Jingle Shells

Happy Friday, peeps! I have a fun Christmas card today, which uses the sketch from FMS, the Under the Sea challenge from Retro Rubber, and the Krafty Chicks Christmas challenge:

I pulled out an old set from 2007 called Crab & Company to make my funny card:

I used some "bubbly" DSPs, cutting them out with a Stitched Rectangle die, then added the little sea creatures, all stamped with Versafine Black ink and watercolored:

To highlight the sentiment, I stamped a circle from SU's 2002 set called Little Shapes! I had forgotten all about this set, but it's pretty handy!  I added some yellow sequins too:

My inside sentiment is from Market Street Stamps called Country Christmas; I think it is from 2006! It's old, at any rate!

I had lots of fun making this little cutie and I can another to my stash!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC556 One More Christmas Card

Happy Thursday, everyone! I have suffered from stamping withdrawal!! I locked myself in my craft room this morning, leaving unwrapped gifts sitting on my kitchen table, and made myself stamp something! The Atlantic Hearts sketch is always one of my favorites:

While I was doing my video workout this morning, the leader had a pretty decoration on her wall; it had a black background and a white wreath, so I thought I'd use it as my inspiration! It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted, but I got some ideas for future use, LOL!  So here we go:

I used lots of different products on my card today!  The DSPs I used are SU's One Horse Sleigh and Fitting Florets as well as some Gold Foil.  The Basic Black circle was stamped with a bough stamp from Market Street Stamps' Country Christmas, in Craft White ink. I gave it some "snow" with a white gel pen:

The gold-embossed "Christmas" is from Impression Obsession; the "Merry" is from Peachy Cheap, and the bow is from Country Wreath dies.  I added a few sprigs from Cottage Wreaths, stamped in Gray Granite. My final addition was some gold pearls!  This will go into next year's stash!  Thanks so much for popping in today!

I made another trip to Longwood; this time it was at 10 am...MUCH fewer crowds, and easier to gaze at some of the indoor sights a little longer!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Recycled Snowmen

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  I have an uber-quick card today, made for the Jingle Belles challenge of  "Let There Be Peace"....for Earth Day, we are to recycle something on our card! I have been saving this card front from a Christmas card I received a long time ago, and thought it would be fun to use it to create a new one!  No stamping on the front, just the inside, but I did add some glimmer paper snowflakes:

The snowmen look a little blurry because they're totally glitter-covered!  In real life, they look amazing, and that's why I couldn't bear to part with it.  I trimmed it down and mounted it on a Cherry Cobbler card base, then added the snowflakes in the corners:

I added a Very Vanilla mat on the inside, stamped with a checkerboard strip and country-style sentiment, both of which are from an old Market Street stamp set called Country Christmas, which has been discontinued, sadly:

Another card for my Christmas card stash!

I managed to get a picture of Cassidy as she was joining church yesterday...not a good picture, but one nonetheless!  Then she was off to a soccer game! (They won again!)

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Washi Tags

DSCF8908-001
Happy Saturday, peeps!  Wow, it has only been a few days that I haven’t posted, but it feels like forever!  My sweet friend Linda at The Catered Crop chose this card to highlight earlier this week and asked me to participate in this week’s challenge, which is to use Washi Tape!   So I searched my stash and realized I had more than I thought!!!   I wanted to do something other than a card, so I looked through my “alterable” box and found these tags I bought a looooooong time ago at my local office supply store.  Once I got started, I couldn’t’ stop!!!

I don’t usually make tags for my Christmas gifts because we all know where they end up, but I felt that using up some of my stash of alterables was a good sign that I am working on not hoarding stuff, LOL!  Here are some closeups:

All the tags use the washi tape along the bottom edge; they are from various sources, including Stampin Up, Martha Stewart and another company that I can’t remember (because I threw out the packaging!).  The images are from various sources; if you want to know a specific image, send me an email (NOT a comment) and I’ll do my best to let you know the manufacturer.  As I said, I had a blast making these and will gladly embellish my gifts this year with them!  Be sure to pop over to The Catered Crop to see what else those clever stampers have come up with!
I know Halloween is over, but I wanted to share with you some cookie-making we did earlier in the week:
We rolled out the dough and cut it with Halloween cookie cutters:

After decorating them with sprinkles and baking them, we put them on a plate:

But the best part was giving Grampy a green bat-shaped cookie!  (He doesn’t look too sure of this, but he ate it!!!)

Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

DSCF5816-001

Happy Friday, peeps! Phew, what a long week this was!  I am happy to see the end of it and meet with my club girls tonight!  When I saw the Play Date Café challenge this week, I knew immediately what to submit!  Here’s the challenge:

I actually made this last month but never posted it.  My sister has bee hives and was giving a gift of honey to friends for their anniversary.  Since I love bees too (but not to the extent of having hives!!!!), I had plenty of bee-themed stamps and happily made her a sweet little tag for her honey:

DSCF5817

I used a plethora of images here; the main beehive is from an old SU stamp set called Garden Pleasures; the bee is from Nature Walk; the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes; the honey comb is from MFT and the frame is from Waltzingmouse.  I sponged the edges and shabbied up some Daffodil Delight ribbon to give it a more vintage look:

I loved it so much, I hated to give it away, so maybe I’ll make another!  If you have any questions about specifics on the project, just shoot me an email!  Remember, if you leave a question in the comment box, I can’t always access your email to answer you personally!   Thanks for visiting today!

Merry Monday July!

DSCF6119

Happy July 1, peeps!  It’s Monday and that means Merry MondayLesley is taking a wee bit of a break for July, and that means our challenge will be a wee bit different!  The linky will be open all month long for you to share your Christmas creations, and it’s “Anything Goes”!!!

She’ll be showcasing some Guest Designers as well, so make sure you check out her blog, Always Playing with Paper!

For my card, I chose to use the Festive Friday challenge 11 as my starting point:

I had several ideas swirling around in my head, but in the end, went with the trees from the retired set, Patterned Pines:

Merry Monday July - LeAnne 1

I stamped my trees in Garden Green, Wild Wasabi and Pear Pizzazz, then cut them out and mounted them on a scrap of woodgrain paper and mounted it on a piece of white Woodgrain embossed cardstock.  The little sentiment flag is from Market Street Stamps, the snowflake is from Itty Bitties:

I hope you’ll take some time to play with us and make one more Christmas card!  You’ll be glad you did!  And be sure to check out the other designers fabulous creations as well at Always Playing with Paper!

Can’t remember if I shared this photo Dana snapped or not:

Merry Monday 61

DSCF4655

Happy Monday, peeps!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  We’re back again with a lovely sketch from Lesley for our Merry Monday challenge:

I went super-duper easy on this one, letting my DP do most of the work:

MM60-LeAnne

I added a cute little sentiment flag and a matching gingham flag, both cut from the snowy bottom section of my DP, adding a little snowflake embellishment:

DSCF4653

I carried through the snowflake theme on the inside, using another piece of the same paper:

The card base is Marina Mist, and all the edges were sponged with white craft ink for more snowy goodness!  Hope you’ll play along with us….I think this is one of the nicest sketches that Lesley has ever done!  Check out all the samples at her blog, Always Playing with Paper, and play along with us too!  You could be our guest designer or featured stamper!!!  As always, if you have any questions, please send me an email!

Just enjoying the sunshine with cousin Trent!
