Addicted to CAS Postage Christmas

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I have a quick little clean and simple card today--another Christmas one--for the Addicted to CAS challenge of "postage"!

Last year I got some vintage Christmas postage stamp images from Elizabeth Crafts, so I thought they would be great for the challenge:

Using a Waffle Flower postage die, I cut out two stamps from Basic Beige cardstock and stamped my images in Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce inks, then added some register stamps on a Crumb Cake card behind them:

I have been longing to try to "speckles" on my card to give it a more vintage look, so I watered down some Craft White ink and using my aquapainter, tapped it on the handle of another paintbrush and it didn't turn out too badly.  Looks like snow, although some of them have a more of a raindrop look! I need practice! And just to show you that even after 25 years of stamping, there are still things to learn:

Be sure your Cherry Cobbler ink is fully dry on your Crumb Cake card BEFORE you add your speckles.  Better yet, speckle first, THEN stamp!  I hope the recipient won't mind the blurry sentiment, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC656 Noel

Happy Monday, peeps! We have a lovely sketch for you at Atlantic Hearts this week:

Nice and easy!  I am working on increasing my Christmas card stash, so here we go:

I used some postage stampp images from Elizabeth Craft Designs, along with an oldie-but-goodie sentiment stamp from Many Merry Messages!   I stamped the images with Mossy Meadow ink on Mellow Moss and Basic Beige cardstocks:

I added some Cherry Cobbler layers as well as a single snowflake to give it a little contrast.  A sentiment from Christmas Labels and a little deer from the Elizabeth set went on the inside:

Simple and easy! I hope you'll play with our lovely sketch this week too! Share your creation with us at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog!

For John's birthday, we went to a local brew pub where he got a salad that came on the most enormous plate I've ever seen! (He also got some cheesesteak eggrolls!):

What made the meal extra special was that the restaurant used to be a garage---a garage owned by my uncle!  I can remember going there with my dad when I was a little girl....at least 60 years ago! It changed a wee bit!  The only downside was that it was extremely loud, but I guess that's because it was jam packed, so it must be popular!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC634 Christmas Postage Collage

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend! It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch, and I confess that this one threw me for loop!  Here we go:

I really had no idea what to do with it, but I had just received some Christmas postage stamp images, so I decided to stamp and diecut a few.  Then I remembered a few other postage stamp images I had, so I went to work.  Here's my eclectic take on the sketch:

I just love these images! Most of them are from Elizabeth Crafts; the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  The dies are from Waffle Flower.  I used Basic Beige for the stamps themselves and a variety of colors of inks:

The card base is Crumb Cake; the inside sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp:

I hope you'll play along with our interesting sketch this week!  It is a great one to use up some coordinating scraps of DSP, don't you think?  We can't wait to see what you do; share it with us at Atlantic Hearts!!!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!
