PCC235 Hippity Hoppity

Hi peeps!  Happy Thursday!  My week is all messed up with everyone home for a snow day on Tuesday!  It feels like it should be Monday or something!  Anyway, I had this little bunny from an old SU set called Hello Spring (1997) stamped and just sitting on my desk, waiting to be made into a card!  When I saw the Paper Craft Crew sketch for this week, I went to work!

Visit the Paper Craft Crew and play along with Sketch Challenge 235. #pcc2017 #sketch #papercraftcrew www.papercraftcrew.com

I found some of this DSP when I made my vintage card for yesterday's post, so I decided to incorporate it into my card, along with the Elegant Dots embossing folder and some retired colors of Lost Lagoon and Baja Breeze:

I apologize for the poor photo quality; I still use my 35mm camera to take my photos, but for some reason, my computer no longer recognizes any of my camera cards, so I had to resort to taking these with my phone!  Not too bad, but I am not used to it and it feels awkward.  So until I figure out what the problem is, I am stuck with my phone, but at least I do have that!

My bunny was stamped in Palette ink and I did a wee little bit of shading with an aquapainter and some Baja Breeze ink; I added a little banner stamped with "hippity hoppity" from a really old clear set, maybe Studio G? and another banner stamped with Timeless Textures.  A little punched flower, some twine and sequins, and it was done....I'll stamp  an Easter sentiment on the inside.

And since this is such an old stamp, I am entering this also in the RetroRubber challenge of Anything Goes!

Cassidy came home yesterday with a folder filled with little encouraging notes written by all her classmates; it was hard to get the whole story out of her, but apparently they do it for one student a day.  I think because her name starts with a "C", she was one of the first!  Anyway, it was fun to watch her reaction as she read them all!

Suhavi wrote "You always blow the sadness of me!" and Zoey told her she was so funny, "He he he,"!!!  So cute!

Have a blessed day!

PCC231 So Sorry

Happy Monday, peeps!  We had a glorious weekend, weather-wise, but it makes me nervous, having these 60+ temps in February!  We're bound to pay for it somewhere along the line!  I had a little stamping time yesterday and made my third sympathy card for the week using the sketch from Paper Craft Crew:

I hadn't used this detailed floral image from the SAB set Avant Garden, so I paired it with some Floral Boutique papers for my creation:

It seems as if I have a lot going on here....lace, leaves, florals....but I hope it all works together.  I chose Night of Navy as a monochromatic hue.  Thanks for popping in today!

Since I got a membership to Longwood Gardens (check out their website here) for Christmas and hadn't used it yet, I asked my SIL to go with me yesterday; the weather was so nice, I think every other person in the tri-state area had the same thought---it was packed!  They have an orchid display right now, so there were orchids everywhere!

This was an orchid wall in the lobby; then an arch of orchids in the conservatory:

A reflecting pool and hanging baskets in the conservatory, and some ground cover florals:

This doorway was covered in orchids above....it's hard to capture how big it is:

A beautiful way to spend a February afternoon!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for our Stamp Ink Paper challenge, too!

PCC225 Comfort and Healing

Hi peeps!  I don't normally do two posts in one day, but I wanted to get this card in for the Paper Craft Crew sketch before the deadline because I thought it was a nice one!

Visit the Paper Craft Crew and play along with Card Sketch 225. #pcc2017 #cardsketch www.papercraftcrew.com

You might remember I made a sympathy card for my friend Sharon, who lost her aunt on Christmas day.  Ten days later, she lost her mother, her aunt's sister.  I just can't imagine the grief of losing two cherished family members within two weeks.  Anyway, Sharon loves the beach and her mother's favorite color was blue, so I combined those two elements to make her a sympathy card:

Although the DSP is really a sky photo, it reminded me enough of the beach to use it!  The card base is Pool Party, and I embossed the Island Indigo panel with the Seaside EF, then added some ribbon embellishments and a sentiment.  More details are in the project menu below.

Hope you have a wonderful day.  And since I already shared a Cassidy photo today, I thought I'd show you our sunrise on this beautiful but COLD morning:

PCC215 and SIP70 Fall Subway Art

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Wow, the week is zipping by!  I have a card for two challenges today!  The Paper Craft Crew Challenge is "Fall"; and the Stamp Ink Paper challenge is a tac-tac-toe!

Welcome to the Paper Craft Crew Fall Into Fall Theme Challenge 215 (PCC215) hosted by Pam Staples, SunnyGirlScraps. #papercraftcrew #challengeblog #theme #fall Play along at www.papercraftcrew.com sip-any-tic-tac-toe-70-800

The left column of leaves, sparkle and orange piqued my interest; I had something in mind but it wasn't coming together.  My final card is not really what I had pictured, but it's going to have to do!  I used a subway art panel from Close to My Heart and stamped it in Pumpkin Pie ink on Papertrey's Linen paper and matted it on Chocolate Chip:

I stamped the Hardwood background in white craft ink on my Pumpkin Pie card base and then used some pastel chalks to darken the wood.  SU's new Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper was the basis for my Lawn Fawn stitched leaves; I also overstamped the subway art with the Linen background stamp in Crumb Cake:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from a retired SU set called Harvest Home, and added an extra glimmer leaf!

My exciting news this week is that on Tuesday, I got to meet a long-time blogging friend, Linda Lapotka!  She grew up in my area, but now calls Wisconsin home.  She came back east to go to her niece's wedding and I met her and her sister at Longwood Gardens!   It was a gorgeous day, very warm, and we had a wonderful time!  I felt like I have known her all my life!  Here we are, early on the misty morning, ready to go inside the gardens:

and we convinced Patty to sit with us too!

What a great day!  Thanks for popping in!

CTD405 & PPC206 You Make Me Smile

Hi peeps!  Ah, Thursday...the end of the week is in sight!  I squealed with delight when I saw the pretty color challenge at the Color Throwdown, and it worked perfectly with the DSP challenge at Paper Craft Crew:

Welcome to the Paper Craft Crew Designer Series Paper Theme Challenge 206 hosted by Pam Staples, SunnyGirlScraps. #papercraftcrew #sunnygirlscraps #challengeblog #papercrafts #themechallenge Play along at www.papercraftcrew.com

I went way in the archives of my scraps of DSP and pulled out some that fit the colors and cut them into 3/4" strips:  I had so much fun, I may just do another one:

My sentiment (Right at Home's Color In Sentiments) was stamped in Memento black ink and colored with Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz inks and an aquapainter.  I added a Layering Squares mat in black and some baker's twine, then a wee little Paper Pumpkin flower, stamped in Crushed Curry:

I didn't have a black candy dot, so I colored a brown one with a Sharpie, LOL!  Worked great!  And I tried to experiment with putting the sentiment panel in different areas of my card to see how it looked, but those stubborn dimensionals got stuck down in the corner, so that's where it stayed, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!

He has made himself right at home in my yard....I see him everywhere!  Enjoy your day!

DSCF2922

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Taking a break from Christmas cards and squeezing in a couple of challenges today with a birthday card!  Seize the Birthday is an “anything goes” challenge, Paper Craft Crew Challenge has this sketch:

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 170. #papercraftcrew #cardsketch

and the trend week at Just Us Girls is watercoloring:

So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Cheer All Year Paper Pumpkin Birthday

I dampened a piece of watercolor paper and lightly dabbled on some Lost Lagoon ink.  I pulled some papers from the Pretty Petals stack for my banners, then stamped the feathers from Cheer All Year for the focal point.

DSCF2923

A Paper Pumpkin birthday sentiment stamped in Basic Black was bold enough to work against the watercolored background.  I also added a few sequins from my stash, added some black glimmer paper elements,  and speckled some color on with a wet paintbrush.  My sentiment inside is from Cottage Greetings and I stamped another feather as well:

It’s off to the mailbox this card goes!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy went to her friend Gabby’s birthday party on the weekend.  Gabby is all about glam and glitz….Cassidy?  Well, she apparently hasn’t given up Halloween yet, LOL!

Two Cards…..

DSCF2173-001
…for today, the first of October, because there are so many awesome challenges out in blogland, I can’t get them all done in time!  My first card is for the Paper Craft Crew sketch 164 and the Color Throwdown challenge 362 :
Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 164

I pulled out an older SU stamp called Harvest Home and did some watercoloring:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Harvest Home Paper Pumpkin Truly Thankful Stampin Up

The background is a piece of Color Me Irresistible embossed paper that I sponged with Chocolate Chip ink to give it a darker color…the embossed portion resists the ink and looks really cool!  The banner was stamped every which-way with the sketchy line stamp from Gorgeous Grunge; the sentiment, leaves & acorn are from September’s Paper Pumpkin..what a great kit!  This is also for the Stamplorations Project 40 challenge; I chose this card as my inspiration!

DSCF2174

My next card is a little 3 1/4 x 4” card for a baby shower; it’s for the Kraft Journal’s CAS baby card challenge as well as the CAS On Sunday challenge to use polka dots:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings A Dozen Thoughts Baby Boy

I used Crumb Cake for my card base, embossing it with SU’s Large Dots EF and giving each dot a little highlight with some white craft ink and a sponge dauber.  The “stitched” panel is from Stitched Shapes by Simon Says Stamps, inked up in Lost Lagoon, and the heart and duck are from Sweet & Sassy, Polka Dot Silhouettes.  The duck was stamped in Crushed Curry; the smaller heart was actually a larger image;  I heat-embossed it in white on Mint Macaron, then punched it out with a smaller heart punch:

DSCF2153

The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts, and I made a custom envelope for the card with some retired Christmas DSP from last year and my Envelope Punch Board!  This card is also for Little Red Wagon’s embossing folder challenge!  Phew!  I think I got them all in!  And here’s a little peek at something I made for the shower as well:

DSCF2104

Cassidy is becoming quite the little chef; this child can break an egg on her own and not get any shell in it!  She prefers to mix her cake batter by hand, rather than use the mixer:

but she still does love to lick the bowl:

Enjoy your day!
