TO132 Wedding Card

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday!  A young couple from our church got married over the weekend and I made them a wedding card using the Time Out Challenge for my inspiration:

I still had some of this DSP from last year (can't remember the name--Floral Boutique, thanks Karen!), and I thought it would look lovely with some Blushing Bride accents:

I used some old and new dies for my butterfly and the trim, and a sentiment from Best Birds:

and again, some old and new stamps for the inside:

They are off honeymooning in England, I can't wait to hear about that trip!!!

Saturday was church clean-up day; it started out a little cloudy but the sun came out and warmed everything up!  Cassidy was on wheelbarrow duty:

She probably took more breaks than wheeled the wheelbarrow, if I know her, LOL!

The pastor's kids got in on the action too!  Look at one-year-old Joshua with his little rake!

The team did an AMAZING job....there were lots and lots of leaves to be cleaned up...now we're ready for spring!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS349 Wedding Congrats

Hi peeps!  Just a quick post today before heading off to the pool.  The FMS sketch is a nice simple one:

and it is perfect for showing off these gorgeous Petal Promenade DSPs!!!  I need a wedding card for the end of the month, so I thought this would be a great sketch for it:

The paper does most of the work; I did add a Congratulations sentiment (Flourishing Phrases) and some little vellum doodads.  I diecut them from the Flourishes die set, then colored them with Old Olive and Calypso Coral blends...the alcohol inks dry very quickly!  I adhered them under a little piece of Mossy Meadow ribbon:

A quick sentiment on the inside and it was done!!  Thanks for popping in today; enjoy your day and be blessed!  And here are a few more birthday cards:

This cheerful, colorful one is from my friend Joan:

And I've never been able to master a waterfall card, but Teri did an awesome job...so cool!

Another fun fold from my friend Kim:

And this beauty from my friend Sally...just love these colors!

Thanks, ladies!  You bright a smile to my face and make getting older a little easier!

We played "beauty salon" the other day and I gave Cassidy a manicure:

She saw a hack where you put your freshly-manicured fingers in an ice bath for a minute, and it cures them quickly....I think she forgot that putting your fingers in ice water for that length of time is pretty chilly!!!

That nail polish lasted less than a day, LOL!  So much for that hack!

IB21 Mr and Mrs

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I hope and pray you are having a good week so far!  It's time for another Inspired By challenge; I went clean and simple for a wedding card this week:

And here is Laurel's prompt for this week...SO cute:

My inspiration came from the leather suitcases, white letters and that pretty pink flower arrangement!!!  I have lots of scraps from my Wood Textures DSP pile, so I found a nice strip and adhered the Mr & Mrs diecut letters on top.  I used a piece of Adhesive Sheet on the back of white cardstock, so once they were cut out, it was really easy to adhere them...no messy glue smooshing out!  A sentiment from the new Stitched All Around fit perfectly (and rhymes, too) above the letters!

The pretty floral is (again) from Tim Holtz's Flower Garden; I inked it in Versamark and Melon Mambo, then heat embossed it with embossing powder, and used a Copic to color it in.  The leaves in the background are from a past Paper Pumpkin kit; they were supposed to be "clear", but my Versamark pad had a wee little bit of the Melon Mambo ink left on the surface, so the leaves came out a very pale pink....which looked kinda nice, so I left it as it was!  They were embossed with clear embossing powder as well:

There's another beautiful sentiment in the Stitched All Around set, so I stamped that on the inside:

I have a wedding to attend in August, so I am well ahead with this card!  I hope you'll play with our pretty inspiration challenge, and make sure you check out the IB blog to see what the DT came up with!

Cassidy and my two great-nieces....ornery, all three!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASCSC269 Lilac Wedding

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My sister needed a wedding card...'tis the season, I guess...and I am pretty sure the bride is a fan of lavender, so I used the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch:

and some pretty Graphics 45 papers to create a card for her:

I had to remind myself that the challenge is "clean and simple" so I didn't add a lot of embellishments!  The sentiment is from Suite Sayings (ret), stamped in Elegant Eggplant, and I added a little flower from W+9's Freehand Florals set, stamped in Almost Amethyst and Wisteria Wonder, with a leaf stamped in Wild Wasabi:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Better Together and added another floral:

All the cardstock is Papertrey's Rustic White!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

The family went on a little hike on Sunday:

Everyone's squinting!  What's that bright thing in the sky?  Oh, it's the SUN!  It made an appearance for a couple of days and now it's gone again!  Hopefully it will be back tomorrow!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS333 and HOC April Wedding Love

Happy Saturday, peeps!  It's wedding day for John's nephew Philip, so my card today is a wedding card using the FMS sketch by Narelle and (again) the House of Cards challenge, this time the colors:

I remembered that her shower invite was florals in wine and pinks, so I found some papers from Authentique called Grateful, and went to work with my Altenew Painted Flowers set:

I stamped the flowers on some Rustic White (Papertrey) cardstock in Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black nks; the sentiment is from an Avery Elle stamp called Peonies.  I added some scalloped mats and a few sequins:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from God's Blessings (ret) and added just the outline stamp of the flower in Sweet Sugarplum...I really like that effect!

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge too!

A little origami activity:

A penguin and a giraffe...not a good photo but you get the idea!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS309 Getting Hitched

Hi everyone!  Thursday's here...the week is almost over and the weekend is near!  We have a wedding to go to on Friday afternoon....it's called an "I Do Barbecue"!!!  I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for the couple's card:

By stamping standards, this is probably a little odd for a wedding card, but the invitation featured a wood background, daisies and a little country thrown in:

I used some Wood Textures DSP for the background and Painted Autumn for the larger circular element, then cut out two cowboy boots in Dazzling Diamonds and Basic Black glimmer paper for the smaller circle.  Each circle has a stitched mat, as does the woodgrain and the horizontal panel:

I used a past Paper Pumpkin sentiment for the front, and a computer-generated sentiment on the inside:

I am looking forward to this "I Do Barbecue"!!!  Thanks for popping in today!

A little Mommy and Me manicure time!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
