Lost Lagoon Sleigh Bells Ring

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Can you handle another Christmas card?  The Paper Players got me on a roll, LOL!  I've got three challenges here to play with:

and Sandy's Stamp Ink Paper sketch and the Retro Rubber brad challenge

SIP Sketch Challenge 55 800RRCB 42

I started out with a retired SU set called Sleigh Bells Ring...it's from 2007!  My whole card is in shades of Lost Lagoon...here we go:

I had a couple of pieces of Vintage Christmas DSP from My Mind's Eye in the perfect shade, so I used them for my background; I stamped the image on Very Vanilla textured cardstock and trimmed it down.  I added a silver glimmer brad, some pretty Lost Lagoon ribbon and some Dazzling Diamonds snow!

The outside sentiment is from a new SU set called Oh What Fun, and although it's tough to see, there are sleigh bells stamped on the right side of the card front; they're from the same set.  The inside sentiment is from Sleigh Bells Ring, but I did add some holly in the corners, and that's also from Oh What Fun:

A fun mix of old and new!  Thanks for popping in today!

Just in case you thought maybe Cassidy grew out of her "lining things up" obsession, here you go:

These little magnastix make a perfect grid!  Enjoy your day!

Merry Monday 130

DSCF5599

Happy Monday, everyone!  This week I am the hostess at Merry Monday; it will be my last time to be hostess, too, as I am stepping down from the MM at the end of the month!  I want to thank Lesley for asking me to be one of the original participants; we’ve had a lot of fun and shared a lot of creativity over the last couple of years!

My challenge this week is Silent Night:

Silent night is one of my favorite Christmas hymns, and I am looking forward to seeing all the submissions this week!  Here is mine, using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week:

Here’s the sketch:

I used a retired image from SU’s To You & Yours, stamped in Lost Lagoon; the DSP is All is Calm.  The sentiment is a retired Cornish Heritage Farms one, stamped in White Craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder on a piece of Soft Sky cardstock.  I added a sparkly snowflake as well:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from another retired set, Let Sleigh Bells Ring, stamping it over the dove image from To You & Yours:

I love these colors together, and I am thrilled to have another Christmas card to add to my stash!  Be sure to check out the Merry Monday blog to see how the other designers interpreted this challenge, and share yours with us too!

We took a walk to feed the horses last week:

And the horse says, “I want my picture taken too!”

Merry Monday 80

DSCF8706

Happy Monday, everyone!  It must be Monday….my tail is dragging and I totally forgot to set up my post!  But no fear, here it is!  Lesley has the sweetest challenge for us today for Merry Monday, and I must say, I had a dozen ideas floating in my head, especially since I love vintage scenes:

But I also had a lovely little stamp from Waltzingmouse that said “Sleigh Bells Ring…are you listening?”…..and I had been wanting to use that one for a while, and this seemed like a good time!  Now forgive me, because it’s another blue and silver card like last week:

This time I used Soft Sky, and because it is such a subtle color, it is a bit difficult to see the scene, but I can assure you that the couple riding in their sleigh, over the snow-covered hills and bridge to the church beyond, is just delightful:

I tried several different ways to stamp the sentiment, but in the end, embossing it with silver embossing powder seemed to stand out the best:

And of course, Dazzling Diamonds glitter and a silver glimmer snowflake make it even better!  I stamped the inside sentiment with Smoky Slate, and that really looks nice on the Soft Sky cardstock.

The design team has really outdone themselves with this challenge and I can just hear the creative wheels turning out there in stampin’ land….so get your ink and paper and crank up some Christmas tunes and show us what you’ve got at Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper!  Can’t wait to see them!

I apologize for scaring everyone by showing you pictures of Cassidy with a knife!!  I assure you, it was a plastic knife and I was with her each step of the way; truthfully, she doesn’t have enough strength to push the knife down to cut anything---she mostly tore the lettuce up (with Grammy’s help), so she was in no danger of injury….but I definitely will have to watch her in the future.  Here she is, the morning before she made her “wood” cake…we were making a real applesauce cake with raisins for Grampy…and that’s why she wanted to make her own cake for him as well!

Enjoy your day!
