JAI777 Something Seasonal

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The Just Add Ink challenge this week is "Something Seasonal":

I have a class this week at the retirement community where Dana works, and they had requested winter birthdays, so one of the cards we'll be making just happened to fit JAI's challenge:

The skates are from Avery Elle and the sentiment is from SU's Greetings of the Season and Everyday Greetings (both from 2024).  Skates were stamped in Basic Gray, and then colored with Blends.  They're mounted on a pretty embossed panel of Coastal Cabana.  The inside sentiment is from Waffle Flower:

And since this Avery Elle set has been in my stash for at least five years, I am adding it to the Retro Rubber challenge of "Anything Goes"!

Lots of errands to run today, so I am "skating" off, saying thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed! And STAY WARM!

AHSC663 Birthday for a Friend

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend! I am slowly getting back into the swing of things! It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I have a friend whose birthday is today, and she loves purple, so this one is for her!

I used some pretty (shiny!) papers from Gina K called Sending Love as well as the butterfly from Sketched Butterflies.  The horizontal panel is Granny Apple Green, diecut with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits die and accented with some white seam binding ribbon.  The butterfly was stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink on Highland Heather cardstock and diecut with the matching die.  Sentiment is from Everyday Greetings:

The inside sentiment is also from Everyday Greetings and Greetings of the Season:

I did add some Wink of Stella to the butterfly as well as some pretty pearls to my square piece!  I am hand-delivering this, so no worries about those big fat pearls, LOL!

I hope you'll play along with this fun sketch this week....lots of opportunities to use up some of your small scraps that I know you have in your stash!  Share it with us at the Atlantic Hearts blog!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC662 Happy New Year!

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Ours was very busy visiting friends and family, as well as hosting as well!  We still have New Year's to look forward to as well!  I rarely send out New Year's cards, but since I did miss sending a Christmas card or two, I thought I'd make a couple to mail out!  Just in time, the new Atlantic Hearts Sketch is up:

I also used the photo inspiration from Inspired By:

And here we go:

I must say this card was not without its issues---I forgot that I should only use Stazon when stamping on vellum, and that glue dots show through when you use black cardstock!  Oh well!  The balloons were punched out of various glimmer papers with the retired balloon punch; sentiment is from the retired Greetings of the Season, diecut with the Stitched So Sweetly die.  I embossed a piece of vellum with the Wishing Stars embossing folder from Spellbinders, and I added some swirly stars (Close to My Heart) and some miscellaneous sequins.  Everything went on a Very Vanilla card!

I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week!  It's a fun one!  Be sure to share it with us at Atlantic Hearts!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP763 Color Challenge from Jan

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's Jan's turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players, and she has a nice fall-feeling color palette for us this week:

My dad's cousin is turning 93 this month, so I took advantage of these colors to make him a fall-themed birthday card using some Autumn Toile DSP:

I used some Everyday Arch dies to create a tag with Basic White and Old Olive cardstocks, and used some Mossy Meadow baker's twine for the embellishment.  Sentiments are from Everyday Greetings and Greetings of the Season; the foliage is from Lasting Joy:

Here's the inisde:

Lots of fun ways to use these colors this week! Stop over at the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers did with them!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Tractor Fun

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a "just for fun" card today using a new Online Exclusive set that came out yesterday called Tractor & Company!  I usually steer clear of bundles with lots of fussy little pieces because inevitably, I find them too time-consuming, but since I grew up on a farm and have lots of farm-y people in my circle of acquaintances, I thought I'd go for it!  The first card definitely took a while to create, but it was fun:

My dad had Massey-Harris tractors when I was young, so I chose to make my tractor red!  I diecut and stamped all the images and created a little cloud for the sentiment using the retired Basic Borders die.  I also used the diecut edges to sponge some other clouds in the sky:

Cute sentiment, too!  My second one was much simpler; no diecutting, just stamping.  I really messed up my snowflakes, but this one was easy enough that I may just do another one:

I have a couple more ideas for this set, so you'll probably see it again soon!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP737 Color Challenge from Ann

Happy Sunday, and Happy Mother's Day if you're a mom of any sort!  Ann is our Paper Players hostess today and she has a lovely color palette for us to play with:

My first thought went to flowers, but I had to be a rebel and opted instead for another Christmas card! Check it out:

I used the snowflake images from Iconic Imagery, diecutting them and embellishing them with a wee little rhinestone.  They are sitting on a Basic White panel that was embossed with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder.  Words from the same set were stamped at the top in Berry Burst, and I added a sweet little Lost Lagoon Soft Cord bow for another embellishment:

I stamped a sentiment from Greetings of the Season on the inside, along with a few more snowflakes:

My layout is from Linda's Freshly Made Sketches sketch, and I am also entering this at the Krafty Chicks, where they are looking for Christmas:

These colors are so pretty, I hope you'll be able to create something lovely with them too!  Be sure to check out what the DT created at the PP blog and share yours with us!  Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Merry Christmas Bells

Happy Saturday, peeps! A quick card today, a Christmas one that basically has almost no stamping!  The Jingle Belles want to see bells, and I've used the sketch from TGIF Challenges:

I found this star and bell cutout in my scrap bin while rummaging around on my desk and thought it would fit the bell challenge nicely!  I pulled out some DSPs from my stash and put them all together:

The star and pink snowflake papers are from Mintay (Merry Little Christmas), and the background paper is from Divinity Designs (Christmas Paper Collection 2014).  The little diecut is from Gummiapan:

I added some pink sequins, and before adhering the pink paper, I diecut out a panel from the background and used it to stamp the sentiment for the inside; it's from SU's Greetings of the Season:

Another Christmas card to add to my stash!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Love & Joy Christmas Shaker

Happy Friday, peeps! A quick post as I am hosting a ladies luncheon today to celebrate a dear friend's birthday! And it's a surprise!  So let's go!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge is a shaker card, and as much as I love them, they're always a challenge to me!

I thought the new Flip Flap window envelopes that are used for scrapbooking might be a fun choice to use for the shaker portion, so I gave it a try. So here we go:

I started by diecutting a tree from a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock, then embossing the panel with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder. I used a piece of Mintay's Merry Little Christmas paper in a snowflake pattern to insert inside one of the top-loading Flip Flaps and filled it with sequins.  I trimmed the adhesive flap so that it would adhere on the inside of the pocket and attached it to the back of the card front.  Of course, no matter what you use to hold your sequins, gravity insists that they collect at the bottom of your card, LOL!  I added a glimmer star at the top, and everything went on a Soft Sky card base with a little sentiment from Greetings of the Season:

And on the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Peaceful Season:

It does look nice when you shake it, but you'll have to take my word for it!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC622 Sweet Merry Christmas

Happy Monday, peeps! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I pulled out some papers I got last year on sale and made a Christmas card:

The background and two of the banners use papers from the Christmas Paper Collection 2014 from Divinity Designs; the pale pink and blue are from Mintay's Merry Little Christmas.  That adorable  little sentiment banner is from a company called Gummiapan and it is as cute as can be!  There is a little star opening on the end, which I backed with a sliver of white glimmer paper, although you can't see it here:

I added some star sequins as well as some Glittered Organdy Ribbon, which has some pretty pink and blue glitter in it!  Finally, the inside, stamped in Riding Hood Red, from Greetings of the Season:

It feels good to add another Christmas card to my stash!  I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week...you can see all the designers' projects on Wednesday, but you can play along now!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC620 Pink & Gray Christmas

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I've made another Christmas card using the most recent Atlantic Hearts sketch:

And I used the color palette from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown:

And here we go:

Did you ever have an idea for a card, then when you were finished, thought to yourself that maybe those elements put together wasn't such a good idea? This was one of those cards!  I think the diecut snowflakes were just a wee bit too much, or maybe it's the glittery Christmas sentiment!  Anyway, I had already put a lot of effort into it, so I just went with it!  I used Pirouette Pink and Smoky Slate for my main colors; the snowflake paper is from Mintay.  The white panel is embossed with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder.  I used a retired SU die for the snowflake border, embellishing it with some metallic pearls.  The sentiments are from the Peaceful Season bundle and Greetings of the Season:

The inside was also from Greetings of the Season:

It's still a lovely sketch and I may try to create something different with it later, LOL!  But at least I have another card for my Christmas stash!  I hope you'll play along too and share your creation with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

52CCT Love & Joy

Happy Monday, peeps! A cold, snowy morning here in SE PA and I have just the card to share with you!!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown wants to see a wild animal on our holiday cards!

The Winter Meadow DSP has a deer featured on one of its patterns and although it's not a very interesting shade of gray, I do like the background trees!  So here we go:

For my sentiment, I used the new Bright Borders stamp, heat embossed with white ink on Basic Gray, and punched it out with the matching To The Point Label punch.  The sentiment inside is from Greetings of the Season, which fit nicely;

I added a few metallic pearls to the front, then stamped another sentiment from the Greetings of the Season set inside:

I've been pretty lax on starting my Christmas cards this year, so I am happy to finally begin to add to my stash!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP719 Color Challenge from Ann

Happy Sunday, stampers! Today is our last Paper Players challenge of the year, with Ann as our hostess, and she has a wonderful color palette for us:

What a great way to end our holiday stamping, right?!  I just had to go with the retired Poinsettia Petals set, embossed in gold, with some Pretty Peacock accents:

I remembered some gold-printed DSP from waaaay back so I pulled that out for a background panel, and I also used the retired Pine Bough embossing folder as well:

The sentiment is from the same poinsettia set, but I mounted it on a banner from the Peaceful Season set, and added some gold pearls for accent.  The inside sentiment is from Greetings of the Season:

Of course, I had another idea in mind, so I made a second card, similar layout, using the Christmas Labels set and a diecut bell:

And a little sentiment from Lil'Inkers, which is where the bell is from as well, for in the inside:

I hope you'll come play along with our last challenge of the season, and share your color-filled creation wtih us at the Paper Players! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
