IB58 Hugs & Kisses

Happy Thursday, everyone!  It's time for another Inspired By challenge, and Laurel just keeps finding the prettiest prompts for us!  But first, here's my card, a plethora of vintagey, pink- and rose-colored hearts:

And here is Laurel's prompt:

These gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye seemed to fit the challenge; they do most of the work all by themselves!  I cut little stitched banners from some of the patterns and aligned them along the left edge, then tied some assorted twines on top:

I added another little banner and stamped my sentiment in Merry Merlot, then added some sequins and a silver foil heart that I colored with a Light Real Red Blend:

Another sweet Valentine to add to my stash...it's a week away, are you ready?  If not, let our challenge get your creative juices flowing, and share your creations with us at the Inspired By blog!  Can't wait to see them!

Our weather went from single digits to the sixties in a week!  Cassidy took advantage of the weather to play outside a bit:

It is still winter, though....we'll pay for this nice day with some chilly weather this weekend! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP427 Love is in the Air

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going fabulously!  It's time for Joanne to be our hostess at the Paper Players, and she has a timely challenge:

I went in a little different direction with my card; I received this really cute Lawn Fawn stamp set called Upon a Star from my friend Martha, and was just playing around with it, when I realized it would fit our PP challenge this week!  So off I went:

I stamped the three little critters on Thick White cardstock with Memento black ink and used my SU blends to color them in, then fussy-cut them out:

The heart of stars was stamped in Craft White ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder on  the Night of Navy card; after embossing it, I added more stars but left them un-embossed so the heart would stand out:

On my "snowy" hill, I stamped the sentiments in Night of Navy as well and placed my little critters  looking skyward, up in the air....such a fun little set and it comes with lots of sentiments to boot!  And since the Just Us Girls challenge this week is "love", I am going to enter it there as well!

I hope you'll play along with us too...your "love" creation doesn't even have to be pink or red, as I have shown here!  Check out what the others created:

·        Claire
·        Jaydee
·        Joanne
·        Laurie
·        Nance
·        Anne Marie
·        Su

Cassidy tried her hairdressing skills on her friend Lee; it amazes me that he sits still long enough to let her do his hair, LOL!  I am sure he'd rather be doing something else!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB57 Kissing Booth

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Are you in a deep freeze yet?!  Brrr, it's cold here in PA...the snow is pretty, and it's not deep, but it is frozen solid!  Anyway, spring will arrive someday, right?!  For now, we can anticipate those lovely fresh deays with a new challenge from Inspired By today!  First, here's a peek at my card:

And here's Laurel's fun prompt!  Perfectly timed for some Valentine crafting!

No photo description available.

My Naturals cardstock card started out with a scrap of pink heart paper from American Crafts, and I paired it with a scrapbooking card from My Mind's Eye "My Story" line.  I added a diecut "love you", which I cut out three times and adhered together to give it some dimension, then mounted it on the scrapbook card.  I embossed the edge of the card with a Falling Petals EF, added some twine, gimmer ribbon and a row of glimmer hearts:

And since the edges of the scrapbook card were rounded, I rounded the corners of my card and heart panel as well!  Such a fun, eclectic heart-filled card! And no stamping to be seen, LOL!  Wait until you see what the Inspired By design team created...it will knock your socks off!  Be sure to visit them at the IB blog and share your creation too!

A wee little contest between Grampy and Cassidy made for some interesting play-doh creations!

I would give them a challenge and they had to create it...they had to make a bird, an apple, and these are scarecrows....you'll have to use your imagination, LOL!  Grampy's looks like it has a sailor hat on..maybe his scarecrow is on a boat!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RR103

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Hope you're staying warm wherever you are today!  It's supposed to be a cold, cold week here in PA!!!  But the Retro Rubber Challenge will warm you up with its sweet theme:

Image may contain: text

I used one of my favorite Valentine stamps, Sealed With Love (2017), along with Swirly Bird (2016), to make my fun little ribbon-embellished love note card:

Crumb Cake, Real Red, Lovely Lipstick and Whisper White were my color choices; I used the Rectangle Stitched framelits to create my layers, adding a wreath from Crumb Cake and a little love note and envelope using the Love Note framelits:

I added a few speckles from Gorgeous Grunge (2013), and Real Red ribbons adorn the Crumb Cake wreath as well as the little envelope; the note pops up out of the envelope to show a wee little sentiment, and then I stamped a Valentine sentiment on the inside:

Gee, I wonder to whom this card will go?!! 💕 I hope you'll play along with our Retro Rubber challenge..just be sure your stamps are at least a year old!  Can't wait to see what you share with us at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Inspired By #6 - Got Mail?

Happy Thursday, peeps! Laurel has an adorable photo prompt for us today for Inspired By!  Check out this little fella:

Despite its cute factor, I admit the challenge had me stumped!!!  I don't have any squirrel stamps, LOL!  In the end, I chose the little plane image from PTI's Tiny Treats Valentine set....it made me think of air mail, so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!  Here ya go:

I used lots of oldies but goodies here....a scrap of red gingham from my stash; a Bella cloud stamp; some vellum clouds cut with the Word Bubbles die, as well as a speech bubble from the same set!  I masked the plane image and stamped the clouds over top, then colored it with markers and an aquapainter.  The little heart vapor trail was drawn with a black marker.  I used a couple leftover hearts from a couple of days ago to accent the sentiment:

I sponged the vellum clouds with some white ink to make the stand out a little more:

And used the same die to cut out a little "cloud" for the inside!

We sure would love for you to play along with the challenge this week!  Be sure to check out what the design team has created...you'll get lots of inspiration from them as well!

We had another snow day yesterday...more like an ice day....so we did a little painting, we played  with dolls, and watched a movie.  But this is what a 7 year-old does when she is bored and I am not paying attention to her...she paints a banana skin:

She is too much!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP379 Be My Valentine

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Happy Super Bowl day!  Lots of busyness going on today, so this will be short and sweet!  Claire is our Paper Players hostess with a theme of Be My Valentine!  I have combined my Valentine with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

(I know I didn't put the sentiment in the right place for the challenge, so if they kick me out, that's fine!  But I just thought it looked better where it was! )  I am in love with this Bo Bunny Petal Lane paper, so I used a couple more sheets of it to create my card today:

I diecut a heart from black glimmer paper, then hand-trimmed the inside to create a frame.  Flowers from Jar of Love, stamped in Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry adorn the heart; I added some little gray springs and tucked a few little sequins around the bouquet as well; the sentiment is from the same set:

The "love" diecut is also from glimmer paper, it's from Simon Says Stamp.  On the inside, I used a sentiment from PS:  I Love You, and since I had a couple extra flowers, added them as well!

And since the word prompt this week from Just Us Girls is "love", I am entering my card there as well!

I am sure you've got lots of heart-themed stamps, so get to work and show us your Valentines!  Share them at the Paper Players, where you can see the design team's work and be inspired!  Now, GO EAGLES!!!

Cassidy's Eagles green hairdo for school on Friday!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB79 and MTS214 Love

Happy Friday peeps!  Wow, the weekend is here and Super Bowl is quickly approaching!  But I am in the throes of making Valentines!  So many pretty challenges out there, I just can't help myself!  Today I am using the Match the Sketch sketch and the RetroRubber "love" challenge for my card:

RRCB 79

There really isn't much stamping on my card, most of the work is done by some beautiful papers (they are retro, too!) by My Mind's Eye called Heirloom, but I did stamp the striped paper with the French Script background stamp from SU, and the date on the label says 2000!  Wow....that's an oldie for sure!  So here we go:

All the papers except for the pink hearts that are behind the printed hearts, are from the same paper pack...I just punched them out with a large SU heart punch.  The "I love you" heart is from the same paper, and I just fussy cut it out.  Each of the pink hearts were punched with the same punch from Strawberry Slush cardstock and daubered with White Craft ink to soften the colors.  I did use a new CTMH die to create the row of gold foil hearts.....so stinkin' cute!

I broke my rule of never using a button, because this one just looked so cute:

This heart was embellished with a little Corrugated Element from the current SU catalog:

And this little one was embellished with a diecut from the heart border:

I love the soft vintage look of this!  And here are a couple of sweethearts:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
