Country Roads

DSCF7497

Today’s Inspiration Challenge 227 at SCS is Home Sweet…whatever state you live in!  I thought about all the ways in which “Home Sweet Pennsylvania” could inspire me…..Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square being the Mushroom Capital of the World (sorry, no mushroom stamps), and quickly settled on this lovely farm stamp, since I spent most of my growing-up years on a dairy farm.  My BIL’s birthday is coming up, so this will be for him:

This also is a sketch challenge for Our Daily Bread Designs; although I don’t have any of their stamps, I thought it was acceptable.  Here’s the sketch:

I am fortunate enough to still be living on our farm property and although the barn and buildings are gone, those memories are fresh in my mind!  Have a blessed day!

  • Paper:  Confetti Cream, Cosmo Cricket, Close to Cocoa
  • Ink:  Stazon, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, Kiwi Kiss, Garden Green

CAS Thursday

DSCF7483

I stamped several cards over the last couple days (and nights), all clean & simple, so I thought I would share them with you.  I’ll warn you….these were photographed FAST and furious, so excuse the background!  The first one is for today’s Ways To Use It challenge #265 at SCS, which was to put something on the diagonal:

DSCF7486 This is an adorable free digi image available at Meljen’s Designs, and I thought it made a fast, cute card.  I colored it with my copics, added some borders, buttons and a bow!

The next one is also a digi image from Meljens’s, printed on Kraft paper and colored with copics:

You just can’t get any simpler than that!  I have a friend who is moving away next month…..this will be for her!  The next one uses a little clear stamp and a scrap from my table:

and here’s a birthday card for the same friend who is moving away:

This image was stamped directly on some BG Indian Summer paper….I wish you could see it better, IRL it is very striking!!!  She is a real down-to-earth gal with very simple tastes and worked at a camp on an island in the lake region of upstate NY, so I know she’ll like this!

And another card in the same style.  Thanks for looking today!  If you have any questions about anything I’ve used here, let me know!

Masculine Card

I always seem to need masculine cards, so for today's SCS Challenge, She Scores, I decided to make a masculine card. Yesterday's SCS newsletter had a neat fold card, so I wanted to use that. It is very easy; I added an additional piece of cardstock on the base to give it a little more sturdiness as well as a piece of twill to hold it all together. The clouds were made with a freehand-cut stencil & dauber.

When you slip the corner of the card out from the twill, this is what the inside looks like:07-04-03 Challenge inside

  • Stamps: PTI Everyday Blessings & Paper Tray, Stampscapes Farm
  • Paper: Fall Flowers DP, Confetti White, Old Olive
  • Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky
  • Acc: Twill, Dauber

Thanks for visiting!
