TSOT274 Butterfly Get Well

Hi peeps!  It's Tuesday, and that means another Try Stampin On Tuesday sketch!  I just love these sketches!  Check this one out:

Wow, there were so many possibilities for this one....where to begin?  I finally ended up using the open butterfly from the Butterflies thinlits and some retired DSP, all in shades of Hello Honey:

I added a few touches of gold:  gold foil accents on either side of the embossed panel; a gold sequin for the center of the butterfly; and gold antennae made with gold twine:

I stamped a sentiment from Technique Tuesday (So Grateful) in Hello Honey, and it was done!  I hope that you'll find some inspiration with this sketch, and play along with us.  We've got a Facebook page where you can share your creation, or over on the TSOT blog!  Either way, please play along!

TSOT Duet

Ah, Wednesday....the middle of the week, all downhill from here!  I have another duet of cards today ( hope you're not sick of them!), both using the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch for this week:

A couple of the designers did two cards, so I did too!  The optional theme is "Spring is Here"....well, spring sort of came for a few days here in PA, then went into hibernation!  We've had below freezing temps at night and let's just say, I am trying to get spring BACK!  These gorgeous Simple Stories' I Am floral papers have been calling my name:

I also used some Graphic 45 paper from their Botanical Tea line (solid pink diecut circle) and So Saffron to diecut the sun, which was a gift from my friend Martha, and I don't know the manufacturer.  I added some cheery baker's twine, and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday called Beauty of Spring, and it was stamped with Regal Rose and diecut with the Chalk Talk die:

Even though the weather doesn't feel spring-like, this card makes me think it well get here eventually!

The next card uses the same sketch, as well as the Merry Monday challenge to use a sentiment as your focal point, and the Stamp, Ink Paper color challenge:

SIP 42 Color Challenge 800

One of my favorite purchases from last year was Papertrey's O Holy Night....it's perfect for this challenge!  I stamped the verse in Night of Navy, added circles of Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay that had been stamped with silver stars (Holly Jolly Greetings) and finished it with some silver accents:

Can you believe it...the DSP is from the Halloween DSP line from last year...it's perfect too!  Thanks for popping by today!

I do not recommend having your pedicure done while you are hanging upside down!

She is such a silly girl!

Get Well Duet

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I needed some get-well cards, so I perused some challenges, checked out my DSP stash and went to work!  First one uses the Mojo Monday 442 sketch:

I know I was gifted this cool paper by someone but  I just can't remember who it was....but isn't it fun?  This particular card is for a young man, so I tried not to make it too girly, although I did use Watermelon Wonder for the circle...hope he doesn't think it's too pink!  The sentiment from Technique Tuesday was heat-embossed in white, and I used panels of Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Tangelo Twist and So Saffron and an assortment of stitched dies:

I finally used one of SU's epoxy stickers too, just for a fun effect!

The second one uses Inkspire Me's sketch:

http://www.inkspire-me.com/2016/03/inkspireme-challenge-243.html

I've been pushing this little scrap of polka-dotted paper around my desk for a while, so I thought it was time to use it when I saw the layout!  I stamped the bird from Nature Walk in Early Espresso and added a wee bit of shading in blue and tan with a blender pen:

I know I'm supposed to have a bow in the lower righthand corner, but I chose to put my sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts there and added the bow on the burlap trim above.  To do the burlap, I put a small piece of adhesive sheet on the back of SU's burlap ribbon and ran it through a scallop die.  The little lace is tied with linen thread.  It was all mounted on a Baja Breeze card that was stamped with the Hardwood background stamp in white craft ink.

So happy you could pop by today!

We had some incredible winds in the last few days, so we got out Cassidy's kite.  I was doing really well until......

Yep, there really are kite-eating trees!  Honestly, my kite-flying skills are SO BAD I never imagined I would even get it airborne!  So there it is....still in the tree!  It was a pretty one too, so sad!  And I have a huge field behind the house that would have been perfect...no trees.  I learned my lesson!

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 287 CAS Easter Wishes

Hi everyone!  It's Palm Sunday, the first day of spring, AND time for another Paper Players challenge!  Jaydee is our hostess today---AND it's her birthday, so be sure to hop by her blog and give her some cyber hugs & wishes!  She's got a lovely clean and simple challenge for us today!

I have been having a great time dusting off some older stamps and giving them some love!  This is a set from SU dated 1996!!  I got it at a yard sale and since I don't have catalogs that go back that far, I don't know what the name of it is!  But the little country images are so sweet, I thought they would be perfect for a springy Easter-y card!

I stamped each image in Basic Black, colored them with markers, punched them out and layered them on stitched circles in Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight.  I outlined each image with a little bit of Sahara Sand too, just to make them stand out a bit!  The sentiment is a combination of SU's Fabulous Phrases (wishes) and Technique Tuesday's Organized & Inspired (Easter).  I added some SU gingham ribbon and mounted the panel on an embossed card front.

I am also entering this in the RetroRubber (cuz this stamp set is definitely retro!) Easter challenge!

RRCB 34

I hope you'll play along with our clean and simple challenge this week!  Check out what the designers created as well:

Cassidy lined up a whole slew of her dolls "by age", starting with the one-year-old on the top left and ending with the ten-year-old on the bottom right...I know, there is no rhyme or reason to the size!  And since there are eleven dolls, the two-year-olds are twins!!!

Enjoy your day!

SPDSS45 and CAS Mix Up Get Well Sunflower

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Getting ready for some onion snow....I love snow, but not on the first day of spring, but I guess it's not that unusual!  So I'm channeling some "spring" in my simple get-well card today:

I used the Sugar Pea Designs sketch for this week:

along with some Summer Crush DSP by Maja Design and Follow Your Heart DSP by MME, and a Simon Says Stamp diecut called Radiant Sunflower, which I cut from watercolor paper and colored with Crushed Curry, Hello Honey, and Chocolate Chip inks:

I used some Twill ribbon for the "stem" and leaves, and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday, called So Grateful.  Enamel dots are from SU!  And since I did some stamping, did some watercoloring and used diecuts, I am entering this in my friends' new challenge, CAS Mix Up!  Bonnie & Loll are two amazingly talented ladies and I hope they like my little submissions!  Thanks for popping in today!

A little playground fun:

Enjoy your day and be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

TSOT251 Life is Good

Try Stampin' on Tuesday has a lovely CAS sketch this week:

I took the silhouette image literally, using a Technique Tuesday silhouette from a set called Life is Good, and stamped it on some Bo Bunny Pincushion gingham paper:

The sentiments are from the same set.  I know the Old Olive doesn't really match the green of the gingham, but it seems to complement it pretty well.  I added three little punched flowers in Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron and Strawberry Slush, complete with enamel dots:

I hope you will play with this week's sketch as well!  You can submit your creation on their blog, or on their Facebook page as well!  Have fun!

Some fun with new Christmas games!

Enjoy your day!

MM180 and SIP23

DSCF2971
Happy Thursday, peeps!  Just a quick little note card to share with you today, a Christmas note card using the Stamp, Ink Paper sketch challenge as well as the Merry Monday theme of reindeer!  Here’s the sketch:
SIP Sketch Challenge 23 800
And here’s my card:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Technique Tuesday Deer Christmas
I had gotten this cute set from Technique Tuesday a while back that features a thumbprint and various little critters to stamp over it!  Adorable!  I remembered there was a reindeer in the set, so I whipped this up in no time at all!  I mounted my tag on some retired SU paper from a couple years back, added some stitched ribbon and Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine, but he still looked a bit plain.  Of course…..he needed a red nose!  Some glimmer paper to the rescue!

Rudolph is stamped in Tip Top Taupe and Basic Black; the sentiment is from last year’s Paper Pumpkin Christmas set, stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  The embossed edge is from a Lawn Fawn die set.  Thanks for popping in!
One of our favorite activities to while away the minutes as we wait for the bus is to play Simon Says.  Here, Cassidy is trying to convince Grampy that he should “run around as fast as you can” because Simon Said so!  Grampy’s not too keen on running at any pace, LOL!

TSOT223 and CAS on Sunday 61

DSCF0611

Just a quick  card today….Cassidy started swimming lessons yesterday so my mornings this week and next are full!  Try Stampin’ On Tuesday has two-week challenges now, and last week’s challenge was “rain”!  I know it’s summer now, not spring, but I didn’t have a chance to use this sweet little Ali Edwards set too much during the spring, so I thought I’d put it to use, along with the raindrops from Sprinkles of Life from SU:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Beautiful Blooms

Pretty plain, huh?  Not even a sequin or two!  I did add some glaze to my raindrops, but other than that, it’s a totally one-layer card, so that fits the challenge at CAS on Sunday too!

The flowers are Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral with Wild Wasabi stems.  Sentiment is Lost Lagoon.  Thanks for stopping by today!

My DH has his own business cleaning carpets and upholstery; sometimes his customers bring their rugs to the shop and he cleans them there.  He asked Cassidy to help him roll up this one:

And once it was rolled up, it made a great place to sit!
