More Embossed Postage

Hey, peeps!  No challenges today, I just made a quick little card using some leftover pieces of the embossed postage panel I did earlier in the week (you can see my first card HERE).  I trimmed some of them down and made this:

I used SU's Perennial Postage die to diecut a panel from a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and embossed it with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder.  I then mounted the three embossed "stamps" on the panel, and added a Hero Arts sentiment.  I then popped up the whole panel inside the outer portion of the frame to give it added dimension.

Such pretty images!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC670 A Little Thank You

Hello everyone, and happy Monday! Another Atlantic Hearts sketch is live for us, here you go:

I needed a thank you card for a customer, so I pulled out some Cute as a Bug DSP, along with the Lovely Stripes embossing folder, and went to work:

I isolated these cute little lady bugs before adhering my vertical panel, which was mounted on a mat of Crushed Curry, then added a tag punched from some Toadstool Garden DSP and a sentiment from Terrific Toadstools:

Some orange gingham and some Poppy Parade enamel dots finished it off!  It all went on a Timid Tiger card base---haven't used that color for a while, so it was nice to use some bright colors!

We hope you'll play along with our fun sketch this week!  Good way to use up some of those scraps!  Can't wait to see what you share with us at the Atlantic Hearts blog!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB260 You're Too Wonderful

Happy Wednesday, peeps! The gals over at RetroRubber have a fun sketch this week:

I needed a thank you card for one of my knitting friends from church, so I pulled out Zany Zoo (2023) and Hand Knit (2010) to make her card:

I stamped, diecut and colored my knitting llama with some Blends, then mounted her on a "knitted" panel from Mintay, which is also the background panel.  A little ribbon trim created the diagonal element of the sketch, and three skeins of yarn were stamped, colored and fussy-cut for the other elements:

A sentiment from the same set was stamped on Pecan Pie cardstock and diecut with a Pink & Main banner die:

It was fun to color this fun little image; I hope she appreciates it as much as I appreciated her gift!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC640 Blue Florals

Happy Monday, all!  I hope you had a good weekend!  We had sun, rain and HOT temps, LOL!  We have a new Atlantic Hearts sketch this week and I enjoyed this one a lot:

Dana gave me some GORGEOUS papers for my birthday and I just had to use some of them on my card today:

I used two of the patterns from the same sheet and I was hoping to be able to NOT cover up that little bird on the floral one, LOL!  I barely got him in there!  The flowers were stamped in Misty Moonlight; the sentiments were done in Night of Navy and Craft White.  I embossed the background with the Exposed Brick EF and added some Honey Bee navy sequins:

I have a couple of thank you cards to send out and this will be one of them!  I hope you'll play along with our interesting sketch this week....can't wait to see what you create!  Wednesday we will reveal what all the DT members created, so be sure to check back at the Atlantic Hearts blog then!

Cassidy asked me to help her cut down one of Wayne's shirts he wasn't wearing any more so she could wear it; we got out the ironing board and sewing machine and we learned about seam allowances, how to thread a bobbin and how to thread the machine.

Here's the final product:

It's not perfect, but she learned a lot!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS590 You're A Good Egg

Happy Monday, peeps!  I will be busy today as I have stampers coming tonight, but I wanted to squeak in a card for the FMS sketch before it ended!  I am not sure if my friend Beth will have received this in the mail yet, if she hasn't, she'll get a sneak peek!  Before I explain, let me show you the sketch:

And here's my card; I pulled out some retired goodies for this one:

Remember Hey Chick?  I stamped that crazy chicken with some Stazon ink and watercolored her, then stuck her in a little "crate" made from He's the Man DSP.  Her "straw" is from the Basket Builder Framelits!  I stamped the word "thanks" on a Conversation Bubble diecut and added another one behind it for some contrast:

And here's the inside, using another Conversation Bubbles die:

So, what prompted my chicken-themed thank you?  Beth saw the post where Cassidy was learning to separate eggs, so she sent us both these adorable egg separators:

Isn't that the cutest thing?  The feet hang on to the edge of the bowl and you just crack the egg over the openings and the white slides right into the bowl!  Haven't used it yet, but I can't wait to try it!  Thanks again, Beth!  And thank you for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC506 Whimsical Thanks

Happy New Year to everyone!  I am having serious problems getting back into my routine, how about you?  Even with new goodies to play with, the stamping mojo is slow to start!  I decided to use the sketch from Atlantic Hearts to make a thank you card for one of my customers; it uses the new upcoming Conversation Bubbles along with some pretty little patterns from Awash With Beauty DSP.  Here's the sketch:

And here's the card:

All the paper elements are from the Awash With Beauty DSP; I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive, and after diecutting it, popped it up so I could tuck the little banners under it.  The set also comes with those little tulips and hearts; I stamped the tulips in Mossy Meadow and colored them with Blends, then tucked them atop the banners.  The little heart dies are so cute, don't you think?

This will be whisked into the mail ASAP!  Thanks for visiting today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  May there be grace among your chaos! (Borrowed from my Daily Bread devotional!)

Praise Team Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have two cards for you today, and they are both thank you cards to members of our church's praise team!  They have been faithful about sharing their music every Sunday morning for our church's live feed, and I felt compelled to tell them how much I appreciate it!  (Dana is also on the praise team....she got some homemade cupcakes instead of a card, LOL!)  I also have spent some time lately updating the database which lists (almost) all my stamp sets!  My long-time stamping friend/demo Shawn told me recently that she also lists all the sentiments that go with the stamps....quite handy if you're looking for something specific!  But also quite daunting as I have a LOT of stamps!  But anyway, I came across some stamps I totally forgot I had, so I had fun creating with some old friends!

My first card is for the team leader and guitarist; the Less is More challenge is "scribbles, drips or splats"...I just love that description!

I pulled out Fabulous Four, Epic Celebration and Gorgeous Grunge along with Garden Green and Mint Macaron inks to create his card:

This was pretty straightforward to create, the hardest part was cutting out the guitar, LOL!

The second one is for our organist/pianist.  She is quite an accomplished musician, and I wanted to create something a little more "organic"!!  I stamped a background music stamp in Sahara Sand, then overstamped some images from a long-ago set called Words of Wisdom.  The bird and verse are also from the same set:

I used the colors from the Sunday Stamps challenge:

I colored the bird with Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake inks, and the leaves are Granny Apple Green.

I distressed and sponged the edges of the white panel and mounted in on a Lost Lagoon card base and added some Lost Lagoon ribbon.  And just for fun, I added some Pineapple Punch DSP; it's not "vintage", but somehow, it seems to complement the yellow in the bird!  It felt good to use some of these older stamps!  I love my new ones, but I love the old ones too!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana got Cassidy a kit to create her own spin art machine!  How cool is that?  She followed the directions and only needed a wee bit of help from mom, and it worked!

Check out those directions---yikes!

It's all wired up, batteries in......

And we have art!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTD574 Thanks From the Heart

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I had a wee bit of stamping time today...it is dreary and gray, so I just stayed inside and relaxed!  I loved the colors at CTD, and I haven't played with them for a while so I thought I would give them a go!

The Be Mine dies haven't seen much action in my craft room lately, so I ran the multiple-hearts one through Whisper White, Poppy Parade and Early Espresso cardstocks, then adhered the white frame to a card base and adhered some hearts randomly in each little heart opening:

I realize in this photo, the hearts look black...but really, they're Early Espresso!  I embellished some of the white ones with pearls, then added a sentiment from Bloom and Grown, diecut with the Stitched So Sweetly die.  To add a little more interest, I diecut two Poppy Parade strips with another little Be Mine die and placed them vertically along the edges.

Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy got a cool Christmas gift:

STAMPS!  Wahoo!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB93 Farmhouse Thanks

Hi peeps, happy Thursday!  You know what that means...another Inspired By challenge!  Here's my take on today's photo inspiration:

And here's Laurel's pretty prompt!!  I love this...it's similar to what I have in my very own kitchen!

Image may contain: text

I started by using the Global Design Project sketch:

I stamped the Buffalo Check background stamp on some Naturals White cardstock, added a Basic Black mat that had been diecut with the little stitched scallop die from the Be Mine dies, and then cut a couple of leaves from Crumb Cake:

I sponged the top layer with some Craft White ink, and added some "sprigs" of Old Olive.  I used a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder for the background panel and burlap ribbon for the horizontal panel.  I experimented with a couple of diecut sentiments but I didn't really like any of them, so in the end, I went with a Concord and 9th diecut:

It all went on a Crumb Cake card base!  Such a pretty scene...there are lots of elements you could pull from this one, and I hope whatever you make, you share it with us at Inspired By!!  Thanks for popping in today!!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS400 Simple Pumpkins

Happy Labor Day, everyone....at least if you're in the US!  It's dreary this morning but hopefully it will clear out by this afternoon for picnic time!  If you're in the south, we are praying for all of you..my sister is near Charleston, so we're hoping there's minimal damage there!

I am squeaking in this FMS challenge card at the last minute! They are still promoting their 400th celebration and that is something to celebrate!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my really simple, no-stamping card:

This new DSP, Come to Gather, has some pretty prints in it, but I wasn't quite sure what to do with this pale pumpkin one.  The reverse side has a pretty plaid, so I diecut a stitched square from the pumpkin side, flipped it around and used the plaid side for the background, then re-inserted the diecut square into the opening.  I popped up a Soft Sky strip, and topped it with a Pretty Peacock diecut from the Well Written dies, then added some swirly things in Pear Pizzazz from the same die.  Simple and easy!  This is going to go to my sister, who very kindly watered my flowers for me while we were on vacation!

And speaking of flowers, here are a few shots from my garden:

My little rose topiary is thriving, and I am so thrilled!

At the beginning of spring, this butterfly bush was about 2 ft tall and it looked like a stick; now it's over 5 ft tall and at any given time, there are at least 3 or 4 butterflies hanging around, as well as bees, goldfinches and an occasional hummer!

And while I was deadheading my marigolds, I found this little (well, not so little) guy, giving me the stink eye as if to say, "Don't you take my little flower!"....so I left him alone!

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!
