SIP81 Curvy Keepsake Love Box

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday, and that means another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  I love black and white, and it's always fun trying to decide what color to put with it!

Image may contain: text

Since Valentine's is coming up, I went with black, white and red, and dusted off my Curvy Keepsake Box die, which I haven' used in a looooong time, and went to work:

I cut out the two pieces of the box and tried to emboss them with the Happy Hearts folder, but I couldn't work it, so I cut the sides apart from the box, then embossed each piece separately, and then used my Tombow glue to securely glue them to another two box pieces.  It makes the box a little thicker, but still works fine!  I used some black glimmer paper from which to diecut the "love" sentiment, and the Love Notes die to cut out the red glimmer paper hearts.  I cut a red and white tag with the tag die from Circle Card thinlet die and stamped a sentiment from Sealed with Love on top, then added some baker's twine and Cherry Cobbler ribbon:

It's all ready to be filled with some Valentine goodies!  Thanks for popping in, and be sure to check out what the other SIP designers came up with this week!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone!  I wish you all a happy, healthy Christ-filled day!  HIS gift is the best gift of all!  We plan to spend the next two days with family, eating, playing games and celebrating all the blessings the Lord has given us over the past year!

Every year, I make Cassidy a handmade Christmas ornament.  Since I've learned to knit, this year, she got a little Santa hat:

complete with sequins and snowflakes around the brim!  And I had to make a special package for it; I hadn't used the Snow Place stamp set very often this season, so I thought she would like this wee little snowman outside his little green Curvy Keepsake box, wearing his own Santa hat:

My friend Martha gave me a lovely assortment of sturdy DSPs and they made wonderful boxes!!!

And here are a couple of other crafty things I knitted this year, using the same yarn as Cassidy's Santa hat (forgive me if I showed these before, but I don't think I did):

And finally, my little helper cracking a dozen eggs, getting ready to make my Christmas morning casserole!  One down, eleven to go!

Have a wonderful day!

Kraft Journal 246

DSCF2449

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I hadn’t played too much with my Curvy Keepsake die lately, and when I saw this adorable creation by Rachel Tessman, I knew I had to make one of my own!  The Kraft Journal has a scarecrow challenge this week and since I don’t have any scarecrow stamps, I thought this would be perfect!

Mine’s a wee bit different from Rachel’s; I used Crumb Cake for my box, stamping the line image from Gorgeous Grunge in Sahara Sand (stamped off) in both directions on each portion of it, shading the edges as well. I used a few punches for the eyes, cut out the nose freehand, and drew on the mouth and added a wee bit of “rouge” with Watermelon Wonder and a sponge dauber!

His “hair” was created by using a crimper on Hello Honey, Crumb Cake and So Saffron scraps, then cutting them into strips, gathering them together and tying them with some linen thread and adhering them to the top of the box with Sticky Strip.  I diecut a black crow from an old Sizzlet (Birds & Blooms, I believe) and created a tag with the acorn from September’s Paper Pumpkin kit; I used a Cajun Craze marker to ink up a portion of a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes:

Hmmmm…..I might just fill him up with some candy and give him away as a door prize tonight at my Halloween treat class!  What do you think?

Cassidy wanted to make some Halloween cards for her friends on the bus…I’ll just show you one today!  She was fascinated by this black spiderweb paper, but I told her she could only stamp with white on it, so we picked out a little ghost stamp and I helped her stamp them all around the edge.  She then insisted on giving them smiles:

All of them….I guess she doesn’t realize ghosts are supposed to be spooky!  Lots of little Caspers here!

Don’t they make YOU want to smile?  Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 231

DSCF7844-001

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope all is well in your wee world!  Today, we have Nance’s color challenge to share with you over at the Paper Players!  Here ya go:

This is definitely Nance’s style!  I found the color combo challenging, but in the end, I like it!  Here’s my take on it:

Of course, I had to do a Valentine-themed project!  I thought it would be fun to make a little Curvy Keepsake favor, so I made mine in Real Red, embossing it with the Happy Heart embossing folder (a little tricky, but I managed to get all four flaps embossed!), and adding some Calypso Coral embellishments!  I made a flower with some Stacked with Love DSP, the Pansy punch and a black glimmer brad, then mounted it on a tag created with Calypso Coral cardstock and the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit:

I added a banner stamped with a sentiment from Something to Say, added a wee red glimmer paper banner as well, and tied it all up with some cotton ribbon and black and white baker’s twine:

I made a little notecard to go with it, using Calypso Coral cardstock stamped in with the Hardwood BG stamp in Craft White ink, then adding a tic-tac-toe image using the stem from the SAB set, Lotus Blossom:

I added some hearts from Something to Say and a sentiment from Good Greetings!  I hope you’ll play along with the Players this week, because we can’t wait to see what you create with Nance’s colors!  You can check out all the designers’ beautiful creations by clicking on their links below:

Cassidy has been sick the last few days….I have never heard anyone sneeze as many times as this poor child has!  You can just see it in her little watery eyes and red runny nose:

Good thing I’m stocked up on tissues!  Achoooo!

Enjoy your day and thanks for popping by!

Hostess Appreciation Party

DSCF7297-001

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend! Yesterday was my appreciation party for all my hostesses, and we had a wonderful time!  We ate and laughed (a lot):

played games (they were challenging!):

and we stamped!  Here’s a quick peek at the projects we made:

A Valentine note card using the Stacked with Love DSP and Chalkboard Paper:

The hearts are from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack; the “xoxo” is from the Circle Card Thinlit.  The inside used the sentiment and heart from Pictogram Punches stamped in Craft White ink and Real Red ink, and accented with the Chalk pen:

The next project was a Tiny Treat Box, which is 2” square, and covered with the cool Adventure Bound DSP (and filled it with Tootsie Rolls!!!!) :

We made a little tag for it using a sentiment from Something to Say and the heart from Epic Alphabet:

Finally, a fun little project using an envelope, some snazzy Best Year Ever DSP from the SAB catalog and the You Brighten My Day SAB stamp set:

I snagged this idea from Dawn Griffith, but for the life of me, I can’t find the post…anyway, you seal an envelope, adhere some DSP to the front, then use the Note Tag punch to punch out the corners one and a half times, leaving a “handle”.  Then we stamped a tag with the You Brighten My Day set and attached it to the front:

and then we put some shreddie inside and put a few kisses in there too!  This is easy enough for children to do….we’ll see if Cassidy will want to make one!

Some of the hostesses participated in a gift exchange, and I was really wowed by the projects they made!  Here’s a few of them:

A note holder made with an adding machine roll, wood and DSP:
