Paper Players 263

DSCF1924-001

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge with this week’s clean and simple challenge hosted by Laurie!  She is the QUEEN of CAS, I must say!  Here’s your theme:

I have to admit, “scenes” are not my forte, especially CAS scenes!  There are several really cute scenery-themed stamp sets in the SU catalogs this year, so in anticipation of that, I chose a really, really old set for my card today!  Remember A Tree for All Seasons?”

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 263 Tree for All Seasons

My club girls were talking about this set last week and I remembered I still had it!  It was one of the first hostess sets I ever earned!  I stamped the fall scene on some Very Vanilla and colored it in with a sponge dauber and some markers, then die cut it out:

DSCF1925

I used a Project Life stamp set from last year called Holiday Cheer for the gratitude sentiment, along with the leaves that I stamped on the front and inside:

DSCF1927

The Thanksgiving sentiment is from last year’s Paper Pumpkin kit and the swirlies on the front are from an Impression Obsession autumn set called Autumn Squares (I think!).  I added some striped ribbon that is currently in the catalog and some random sequins from my stash.  It all is sitting atop an Early Espresso card base, which has rounded corners made with the PL corner rounder.  And the layout is from CAS(e) This Sketch 141, although they’ll probably kick me out, because it’s not really that CAS!!!:

It was really fun creating this little scene with an oldie but goodie stamp set!  I hope you’ll play along with the Players as well!  You can check out all the samples at each of the designers’ blogs, or on the PP blog:

Earlier last week at dusk so the bees wouldn’t bother us so much, we picked apples from our apple trees, which are loaded with apples .  Cassidy had her boots on and was helping Grampy:

FMS160 x Two

DSCF6024

I have two very clean, simple and quick cards today, both using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch from this week:

I had this leaf image from Lovely as a Tree stamped, colored and sitting on my desk, discarded from another project, so I put it to use on this fall-themed card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Lovely as a Tree Gratitude Stampin Up

I used some scraps of DSP for the background; the sentiment is from Project Life Holiday Cheer, and the circle was stamped with the striped banner from Amazing Birthday, once going in one direction, and then stamped again going in the other direction, to make a gingham look.  I then punched it out with a 1” circle punch.

My next card is more whimsical; I used an Avery Elle stamp set called Thankful, and I am thankful, because I won it from my sweet friend Lisa

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Acorn Thankful 2

My card base is Pumpkin Pie; I stamped the acorn in Early Espresso (although it looks green here!) on a piece of gingham paper from Simple Stories’ Harvest Lane DSP and fussy-cut it out.  The other papers are from the same line.  I turned the sketch on its side so that the little bird would be facing the right way!!  The sentiment is from Good Greetings.  Thanks for visiting!

I tried hard to get a good photo of Cassidy’s cute outfit, but she was like the Energizer bunny yesterday….you’ll have to take my word for how cute this little skirt was!!

CCCMC326 and PPA225

DSCF5926

Happy Friday, peeps!  A quick card today, as I will be traveling tonight to meet my good friend and fellow Paper Player Sandy!  Woohoo!  Can’t wait!  Meanwhile, I crafted a quick card using the Create with Connie & Mary colors:

and the Pals Paper Arts sketch

to made another Christmas card for my collection!  Here we go:

I used some Flowerpot and Backgrounds DSP, then heat-embossed an image from Festival of Trees in silver embossing powder using Silver encore ink, then punching it out:

The sentiment was created the same way, using the Project Life Holiday Cheer set.  I topped off my tree with a little blue bird:

I really like these colors together!  Thanks for visiting!  I’ll see you Sunday with a new Paper Players challenge!  Have a great weekend!

Twice Blessed For The Paper Players 217

DSCF5613

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for another Paper Players challenge, and Ann has a wonderful seasonal color palette for us featuring three of SU’s newest In Colors:

Aren’t they wonderfully fallish!?  I pulled out my favorite (sadly retired) fall set, French Foliage for my card today, and I CASEd a style I saw on Pinterest lately; you can see Lyssa’s card here.  Normally I try not to CASE something here when I do my challenge card, but it was so striking, I couldn’t wait to try it!  Here you go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 217 Blessed Grateful Stampin Up Gratitude

Lyssa stamped her flowers on a sheet of Typeset DSP but I had an old botanical book I picked up at a thrift shop, so I tore out a piece of that and began stamping my leaves on it.  Actually, I’ve used a bunch of sets on this card!!!  (I’ll list them all at the end)!  My diecut is from Papertrey, and I cut it from a piece of Mossy Meadow to which I adhered a piece of adhesive sheet; then when I pulled the diecut out, I just peeled off the adhesive and the whole thing was very easy to attach! Everything else except the twine is SU.  I used my Envelope Punch Board to create the tab for the top and I added some stitching around the sides, as well as a little diagonal embossing on the corner:

DSCF5611

Despite a few little issues going on in our household, this pretty well sums up how I am feeling these days….blessed!  And this also qualifies for the Shopping Our Stash challenge, which is fall colors, and the As You See It challenge, which is also fall!

Now, when I pulled out the sentiment, I was left with this negative piece; blessedly, I had centered it pretty well on a little strip that already had a little scallop popped out of it, so I went to work again, loosely using the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch for this week:

My sentiment is not in quite the right spot, but I just love how this turned out:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 217 Take 2 Blessed CAS Stampin Up Paper Trey

I used the gingham from Six-Sided Sampler to make the center of my flower, and a little retired die called Merry Details for my bird!  Isn’t he cute?!

DSCF5608

I sure hope you have as much fun with these colors as I did…can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Be sure to check out all the samples from the DT as well:
A couple weeks ago I came into my craft room to find this little scene:  a piece of ribbon, a pin cushion and several pins!

Cassidy told me she was making a dress for Cinderella…if you remember the Disney movie, the mice decorate a dress for Cinderella with pins, ribbons and bows!    Hmmmm….maybe sewing lessons are next?  Enjoy your day!

Harvest Home TSOT187 & MIM191

DSCF5467

Hi everyone!  Yay, we’ve made it to Wednesday, and it’s the first of October!  That means I can put up my Halloween decorations!  I know everyone else has probably already put theirs up, but my “rule” is that I don’t start until my calendar page has turned to October!

And speaking of October, Try Stampin’ on Tuesday has a nice sketch this week, and the theme is Harvest Time.  I hadn’t done any watercoloring for a while, so I pulled out a retired set called Harvest Home, my Stazon ink and some watercolor paper and went to work!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Harvest Home Stampin Up

The Kraft Journal’s Make it Monday challenge was buttons and bows….I immediately wanted to go in the shabby seam binding/sewing direction, but I thought some twine bows would look good with this rustic image, so I added some faux buttons for better mailing capability!!!:

DSCF5465

I added a black mat and some retired fall DSP, then finished it with the “gratitude” sentiment from Project Life’s Holiday Cheer.   Stamping it on the a scrap of watercolor paper didn’t give me the solid look I was trying to achieve, so I stamped it on a scrap of Very Vanilla….worked great!  Thanks for visiting today!

A busy day of playing proved to be just a wee bit too much for one little girl:

After insisting she did NOT want to take a nap, she decided to watch Cinderella….and that was all she wrote, LOL!

Enjoy your day!

fms155 & 52cct

DSCF5363

Hi everyone!  I have another Christmas card to share today; usually I post my cards on Monday, but the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown had a Nordic challenge, so I combined it with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch 155 by my sweet friend Karren:

Since the Trim the Tree DSP stack has some wonderful Nordic designs, I knew just which papers to use:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Nordic Christmas Great Greetings Stampin Up

I added a white embossed panel and a little tag I punched with the Scallop Tag Topper punch.  I created a plaid background with the Project Life Holiday Cheer stamp in Sahara Sand and Craft White….since it’s polymer, it was a snap to line up!

DSCF5364

I used the retired Stitched Stocking stamp and punch for my stocking, and added some of that yummy Cherry Cobbler linen ribbon from the Holiday mini, tied with a piece of baker’s twine.  I had a lot of fun making this card!

A couple more fair pictures; this is our favorite activity of all!  One of the vendors that sells chicks, ducks and feeds, has been doing this for many, many years; this was one of Dana’s favorites when she was little too!  I didn’t get good pictures of the activity itself, but basically, the ducklings walk up an incline and try to eat the food at the top.  The food tray is placed just a little out of their way, which causes them to slide down the slide and quickly waddle around to go up the incline again!  The kids were laughing hysterically, which made me laugh too:

AYSI050

DSCF4858

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I managed to pick up a yucky sinus infection and haven’t felt much like stamping!  But I did see a fun sketch from As You See It this week:

AYSIChallenge050

I had some stampers over last night and I always like to have samples to show them, so I made up this uber-quick Christmas card using the Project Life Holiday Cheer set:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Christmas Notecard Project Life

The stamps are fairly small, so I made this notecard-size.  I added a quick little dazzle with a sparkly gel pen on each of the images, then mounted them on a strip of Cherry Cobbler and stamped the little Nordic image on each side of the strip:

I added the final sentiment in Garden Green and it was done!  Easy peasy!  Now be sure to stop back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge!

ColourQ252 and Thanks!

DSCF4291

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!  Do you see a Christmas image?  Do you think it’s Monday?  Are you all mixed up?  I am!  Yesterday, for the Merry Monday challenge, I posted my regular Christmas card.  But when I went to check out the other designers’ posts, I had a BIG surprise!  You can see for yourself HERE.  I hit a big birthday yesterday, and Lesley organized a birthday blog hop for me!  She is such a sweetie, as are all the girls on the MM team….thank you EVERYONE so much!  If I haven’t gotten around to commenting on your beautiful cards, I will!!!

Anyway, on to the ColourQ….and look at these fun little ornaments Arielle picked out!!!  Of course, I had to do another Christmas card, although some of the designers did NOT….you’ll have to go look and see what they did with these colors:

So here is my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ252 Vintage Santa Christmas

I used a bunch of different stamps on this (if you want to know which ones, just email me….I am too tired to list them right now, LOL!)…along with some rickrack, embossing and sequins!  A little whimsy for a vintage card!

DSCF4292

And I used the sketch from Match the Sketch 30:

And while I was at it, I had a quarter sheet of Real Red cardstock on my desk, so I folded it in half to make a little skinny card, and stamped some of the images from the new Project Life Holiday Cheer set.  I punched them out with the 1” square punch and mounted them on Early Espresso squares punched with the Postage Stamp punch:

I added a little embossing, a little twine and a little glitter!

DSCF4296

Another card for my stash!  I hope you’ll play along with our Christmas in July colors this week!!!  Can’t wait to see what you do!

So Saturday we had a little garage-warming/birthday bash at our house!  John finished his garage and we had decided to have a party to thank the people who helped him out.  We decided to combine it with my birthday!  My sister flew in from SC for a day to help out…she is such a sweetie!  And she makes me laugh!

And just in case you are interested in garages, here is the final product:

DSCF9369

It is much bigger than it looks in this picture!  The men (and some of the women) were quite impressed!  And I am pretty impressed too, because John did most of it himself!  And it makes a pretty cool place in which to have a party!
