RRC104 Tic Tac Toe!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Retro Rubber Challenge, and we have a tic-tac-toe for you:

No photo description available.

I must confess.....you know how it is when you have a project that you really don't care for, but you've  invested so much time in it, you just keep persevering?  Yeah...that's my project today!  I love the sketch, I love the embossing, I love the set...I just don't love it all together!  But anyway, here it is:

For my tic-tac-toe, I chose the diagonal of blue, birthday and texture embossing.  I had originally intended to use SU's embossing paste, but it had totally dried up in the jar....it was almost empty, but I think it should have stayed fresher a little longer!  But I did find some amazing metallic embossing paste I picked up at a yard sale somewhere, and I love the look of it:

So, the beginning of my dilemma was thinking that the embossing paste was COPPER....no, it was gold, as I discovered after I had already stamped, embossed and cut out my "yee haw" sentiment from the 2004  Yee Haw set in copper ink and copper embossing powder on some faded denim paper:

Yeah, it doesn't quite match the gold embossing!  Boo hoo.  But I already spent a lot of time on it, so I kept going, embossing a Paper Pumpkin sentiment on the dark blue denim paper:

So all in all, it doesn't look too bad, and I am sure the guy who receives it will have no clue that the metallics don't match, LOL!  Be sure to check out what the DT created...a wee bit better than mine, and I am sure your creation will be fabulous!!  Just make sure you use stamps at least a year old and tell us how old they are!  Can't wait to see what you create...share it with us at the Retro Rubber blog!!

We had a snow day yesterday, and I think it was the most perfect day for sledding ever!  It wasn't real cold, the snow fell lightly all day and it was awesome for sledding!

Don't worry, I didn't let them go out into the road, but we did land in the creek (and up the tree and into the bench) a few times, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 289 Stampede

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge and Laurie, our very own die cut maven, has an awesome challenge for us today:

Woohoo and yeehaw!  I had a blast making this card!  I have been hoarding this Cosmo Cricket Wanted DSP for a long time (I think I should write the purchase date on the back of my 6x6 pads so I know just how long I have been hoarding them, LOL!), and used it with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

 So here we go:

My image is one I won from 100 Proof Press, and I don't think it's ever seen ink!  It saw Chocolate Chip ink on this card, and it was complemented with a diecut horseshoe cut from some old Bronze cardstock and a hank of "lariat":

The whole panel was mounted on a Mint Macaron card base which was sponged with Chocolate Chip ink.  The inside was stamped with some sentiments from Endless Birthday Wishes and YeeHaw:

What a fun challenge!  I hope you'll play along with your Western-themed creation!  Check out what the others did right here:

LOL....enjoy your day!

CYCI51

DSCF7198

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I have a birthday card to share today; my nephew’s is coming up, so this is for him!  I had the main element already stamped and unused from another project, so I repurposed it for the sketch from Can You Case It:
CYCI #51
Sometimes I am just overwhelmed by the amount of DSP I have….so I am trying hard to use some of it up!  This is from Park Lane; I stamped the birthday sentiment from the SAB set Big Day diagonally across the paper for some interest:

The main sentiment from YeeHaw is stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock in Chocolate Chip and Mossy Meadow; I added the smaller words from Endless Birthday Wishes.   I also stamped the hat on Crumb Cake and experimented with my Blendabilities…..it bled a little, creating a soft effect.  I added a little crosshatch with a Crumb Cake marker for the hatband.  I think it would have been better stamped in Chocolate Chip, but I was too lazy to do another, LOL!

I hope he likes it!  Thanks for visiting today!

Paper Players 214

DSCF5171

Hi everyone!  It’s Sunday, and that means time for another Paper Players challenge!  Jaydee is our hostess today with a clean and simple challenge!

Lucky for me, I already had a card in mind for this challenge….this is the card my club girls made this month, using the stars mask and the new photopolymer set, Yee-Haw:

I used Pacific Point for my card base, and sponged Pacific Point ink through the mask; the lasso was stamped in Real Red, and the hat was stamped on a piece of Maritime DSP.  We did some more fun stamping on the inside:

The “have a” sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes worked perfectly with these sentiments…..and there you have it, a CAS masculine birthday card!

I hope you’ll play along with us this week….you KNOW you always need masculine cards, right?  And be sure to check out what the other designers made for this challenge as well:

Cassidy starts preschool tomorrow!  Here she is at her orientation, happily having a snack!

Wow, how can it be Friday already?  This is a quick post today, as Cassidy has to go for a follow-up x-ray this morning!  My card today is courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches 153, created by Jen Brum:

I am trying to keep up with some samples for my club girls, and I had not used much of my Flashback DSP, so I paired it with Yee-Haw for a cute baby card:

I stamped my Howdy in Pool Party, then made a mask with scrap paper, put it over top of the stamped image, then stamped the lasso in Smoky Slate:

I love the kind of rustic look this DSP has…it works so well with these images!  Thanks for visiting today!

We started attending a new Bible study today and Cassidy had a lot of fun with the other kids…..she barely ate any lunch and promptly crashed:

ColourQ

DSCF4854
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Another ColourQ day….check this out:

This reminds me of the embroidery floss bracelets my daughter used to make when she was a kid….shoot, she was making one the other day when I stopped by her house!!  Aren’t those colors fun?  I used last week’s Retro Sketches sketch (I know it’s expired, but I liked it!) and I already had Yee-Haw sitting on my desk, so I inked it up again:

I saw a cool way to make rickrack using the Envelope Punch Board; you can see it here.  I stamped mine with the letters from Kinda Eclectic, and I used the sunburst from that set too.  The banner was stamped with Chalk Lines, and although you can’t tell, the blue star is glittered up!

And I just love the inside!  The set Endless Birthday Wishes is so helpful in creating custom sentiments!

Hope you’ll play along with us!  Check out all the samples at the ColourQ blog!

I wanted to share with you Cassidy’s birthday dress; here she is a church:

and here, her “official’ pose, LOL:

The flamingo had a gold lame beak and gold sequins, and the skirt had pompoms along the bottom!   A sweet creation in Calypso Coral!  Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 210

DSCF4755

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today with a cool sketch!  Here ya go:

I saw this set revealed at convention and could not wait to get it!  It’s a photopolymer set called Yee-Haw!  It has tons of fun images and sentiments!  I searched the current DP for something that looked “country” (not a lot there) but I did find this pattern from Confetti Celebration, so I went to work!  I did take a little liberty with the shape of the element, and my card is note card –size.  I just stamped the various images and snipped them out and popped them up:

I did a little shading on the hat and cactus:

and since this is a thank-you card, I added this sentiment on the inside:

I used Baked Brown Sugar, Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Pear Pizzazz!

Now, what will you make with this fun sketch?  The design team has done a fabulous job, they’re all so unique!!!  Check them out:
Good thing I am not superstitious!  Cassidy thought my umbrella made a great boat for her baby doll!
