Sketch Saturday You Are The Best

Hi everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  The week is almost halfway done, yippee!  I have a sweet little card today using the sketch from Sketch Saturday:

Fun---I haven't used a tag for a while!  I got out some Share What You Love DSP, my tag punch and went to work:

I cut two tags, one in Crumb Cake and one in the floral DSP; on the crumb cake one, I stamped a sentiment from A Big Thank You in Berry Burst and added some leaves around the outside edge.  I filled in the leaves with some Frost White shimmer paint and sponged the edges a bit with some white craft ink.  I added a little "thank you" and another leaf to the bottom of the tag:

All the lower edges of my DSP and card were punched with the corner rounder portion of the Envelope Punch Board to give it a nice finished edge!  This is going to a special someone...I have very generous friends!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Some Halloween peeps for my little peep!!

These are actually chocolate covered on the back!!  Meow!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP406 Corny Thanks

Hi peeps!  Sunday is here and that means another Paper Players challenge!  Sandy is our hostess and she has a clean-and-simple challenge, and it's a fun one:

I really don't have  that many fruits or vegetable stamps, although when I started to check, I found I had more than I thought...more DSP, really!  But anyway, I found this Perfectly Preserved set, which had a fun ear of corn, so I used the FMS sketch to make my CAS card:

Here's the sketch for reference, and I also used the Hand Stamped Sentiment color challenge:

There is a matching die with the set, so I stamped the corn in both colors, die-cut them and trimmed off the husk and glued them together, then popped them up on an oval that I embossed with the Basket Weave EF.  The Blueberry Bushel DSP was a good background for my sentiment.  Now, why would I make a thank-you card with corn on it, you ask?  Our neighbor just gave us two dozen ears of corn, and I wish I could say that I took a picture of it on my plate, but it is GONE!  And it was the most delicious corn ever!  So I had to send him this as a way of thanking him!  John said he has over 30 tomato plants as well....it's just him and his wife, so I think he gives a lot of his produce away to the local food pantry and senior centers as well!  What a nice guy!

I hope you'll have fun creating something CAS with fruit and/or vegetables!!!  Share it at the Paper Players blog...can't wait to see it!  While you're there, be sure to check out what the designers did and give them some love!

AYSI171 Rainbow Thanks

Hi peeps!  It's Friday, and time for another As You See It challenge...and this is one wild and crazy challenge for sure!  Check it out:

No automatic alt text available.

I asked Heather if we were just supposed to use one or two of these elements, but she said "Use them ALL!"  Yikes!  In the end, it wasn't as difficult as I imagined...she left a lot to our own interpretation!  I started with a card that was about 3" x 7" (for the "wide) and diecut the letters out with a Papertrey alphabet die:

I backed each letter with rainbow colors, then added confetti from Picture Perfect Birthday as well as some stars cut with the star die from Mini Treat Bag Thinlet.  On the inside, I added this sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet:

This will go out to a special friend!!  I hope you won't shy away from this challenge and step right up to it with your bright creation!  Share it with us at the AYSI blog!  Can't wait to see what you make!

Just a little early-morning sledding before school!

The surface of the snow was so slick, she ended up in the swamp!!  (It's hard to tell from the photo, but that's what it is down there! Luckily, it's pretty much frozen!)

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 358 Get Coloring

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's that time again....another Paper Players challenge, and Joanne is our hostess with an awesome challenge...I am surprised that we haven't had this one before, at least not that I can remember:

Coloring is very popular right now, and when I first began stamping, outline images were my favorite; in fact, the designs SU had were what drew me to them!  Today, I have more time but I am less inclined to color, unfortunately!  I do like watercoloring though, so for my clean and simple design today, I fussy-cut a feather from the Just Add Color Specialty DSP, and colored it with some inks and an aquapainter:

Believe it or not, I used three colors of blue:  Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Dapper Denim, but since this paper is not watercolor "friendly", they sort of all bled together and it is hard to see the various shades.

It's still pretty though!  And can you believe it...I added some Lemon Lime Twist for a pop of color!  I stamped the Burlap background stamp on the mat, using Versamark ink so that it would be more subtle.  The sentiment was from Flourishing Phrases; the stitched mat is from Lil'Inker!

The design team has some fun and pretty submissions!  Be sure to check them out and don't forget to share your creation as well!

Yesterday was Cassidy's big birthday party and it was also a celebration for the upcoming wedding as well, since they are having a family-only ceremony!  It was a beautiful day...I'll try to have some pix later!  Meanwhile, the DQ ice cream cake was a hit on Thursday!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Mojo 496 Rooster Thank You

A quick post today, I am off to a fashion show (in the rain!).  I used the new set Wood Words along with the Mojo Monday sketch:

I need several thank you cards, so here's the start!  I used some Serene Scenery DSP with the "sunrise" from Kinda Eclectic to create my card:

The Wood Crate dies that coordinate with this set are so convenient!

My colors are Delightful Dijon, So Saffron, Tip Top Taupe and Chocolate Chip!

Thanks for popping in today!

A hot and heavy game of Uno:

and since Cassidy hasn't quite mastered holding all the cards in her hand, fan-like, she perches on the very edge of her chair and lays them on the seat!  We're working on this, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

Thanks a Bunch

Hi everyone!  Happy Spring!  I have a very quick little card today....I didn't get much stamping done this weekend, but I did manage to make a thank you for a customer, using Basket Bunch!  There are so many possibilities with this set, but these little carrots just cracked me up! Pinterest is full of examples, I can't wait to play around with it some more!

I stamped the carrots in Basic Black ink and watercolored them with Cool Cucumber, Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie inks, diecut them, then mounted them on some Stitched Shapes ovals:

They make me smile!  Thanks for popping in today!

One more little snow picture...it's melting slowly, but while Grampy was shoveling out, Cassidy insisted on helping, and we didn't discourage her!

Mostly she just shoveled it under the shed, LOL!

Enjoy your day!

LIM317 Thanks

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I had an embarrassing experience at the grocery store last week; I brought expired coupons to the register and tried to use them....I honestly had my dates mixed up, but the check-out coach graciously put them through anyway!  Amazing!  I wanted to give her a little thank you note to tell her how much I appreciated it, since the fault was totally mine.  I had these W+9 florals already stamped and diecut in my bin, so I fished them out and went to work.  I used the sketch from Less is More:

as well as a cute little block stamp from Suite Sentiments:

I also used a Hero Arts "thank you", stamped it in white craft ink and heat embossed it on a banner of Basic Black:

When I gave it to her, along with a little treat bag of Hershey's kisses, she almost cried!  I had to scoot because I was ready to cry too!  I imagine she doesn't get anything but complaining from her customers!

Anyway, I don't have a picture of Cassidy today for you, but I did see this little lady (I was told the males have red in their moustaches, and this one doesn't) on my suet feeder right outside my kitchen window a couple days ago!  YIKES!  These pileated woodpeckers are elusive, so to have one fiercely hammering away at my suet was quite a sight!  My Paper Players teammate Jaydee always has them, and I am always  jealous, so I was very excited to see her.  The photos aren't very good because they were taken through a screen, but they were good enough for me!

Thanks for indulging my bird-nerdiness!  Have a blessed day!  And by the way, I FOUND my "n" from my Labeler Alphabet!!!  Yippee!!

PP329 Apple-y Thanks

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Joann is our hostess for the Paper Players today, and I have to tell you, this sketch really threw me for a loop!  BUT.....I persevered and managed to come up with something that I really love!

I recently got some cute BoBunny papers called Kiss the Cook...lots of cute patterns...and in the end, I decided on these country gingham and quilt patterns:

The smaller apples were punched from another piece of the BoBuny paper; I diecut some stitched squares and mounted them on top.  The large apple is from Papertrey; it was stamped in Riding Hood Red on Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut to be mounted on the larger square:

The sentiment from Jars of Love looked like a good fit! The only other thing I added was some baker's twine, as the patterns are pretty busy!  I need several thank you cards in the next few days, so I'm off to a good start!

I can't wait for you to check out what the other designers did with this sketch...and share yours with us as well!

Stamp Ink Paper 83 A True Friend

Hi peeps!  Tuesday and a new Stamp Ink Paper challenge---a great sketch!  I love a great sketch!

Image may contain: text

I am smitten with the Sealed with Love set, and I think it is suitable for cards other than Valentine's!
I needed a thank you card, so I paired it with Endless Thanks for a sweet little confection:

I used Festive Birthday for my DSP choices, and you can see how I incorporated a couple of the thank you sentiments on my little notecard:

I tied up my little envelope with some white twine and added a few embellishments and sequins!  And finally, my inside sentiment is from Friendly Wishes:

I love these happy colors!  Be sure to check out what the other SIP designers did and share your creations with us too!

And speaking of happy, Cassidy got some happy mail a few days ago....a couple sets of wee little wooden stamps and a Hello Kitty stamp as well from a sweet blog reader:

I am sure these will be put to good use sometime soon!  Have a blessed day!
