AYSI310 Nuthatch on Vellum

Happy Wednesday, peeps! My card today is for the As You See It challenge of using vellum!  One of my favorite ways to use vellum, and I haven't done it for a while, is to stamp on the front and color on the back! I pulled out a little Flora and Fauna set and stamped this little nuthatch and some twigs on a piece of vellum using Stazon ink:

I apologize for the poor quality of my photo...I am using my phone, as John is using my camera card to capture some photos in his trail camera!  So bear with me for another day or so!  After stamping the images, I turned the vellum over and colored them in on the back using Blends and markers; here's a better view:

I stamped some little berry images in Soft Seafoam ink on a piece of Basic White and cut both of them out with a Stylish Shapes dies.  I love the softness that coloring the images on the back imparts!  I used glue dots in stratgic places to adhere the layers together.  I added Real Red and White mats, a little banner with some twine and mounted it all on a Pistachio Pudding panel embossed with a holly EF.  Here's the inside, using a sentiment from Christmas to Remember:

If you've never tried this technique, you should give it a try!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP617 Winter Greetings

Hi stamping friends!  Happy Sunday! It's time for a new Paper Players challenge and the creative Jaydee is our hostess with a fun color challenge:

I had a stamp image in mind when I began this challenge, and I wasn't thinking shaker, but somehow it morphed into one!  Here we go:

This little snowman from Close to My Heart seemed to be perfect to sit inside a snow globe, but I had no snow globe stamps, so I did some creative diecutting after stamping him in Pacific Point ink and adding a wee bit of blending:

I added a window sheet, used some Foam Adhesive Strips to create the shaker, then added some Pretty Pink Posh snowflakes inside.  For the base of the snow globe, I used the Stylish Shapes die to cut some Silver foil, adding a sentiment from Christmas to Remember:

I stamped and colored the sentiment from the same CTMH set on the front:

And added a sentiment from Snowman Magic on the inside:

I hope you'll play with our pretty color palette this week....it doesn't have to be a Christmas card, either!  I can't wait to see what your creative minds come up with!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP350 Double Take

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Hope your week is going well! I just love the sketch at Global Design Project this week, and I have been playing with the new Boughs of Holly DSP and had some fun making a couple of cards!  Here's the sketch:

And here are my creations:

The first one uses the plain red side of one of the poinsettia papers; I cut it with a Stitched Rectangle die, then embossed it with one of the Wintry embossing folders.  I then diecut one of the other poinsettias from the DSP pack with a Stylish Shapes dies, and added a head-embossed sentiment from Christmas to Remember:

The second one is similar; I used a smaller rectangle die, didn't emboss the front but diecut it with one of the dies from Labels Aglow and backed it with a square of So Saffron.  I added a diecut circle from the SAB DSP Rings of Love...these sort of look like poinsettias, don't they?  I added another sentiment from Christmas to Remember, then matted everything on an Evening Evergreen mat:

I used this sentiment from Brightest Glow for both cards' inside:

Some more for my stash!  Thanks so much for visiting today!

A few more little critters on Dana's patio and in the pool....this one was underneath the lazy susan on their umbrella table! I cannot figure out how it got there!

And just taking a little swim in the pool!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JUGS636 Furry and Bright

Happy Monday, peeps!  I got some new goodies this past week from the upcoming holiday mini catalog and I couldn't wait to play with one of them...Christmas Scottie!  SO CUTE!  I paired it with the Give It a Whirl dies, because I hadn't played with that one yet and thought it would be fun to combine them.  So here we go:

There are no directions that come with the die, so I went on YouTube and found several good videos that helped explain it! It's not hard at all and the set comes with tons of other fun dies as well.  I stamped the scottie in Basic Black and punched him out, then mounted him on a plaid panel of Soft Succulent.  I stamped the ribbons on the Real Red mat in Versamark and added a couple of Real Red glimmer stars with dies also included in the set.  I used three of the sentiments to show through the window:

I added the last sentiment on the inside as well as one from Christmas to Remember:

And since the JUGS challenge is to add a moving element to your card, I am entering there as well!

A trip to Sakehana means practicing her chopstick technique!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Green & White Christmas

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Gray and cloudy today here in PA, a good day to stay inside and stamp!  I have a quick little card for a few challenges:  Christmas Card Throwdown wants green and white; CAS Christmas wants a wreath, and it's Christmas week at Krafty Chicks

I pulled out some green and white glimmer paper and went to work:

My green glimmer wreath is a diecut from Avery Elle; the white stars are from SU's Cracker & Treat Box Dies and the bow is from SU's Pierced Blooms.  The sentiment is a no-name one I got from a friend, stamped with Tranquil Tide ink:

I had a few extra stars, so I added them to the inside along with a sentiment from Christmas to Remember:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP591 Christmas Home

Hi peeps! Hope you're having a good weekend!  Laurie is our hostess today at the Paper Players and it's CLEAN and SIMPLE week!  Remember to keep your projects clean and simple with relatively few elements and layers!  Here's her prompt:

I remembered I had some Papertrey dies from waaaaaay back when, and there was a cute little house in the set, so I pulled that out and here we go:

My color palette is from the Jingle Belles for this week:

Yum....don't they look delish?!  I found some pink snowflake paper in my stash and diecut a circle from it, then added a Smoky Slate scalloped mat and stamped a sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit:

I also stamped a little pink sprig and fussy-cut it out, embellishing it with a rhinestone. To get the sparkly pink heart, I daubered a big of Flirty Flamingo onto a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.   Here's the inside as well:

There are lots of fun samples in the Paper Players gallery, created by our talented designers!  Be sure to check them out, then share your clean and simple house project with us too!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Dana and I had lots of fun picking out plants yesterday!  Her yard has lots of shade and mine has lots of sun, so we have to get different varieties!  She is willing to try new and unusual plants....I just stick to the same geraniums and impatiens that I like, LOL!  Here's a bit of her planting/potting ventures:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

MTCC41 Tis The Season

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend! Brrr, it was a chilly, wet one!  While I was playing with my Soft Succulent papers and ink last week, I came across a scrap piece of Painted Christmas DSP that had the same hues, so I went to work, using some new stamps I had gotten a while ago and never got inky!  Here we go:

I began with the sketch from Make The Cards challenge:

After adding a white mat to the DSP, I scalloped the bottom front of the card, then added the circular element and the ice skate image, which I filled with greenery and candy canes.  The stamps and dies are from Avery Elle.  The sentiment is from Christmas to Remember.  I added a strip of Real Red to the bottom inside so the scallop would stand out a bit better:

I found this sentiment in a set my friend gave me after she de-stashed her stamp collection, and it fit perfectly in an Ornate Frame die!  Love it!

I am also entering this at the Krafty Chicks, because it's Christmas week!  Thanks for popping in today!
Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP567 Sending Cheer

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's time for a new Paper Players challenge with Joanne as our hostess!  She's got a stunning, but challenging (at least to me!) color palette for us this week:

These are so pretty together, but I admit I struggled a bit...I think the black threw me off!  Anyway, here we go:

I started with a Smoky Slate card base and some retired Feels Like Frost foil DSP....hopefully you can imagine the shine!  Here's a different view:

A fun diecut sentiment in Basic White and Silver Glimmer paper added to the sparkle, and I added a silver snowflake and some black gingham ribbon:

and a little snowman punched from a very old SU punch (anyone else remember this punch?):

The photos really don't do it justice but it's pretty sparkly IRL!  I used the FMS sketch for this week as well, although my big sentiment might disqualify me, LOL!:

I just realized there's no stamping on the front of my card, but I did stamp a sentiment on the inside!!!  I hope you'll hop on over to the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers came up with!  Then put on your creative thinking cap and play along with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI263 A Recipe for Neutrals

Happy Friday, peeps!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's "recipe" week!  Here are your ingredients:

I confess that mixing neutrals is a bit of a challenge for me, but I went full force today; I've used Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Kraft AND Sahara Sand on my Christmas card:

The Kraft snowflake is comprised of three layers; I made little cardstock spacers to fit between each one to pop it up a bit without having the white dimensionals show through!  I adhered it to a Very Vanilla mat which was embossed with the Cable Knit embossing folder, then added a Basic White stitched mat to that!  The sentiment is a partially-stamped one from Christmas to Remember, tied with some Linen Thread and embellished with a Gold Metallic Pearl:

I happened to have three strips of the Tidings of Christmas already cut, so they went on the Crumb Cake card to tie it all together!  Again, my last year's favorite sentiment set was used for the inside: Wrapped in Christmas:

And since I've got brown, texture and ivory on my card, I'm going to pop it in over at Festive Friday!

I am pretty sure I got all my ingredients to whip up this fun holiday creation...now it's your turn to cook something up!  Make sure you share it with us at As You See It!  Thanks so much for visiting today!

Cassidy finally finished her London Lego kit that she got for her birthday!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
