right next to an old train line:

And after our long journey, where Cassidy did an awesome job of paddling, we went to Hood's Barbecue for lunch.  It's a very cool little restaurant, recently updated, and my nephew Timmy did all the remodeling and construction work.  The wood is all from the local Chester County area, except for the pig trough, which I believe came from the next county over.  It's made into a huge "chandelier":

We indulged her with a vanilla milkshake to go along with her barbecue:

And the sign of a truly good day spent having fun:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Club Projects

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I am sharing the two projects my club girls did last night, because I didn't get much other stamping done yesterday!  The first uses Hand-Penned Petals, Hand Penned DSP and a few other goodies:

It's a bit challenging to photograph because the top layer is shorter than the bottom!  But it's such a pretty way to have that beautiful DSP peek out!  We used double tags and some Soft Succulent Open Weave ribbon as an accent on the Stitched Greenery-embossed card front:

Our second card is a diamond-fold card; we used the You're A Peach DSP in various patterns and sentiments from Shaded Summer and Best Year.  Here is it all folded and ribboned up!:

And here it is extended; it's created from a 12 x 4" piece of cardstock, then accented with various patterns of the DSP and embellished with a pansy and sentiment on the front:

And birthday greetings on the back!

I think everyone liked them and had fun!

Staying busy while Mom and Wayne enjoy some outdoor refreshments!

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!
