SSC350 Sympathy

Happy Thursday, peeps! Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week.  They're never easy, but even more challenging around the holidays.  I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

along with some warm plaid papers I recently got from Unity.  Here we go:

I stamped one of the trees from the long-retired Happy Scenes set, along with a sentiment from Special Moments, both on Crumb Cake cardstock, and diecut them with circle dies:

I added a single leaf from an older Paper Pumpkin set, and since there's a wee bit of red in the plaids that I used, I colored in the bird with a blender pen and some Real Red ink.  The inside verse is from Stamp Simply:

Thanks for visiting today!

I had my visitor again yesterday:

You can really see his moustache here!  He's so BIG!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Celebrate The Season

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I've been missing my stamp room today...it took me two days to get this card done, LOL!  But between laundry, picking stuff from the garden and work, I finally finished it!  So here we go:

This is for a couple of challenges; the Inspire.Create sketch, and the Retro Rubber Fall Scenes challenge:

I used several older stamp sets for this card....I had to do a lot of searching to find the ages of them, LOL!  (I'll list the ages below in my "recipe"!)  I used some papers from Honey Bee Stamps for the background, placing them on a panel embossed with the Leaf Fall embossing folder.  I accented my little punkin with some Wild Wheat twine and they're hard to see, but there are silver sequins on the panel as well!

The sentiment and leaves from Beautiful Autumn (2020) was stamped on the inside:

I really enjoyed pulling out these older stamps and playing with them once again!  Thanks for visiting today!

So I just want to thank everyone who reached out to make sure I was okay during the last two weeks...my little community in Chester County was very close to where the escaped prisoner was hiding, although we were never in danger as he was never that close to us.  He was close to Longwood, where my brother works, and the area where he was captured was relatively close to John's sister's home, but thankfully it is all over now.  The Avondale State Police barracks to where he was transported was the nearest to us but he was in good hands there!  So happy that K9 did his job perfectly, and we are grateful to the countless police officers as well. It was brutally hot last week and the area in which the escapee was hiding was thick and dense. It's easy to be an armchair critic when we're sitting in our nice cool homes and they are out in the thick of it.  I am just glad it's over!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 267

DSCF2336

Hello all!  It’s Sunday and Nance is our sweet hostess today for the Paper Players, and she has a sweet clean and simple challenge for us:

Oh, I had so many ideas in my head, and in the end, probably didn’t end up with a card as clean and simple as I could have!  That’s unusual, because I really like the CAS style, but I like my final result, and this looks more complex than it really is!  I used last week’s As You See It sketch (it’s closed now, though) because I really loved it, and it fit the look I was trying to achieve:

I love this Darice embossing folder but I only use it a few times each fall!  I chose Mossy Meadow as my top layer, a color that I like but sometimes forget about!  I took a page from an old house plant book and layered it behind my Lawn Fawn stitched leaf, then added a sentiment from Happy Scenes on an Itty Bitty Banner diecut:

Some sponging, linen thread and a couple of sequins finished it off.  I did add a little line of Crumb Cake-stamped acorns down the left side, which is from an older autumn Impression Obsession set.  This was a sympathy card for a fellow cardmaker and I hope it brought her a wee bit of comfort.

What CAS leafy creation will you share with us this week?  Check out the other designers’ cards…not all of them are fall leaves, either! Here are their links:

Cassidy took her tall doll (from a friend in Australia) and dressed her in some of her own clothing…pants and hightops….. and a doll bathrobe!  Then she helped her “walk” down the hall!  And yes, there’s a half-naked baby laying on the bed too!

Later on, she changed her into her own jacket and then used the sleeves to tie her to the swing!  She has imagination!

Paper Players 265

DSCF2187

Hi peeps!  Time for another Paper Players challenge, with Joanne as our hostess!  Here’s a theme just in time for the upcoming spooky day:

I think the Happy Haunting DSP is the cutest ever, so I pulled some of my favorite patterns out along with my Circle Card thinlet and created this spooky creation:

I used Among the Branches and Happy Scenes for my images and sentiments on the front, using Cool Cucumber as my accent color.  I made a belly band with the CC Color Me Irresistible paper and added a little banner on top:

On the inside, I added a sentiment from A Little Something:

Fun!  I know you’ll come up with a Halloween creation, be it spooky, scary, funny or cute!  Share it with us at the Paper Players blog and be sure to check out the others’ creations as well:

Dana did this cool braid for Cassidy the other day!  And just as a funny note, we were walking around our neighbor’s little pond the other day, waiting for the bus, and the water was quite green from the recent rain.  Cassidy said, “It’s full of “owchie”…..(algae)!  We had quite a giggle over that!

Enjoy your day!

Try Stampin’ On Tuesday 238

DSCF2025

Hi everyone!  It’s Tuesday, and it’s time for another sketch from Try Stampin’ On Tuesday!  So here’s the sketch, and the theme, if you choose to use it, is “Hooray”!

I think perhaps I could say I used the theme “BOO-ray” on my card!  I used the Howl-o-ween Treat stamp set for my funky Halloween card today, giving Miss Pumpkin a Pear Pizzazz witch hat and some black glimmery accents!  What do you think:

The “boo” came from the Happy Scenes set, and I used a circle punch to punch it out, then backed it with a little piece of black glimmer paper as well.  The Boo To You framelits make it easy to cut out the hat as well as the little stars!

DSCF2024

And my background is the Happy Haunting DSP!  Fun!  Hope you’ll play along with us.  You can share your creation at the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday blog, or on our Facebook page as well!

Off to have some more fun at Dutch Wonderland!

MTS088 Halloween Trio

DSCF1784

Happy Labor Day, everyone!  I have a little work, a little stamping, and a little fun planned today!  How about you?  But first, I have a quick little card using a couple of SU sets….I just love how they all work together!  I used the Match the Sketch sketch for this week:

http://matchthesketch.blogspot.de/2015/09/mts-sketch-088.html

and the Howl-o-Ween Treat and Happy Scene stamp sets:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Howl-o-Ween Treat Trio Stampin Up

The sentiment and jack-o-lanterns are stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink and the spider is stamped in the new Basic Black ink, which stamps beautifully!  And having the Boo to You Framelits makes cutting these out a breeze!  I mounted them on a piece of Pretty Petals paper stack, stringing the spider on a little piece of baker’s twine.  I really wanted to use my Chalk pen, but found it had dried out!  Boooo!  Anyone have a fix for that?  I only used it a few times!

I just love the happy faces on these guys!  Enjoy your day!

Silly girl, enjoying her breakfast of flakes and frozen blueberries out on the patio!  Gotta enjoy these late summer days!

CYCI84

DSCF1737

Hi everyone!  Wednesday already—this week is flying by!  I finally got to play with the cute new set (available NOW in the holiday mini catalog!!) called Happy Scenes and the Hearth & Home framelits which complement it nicely!  I used the sketch from Can You Case It to make my autumnal card!

CYCI#84

So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Happy Scenes Autumn Hello

Pretty straightforward---I used some Farmer’s Market DSP; stamped my image in Early Espresso, then used sponges, markers and a blender pen to color it.  I cut out the window frame in Crumb Cake, then sponged it with Sahara Sand for a more rustic look.  The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts.  And what do you think of my “curtain”?

DSCF1738

It’s a piece of Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim!  This really went together very quickly….although I think I adhered my window on a little crooked, I hope it’s not too awfully noticeable!  Thanks for visiting today!

Another picture from the first day of school:

And here are a couple more birthday cards I received!  These are from my Paper Players teammates Nance:
