TSOT268

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch!  Here we go:
The option this week is textures!  I didn't use textures, but I did use some cheerful colors to make a birthday card for a special friend.  She is in my TOPS group, and many years ago, she was my secret sister at church!  I hope she likes my non-caloric treat!

I used Cherry on Top DSP along with two retiring sets, Six-Sided Sampler and All Boxed Up.  I barely had enough time to use All Boxed Up as it was new just this year, and it has such cute sentiments too!  I used Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush for my colors, and I added a little cherry from the retired set Itty Bitties, punched out with a small circle punch.  The hexagons were also punched out with the Hexagon punch:

For my inside, I used a sentiment from the recent SAB set, Perfect Pairings, and I added a few green cherries for fun!

The TSOT team has created some fun, interesting cards....you can check them out at the TSOT blog, and share yours as well, and you can always go to our Facebook page as well!

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 253

DSCF0857

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, and Jaydee is our hostess this week with a gorgeous color combo!  It’s so soft and pretty…what do you think?

I incorporated it with a new (to me) sketch challenge at TGIF challenges:

and my favorite set from this year’s catalog, Awesomely Artistic:

Even though it seems like there is a lot going on here, it was pretty simple to put together.  I stamped the images on my tag; I stamped and colored a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri and punched it out, adding some pearls for glam; heat embossed a sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler in silver and stamped some grunge on the Sahara Sand card base with Sahara Sand ink. I dyed some white seam binding with Smoky Slate ink and crumple-dried it in the microwave, then added a doily and some gathered Mint Macaron lace, and for the final touch, cut a couple of little banners from glassine paper and Smoky Slate cardstock, then some hearts from Brushed Silver and Shimmery white.

I would never have thought to put the neutrals of Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate together, but I love it!  I hope you love it too and will share what you create with us at the Paper Players blog!  Meanwhile, check out the other gorgeous creations from the PP team:
I promised a few more pix of Cassidy very intently drawing with her new goodies:

CCMC363 & SOS209 Baby Congrats

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Cottage Greetings Congrats Stampin Up-001

TGIF, peeps!  Popping in with a quick card today for my niece who just had a little girl earlier this week!  The birth caught me by surprise; for some reason I thought she was due next month, so imagine my shock when I saw the new baby on FB!  But my SIL assured me all was well….I just had the wrong date in mind, LOL!  This card may be a little different than most baby cards, as it uses black!  But this sweet little flower from Cottage Greetings reminds me of a Mary Engelbreit flower, and she uses black liberally in her artwork, so I used it too!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from Create with Connie & Mary for this week:

CCMC363

and the gingham from Six-Sided Sampler, punched out with a 1” punch!  I used ink colors in Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Blushing Bride, then stamped the flower on each one with Stazon Black, coloring them in with markers.  The sentiment is from the same set, and I embossed a wee little cross-stitch border with the retired Needlepoint Border EF!  Sweet & simple for little Emma!  And since I’ve used gingham  again, I am entering this one in Shopping Our Stash!

My college roommate sent Cassidy a little dry-erase tablet on which to practice her letters, which she LOVES.  More on that later, but here is a late-afternoon artistic moment!

Paper Players 227

DSCF7261

Hello everyone!  I am excited about today…not only do we have a wonderful color combination from Ann, but I will be spending the day with my lovely club ladies!  So fun!  But let’s get to the Paper Players challenge first!  Here’s the color challenge:

Oh my, these colors are SO pretty together!  The gallery is full of beautiful projects using new stamp sets, so I had to be different and use a set that hasn’t seen much ink lately, Six-Sided Sampler.  I DID add a little bit of new in there….the little flower from Simply Wonderful made a nice addition to my background:

I just stamped and punched my images, stamped the flowers, then added a few embellishments:  a flower and heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, and some In Color sequins and ribbon.  And then I got very brave and used my punch to punch out a couple portions of the card…..I was afraid I would ruin it, but I think it gives a little bit of interest.  Here’s the bottom (I also did the top corner):

A little unexpected surprise, right?!

So what will you create with these colors?  There are so many possibilities with these lovely soft shades!  Be sure to share you creation at the Paper Players, and be sure to check out the designers’ creations as well:

Cassidy was uncooperative this week as far as picture-taking, so instead,  I thought I would share some of the things I made during Christmas vacation!

A little owl, pattern found here (you can tell I have a big skein of this turquoise yarn, LOL!):

And some boring dishcloths and coaster, but John is actually excited about the dishcloth…it has some heft to it and he likes that!  The dishcloth pattern is here and the coaster pattern is here!

I am still a newbie when it comes to knitting, but Dana and I have both gotten the bug, so we are practicing a lot!  She is loom knitting, and has made some amazing things too!  Thanks for indulging me!

Twice Blessed For The Paper Players 217

DSCF5613

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for another Paper Players challenge, and Ann has a wonderful seasonal color palette for us featuring three of SU’s newest In Colors:

Aren’t they wonderfully fallish!?  I pulled out my favorite (sadly retired) fall set, French Foliage for my card today, and I CASEd a style I saw on Pinterest lately; you can see Lyssa’s card here.  Normally I try not to CASE something here when I do my challenge card, but it was so striking, I couldn’t wait to try it!  Here you go:

Lyssa stamped her flowers on a sheet of Typeset DSP but I had an old botanical book I picked up at a thrift shop, so I tore out a piece of that and began stamping my leaves on it.  Actually, I’ve used a bunch of sets on this card!!!  (I’ll list them all at the end)!  My diecut is from Papertrey, and I cut it from a piece of Mossy Meadow to which I adhered a piece of adhesive sheet; then when I pulled the diecut out, I just peeled off the adhesive and the whole thing was very easy to attach! Everything else except the twine is SU.  I used my Envelope Punch Board to create the tab for the top and I added some stitching around the sides, as well as a little diagonal embossing on the corner:

DSCF5611

Despite a few little issues going on in our household, this pretty well sums up how I am feeling these days….blessed!  And this also qualifies for the Shopping Our Stash challenge, which is fall colors, and the As You See It challenge, which is also fall!

Now, when I pulled out the sentiment, I was left with this negative piece; blessedly, I had centered it pretty well on a little strip that already had a little scallop popped out of it, so I went to work again, loosely using the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch for this week:

My sentiment is not in quite the right spot, but I just love how this turned out:

I used the gingham from Six-Sided Sampler to make the center of my flower, and a little retired die called Merry Details for my bird!  Isn’t he cute?!

I sure hope you have as much fun with these colors as I did…can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Be sure to check out all the samples from the DT as well:
A couple weeks ago I came into my craft room to find this little scene:  a piece of ribbon, a pin cushion and several pins!

Paper Players 215 CAS-Style

DSCF5369

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Wow, what a beautiful fall weekend we’ve had.  We’re all feeling a wee bit better; thanks so much for the well-wishes!

Sandy is our hostess today and I squealed with pleasure when I saw the sketch she made for us!  SO many ways to use this one….I’ll be saving it for future use for sure!  Here you go:

A lot of the design team chose fall and Halloween themes, which were awesome, but I chose the “playful” color challenge from Colour Me…! challenge this week:

And here’s my little card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 215 CAS Hello Six Sided Sampler Stampin Up

Easy-peasy CAS design, a couple of dies and a punch, made this card a snap to create!  I added a sweet little sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler, along with a trio of hearts from the Owl Builder punch, and it was done:

The design team’s creations are stellar, so be sure to check them all out:

And we are looking forward to seeing your card in the gallery too!  Who knows, you may be a Cut-Above or a Headliner this week!  Enjoy your day!

We went to an Apple Festival yesterday at a local park, and Cassidy was all about the playground, LOL!

Squeaking in IB117

DSCF3659

Hi peeps!  I am squeaking in another card today, since I wanted to play with Laurel’s Inspired By challenge….haven’t done one of hers for a long time.  Here’s the pretty inspiration photo:

I could think of several ways to use this inspiration.  In the end, I chose to use the plaid, polka-dot and floral hexagons from Six-Sided Sampler:

I used shades of Blush Blossom, Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding, and added a diecut sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners and a shabby white seam binding bow:

I also used the sketch from RetroSketches:

These colors remind me of summer!  Thanks for looking!

New Goodies!

DSCF2970

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Three cards today, all using some sort of new product from the upcoming catalog!  I went on a card-making blitz Tuesday morning to make some samples for my club girls, and this part of my stack!

The first one is a tall, skinny card using the new In Color Blackberry Bliss, new Moonlight DSP, new stamp set called Something to Say, and Six-Sided Sampler:

This one uses the new In Color Lost Lagoon (LOVE this) with Geometrical and Bootiful Occasions as well as the Cloudy Day embossing folder, still available on the Clearance Rack!  The boot was stamped with Memento ink, which will be available to use with the new Blendabilities, which I used on the boot as well….a learning curve with them, for sure, but fun to use!

Finally, a cute little card made with a portion of a card from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection.  I cut part of it off to use with my scrapbook page (YES, I am actually scrapbooking!) and thought it would be cute on a card.  It uses the little heart from Something to Say, punched out with the new little heart punch and embellished with the new thicker Baker’s Twine in Strawberry Slush.  Sentiment is from Yippee Skippee!

And speaking of strawberries, here’s one:
