Ahh, it’s Friday!  The end of a terrific week, and hopefully the start of a terrific weekend!  I don’t really care much about the Super Bowl but the commercials are fun to watch!

Anyway, I combined a couple of challenges for my card today…the pretty colors from my sweet friends at the Color Throwdown:

and the awesome sketch from my sweet friend Linda at Freshly Made Sketches:
The samples using this sketch were just fabulous….in fact, I was intimidated because I was sure whatever I made wouldn’t be up to snuff!  But I needed some birthday cards for a card order, so I went to work using a retired SU stamp given to me by a dear friend:

This went together fairly quickly, even though I cut out all the shells and popped up the conch.  I wish I had put the sentiment in a different spot, but it’s there now…maybe I’ll make another!  The cheesecloth is a retired Cornish Heritage Farms stamp, and I also used Gorgeous Grunge for some water “spray”!

Does this make you wish for warmer temperatures?  It does me!  They’ll be here before we know it and we’ll be complaining about how hot it is!  Enjoy your day!

Cassidy has finally grasped the concept of Candyland….and even won a game yesterday!

Kraft Journal Sketch 156

DSCF0582

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a masculine birthday card for you today, courtesy of The Kraft Journal’s sketch 156:

While I love Sale-a-bration and the mini catalogs, I sometimes think the sets from the regular catalog get forgotten, so I am trying to use them more often.  You see lots of the other stuff out in blogland, so hopefully you’ll see something different here!  I pulled out Soho Subway DP and Postage Due for this one:

I stamped directly onto the Soho Subway paper, grunging it up with Gorgeous Grunge, and distressing my little postage stamps a bit; I even pulled the paper layers apart so they had a lighter feel to them:

I added some burlap trim, distressed my mats, and added a little sentiment banner, and it was done!  Now it’s off to the mailbox to its receipient!

This is what I call the “bossy face”…

Ahhhh….this one is better!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  A quick little card today, unfortunately a sympathy card, using The Shabby Tea Room inspiration photo and a sketch from RetroSketches:

Isn’t that a cozy inspiration photo?  Love it!  And here we go:

My card base is 4 1/4”, Sahara Sand, with some MME Lost & Found Sunshine papers on which I did some stitching, then stamped some swirls, polka dots and butterflies.  My Tiny Teacup (ret SU) was also stamped in Sahara Sand ink and, channeling my inner Ann, embellished with lots of pearls!

The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede and is from Blessings from Heaven.  Thanks for popping in today!

Sale-a-Bration Time!

DSCF0534

Hi peeps!  Today’s the day---it’s all around blogland, it’s Sale-a-Bration time!  I finally had a chance to play with some of SAB goodies; I needed a bridal shower card and I thought I could put them to good use:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings SAB 2014 Stampin Up

Maybe this sentiment is more suited to a wedding card, but I think it works for a bridal shower as well.  I used Strawberry Slush, Blushing Bride and Crisp Cantaloupe inks; SAB sets See Ya Later and Banner Blast, and the SAB embossing folder Decorative Dots.  I don’t have the banner punch yet, but you can see how easy they are just to snip out:

And that beautiful Crisp Cantaloupe cord is also a SAB freebie…it’s from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack!

So if you’ve been putting off ordering some supplies, now is the time to do it!  For every $50 purchase (before tax and S&H), you can choose from a plethora of exclusive stamps and accessories!  Click below to see all the details!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Wow, this month is almost over…how can that be?  Arielle is ending January with a beauty of a challenge today:

And with apologies to my SIL (sorry, Louise), who despises buttons, I chose to make an art piece rather than a card today!  I had a plethora of pink buttons and a premade burlap-covered frame:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ 226 Pinterest Inspired Button and Felt Heart

so I simply cut out a white felt heart using SU’s Heart Framelits, then just hot glued all the buttons on….you may still see some of those pesky hot-glue threads, LOL!  I added three little love sentiments from the Expressions Thinlits in Primrose Petals, Blush Blossom and Pink Pirouette:

And finally, to finish it off, I attached some beautiful (retired) pleated ribbon in Blush Blossom on the sides:

And it looks “lovely” hanging on my craft room wall!  Now, what can you create with these soft beautiful colors of love?  I hope you will play along and share your creation with us at the ColourQ blog!  Can’t wait to see them!

John is working on the inside of his new garage, putting up insulation.  The mountains of them were too enticing for Cassidy not to play on!!!  Of course, it’s still about 25 degrees inside….brrrrrr!

Enjoy your day!
