Wishing You The Best

Happy Friday!  It's a wet, rainy start to our holiday weekend!  Hopefully it will clear up by the 4th!  I have a fun card today for two challenges:  the TGIF color challenge and the Fab Friday sketch challenge:

I pulled out some DSPs, my new Basic Border dies and went to work:

I heat-embossed a sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells and a matching Pierced Bloom flower, and mounted everything on a Basic White card base that was embossed with the Dots embossing folder!

And just for fun, I added one of the leftover strips to the inside of the card and stamped a sentiment from Best Year:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your Friday!

We haven't had much luck making our own slime, so we bought some premade and added some goodies to it:

Sparkly and gross!!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP544 Signs of Summer

Hi stampers!  It's Sunday and time for a new Paper Players challenge!  Ann is our hostess and here's her theme for us this week:

I was enamored by that cute little watermelon up in the corner, and the In Colors of Positively Pink and Just Jade seemed to fit perfectly!  So here we go with my CAS creation:

I simply cut the "watermelon" slice with dies from the Layering Circles dies, and stamped the "seeds" with the ice cream drip stamp from Sweet Ice Cream!  I layered it on a Basic White panel that I embossed with the Stitched With Whimsy dies.  I added a sentiment from Welcoming Window, then punched out the corners with the Detailed Trio punch and mounted it on a 4 1/4" square card base of Positively Pink:

I used the sketch from Fab Friday as my layout:
There are so many possibilities with Ann's challenge....summer will soon be upon us in the US and I am sure you can find some inspiration for your stamping!  Be sure to check the Paper Players blog to see what the DT created, and share yours with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Just two dogs checkin' out the neighborhood!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fab Friday 213 Above & Beyond

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I did my civic duty this morning and voted in our primary election.  Voting has always been important, but even more so now!  I also got in some stamping yesterday (that's important too!) and wanted to share some new goodies I got!  I didn't get the Sweet as a Peach stamp, but I did get the VERY pretty You're A Peach DSP, and that's what I am using on my card today!  First, it uses the sketch from Fab Friday:

And here we go:

Pretty straightforward; I let the DSP do most of the work!  The sentiment is from Shaded Summer, stamped in Mossy Meadow; I diecut it with the Tailored Tags die, repositioning it in the Big Shot after the first cut to cut off the top portion so I got a nicely finished rectangle:

My simple embellishments were fussy-cutting some of the flowers from a scrap of DSP and adhering them to the side, then adding a strip of coordinating Pansy Petals DSP behind it.  I did add a Balmy Blue scallop rectangle too, even though that die is retired, I will keep on using it, LOL!  It all went on a Pale Papaya card base.  I love these colors together!

So my sweet friend Fran from Connecticut shared these robin pictures with me and with her permissions, I am sharing them with you!  She has a nest right outside her window and has been watching the mama robin sitting on her eggs, and now they've hatched, so her mothering chores have been amped up, feeding the little ones:

It's not often we get such an up-close personal view, so thanks, Fran!  It is a blessing to see nature at work!  Enjoy your day and be blessed, and thanks for popping by!

Dreaming of a Silver and White Christmas

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a nice weekend...we had rain, sun, more rain....but it was still nice!  I haven't made a Christmas card for a while, so I thought I'd throw my hat in the Christmas Card Throwdown, which is looking for silver and white, the Krafty Chicks Christmas challenge, and the Fab Friday sketch:

I still have lots of  Feels Like Frost DSP, and despite the challenge it is to photograph, I used it anyway:

I used two patterns for the sketch, then diecut some poinsettias from Thick White Cardstock, adding silver centers and berries, then heat-embossed a sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas with silver embossing powder:

Here's another angle....still difficult to capture with the foil!

Saturday was spring clean-up at church.  LeAnne stayed home while the rest of the family raked, pulled leaves and got very wet and grubby!!!

We have a fairly large piece of property; there is a manse on the opposite side of the church as well; the property still has horse sheds from when people used horse and carriages to come to church!

Cassidy got right to work:

But they did get to take breaks, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Merry Christmas Village

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend....we had glorious sunshine one day and downpours the next!  March weather for sure!  I planned to post this Saturday but we had quite an eventful day so I just gave up and posted it today!  I liked the sketch from FMS and so I paired it with the colors from Fab Friday, and the Jingle Belles challenge to use dies!

So here we go:

I started with a Whisper White card base and stamped a bunch of snowflakes on a panel of Misty Moonlight and adhered it on top.  I then stamped a little village scene in Memento Black in colored it with Blends, diecutting it out and placing it atop some die cut snow:

I added a diecut sentiment, a diecut snowflake and a sprinkling of glitter and the front was done!  Here's the inside sentiment!  Such a fun card to create!

So I said we had an eventful Saturday, and before I get started, I'll add a disclaimer!  What we did is not what you SHOULD do when you find a little stray wild animal on the side of the road! But my nephew has a soft heart and when he saw this little furry bundle along the highway, he stopped to pick it up:

The poor thing was covered in dried mud and was in a daze:

I happened to be babysitting Cassidy that morning, so she got a doll's bottle and we gave it some milk, and it really perked up!  What an interesting experience!  I was sure it was a baby mink but the neighbor thought it was a coyote!  Brad actually took it back to where he found it in the hopes of the mother coming back to retrieve it and we meanwhile called the Game Warden.  She was young and only on the job a few weeks, and thought it might be a fisher, but after consulting with the other wardens, they agreed that it probably WAS a coyote!  Yikes! She relocated it to a safer place but I doubt the momma will be able to find it.  A cautionary tale, as we could have gotten rabies or some other disease if it had been a raccoon or opossum and we had gotten bitten, so we were duly chastised, but it really gave us an exciting day!  Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Jingle Belles Text Me

Happy Monday, peeps!  I'm sharing the card I originally made for last week's Paper Players challenge, but I forgot one of the colors....black!  But it was still a cute card, so I am going to share it today.  It uses papers from the same MME pad but it uses a subway-style sentiment stamp I've had for a few years from CTMH, which makes it perfect for the Jingle Belles "Text Me" challenge!!  Here we go:

I used the Fab Friday sketch:

and I used some Red Glimmer paper and Silver Foil for my banners, adding some stars randomly:

inside and out!  The sentiment on the inside is from Concord & 9th's Joyful Noel, diecut with a Pretty Pink Posh stitched die:

It all went on a Blushing Bride card base!  Thanks for popping in today!

Over the weekend, we drove from PA to northwestern NC to buy a truck for John!  He's really fussy about the kind of truck he drives so when he saw it on line, he jumped at the chance.  It's a stick shift, which is hard to find, most everyone wants automatic!  We left at the ungodly hour of 2:30 am to beat traffic around Baltimore and DC but of course, we did hit it on the way home.  Yuck!  Here is Mr Photogenic getting ready to drive it home:

I also loved this sign from inside the little used-car dealership:

along with cool photo from 1955 in Myrtle Beach!

All my full-time working years were spent at dealerships, so it was like walking down memory lane!  Thanks for popping in today!

FF205 Bright Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I have a bright, cheerful birthday card to share today!  Sometimes during SAB or the holidays, we forget the pretty things we have in the regular catalog!  So today I'm highlighting Positive Thoughts and Flowers for All Seasons DSP with the sketch from Fab Friday!  First, here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

My natural inclination for cards is to use colors that are more subtle or earthy, so to use Magenta Madness really stretches me!  But using it in a small amount, like on the butterflies, the banner, and in the background DSP, makes it a little easier for me!  The sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays was heat-embossed in white and cut with the Banner Punch:

And I used the Nature's Thoughts dies to diecut the butterflies; I also used the Little Treats dies to diecut a stitched circle from So Saffron and the Stitched Shapes dies to diecut one from Magenta Madness.  I like how they look layered together!  My final embellishments were some rhinestones and gingham ribbon!

Since I used several dies, I am also entering this in the Little Red Wagon challenge, which is to use dies!  This card is already in the mail, winging its way to a special friend from church!  Thanks for popping in today---be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

PP521 Peace Wreath

Happy Sunday, peeps, and time for our last Paper Players challenge of 2020!  Claire is our hostess and we are closing out the year with a bang!  Check out these colors:

Such an elegant combination!  For a last-minute Christmas card, this is what I came up with:

I used some of the Feels Like Frost DSP on the silver side (which is so hard to photograph), and a silver-embossed wreath, embellished with some silver and black pearls and a little gingham ribbon:

I added a diecut sentiment on a black stitched banner, and a lovely sentiment for the inside:

This uses the sketch from Fab Friday:

And here's true confession time; I actually made a different card for this challenge LAST WEEK because I looked at the wrong date on the calendar!  So here's my original card, using the FMS sketch, which obviously is over, but I thought I would share it anyway:

Same line of DSP, different pattern, different sentiment:

So I hope you'll be able to squeeze in some time to play along this week...I know it's getting down to the wire and time is tight, but if you do have some, we'd love to see what you come up with! Check out what the other team created at the Paper Players while you're there!  Thanks for popping in today -- enjoy it and be blessed!
