AHSC562 My Heart Is With You

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Wow, the last day of January, time flies!  My card today features the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch:

along with some papers from Close to My Heart that I've had for a while but haven't even opened!  So I remedied that today!  Here we go:

I love the vintage French feel of these prints...I layered one of the papers on a Crumb Cake base, and before layering it, I stamped a few images from the retired French Foliage and Butterfly Basics:

I added a couple of embossed hearts from the Adoring Hearts embossing folder, some Boho Blue twine, and a sentiment from another retired set called Small Sayings. It's hard to see, but there's a wee little strip of Champagne foil paper that gives the elements a little pizzazz!  On the inside, another retired sentiment from Holiday Best:

This was actually my second attempt at this card; the first one I was not as pleased with; it went on a Very Vanilla base, but I didn't really like the stamped elements as much.

I did like the sentiment; it was a sticker from the same set of papers:

Those twirly elements behind the sentiments are always problematic for me, I can never get them quite right! But I now have two more Valentines for my stash!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

We love because God first loved us.  I John 4:19

52CCTD A Little Stitched Star

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have a fun Christmas card for you today; I've not used the Patchwork die lately, so I decided to use it for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge, which is to use stitching!

Normally, I would get out my sewing machine and do some actual stitching on my card, but I was lazy, so after diecutting the two panels from some retired Lights Aglow DSPs, I assembled them back together on a Basic White panel, adhered them onto a Soft Succulent card base and added sentiment from Paper Smooches.  For the sewing part, I diecut two white felt stars and sewed them together with some embroidery floss and added a gold sequin to match the gold dots on the papers:

Since I told you I was lazy, I only put the stitched star on one card, LOL!  But I did add an Evening Evergreen scallop border to my sentiment on this one!!  Two more cards for my Christmas stash!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Peekaboo Birds

Happy Monday, stamping friends! I have a quick post today as it is Stamp Club day! Yay!  I was looking for ideas using the Adoring Hearts suite and after seeing lots of cards with the individual birds from the Flight and Airy papers, I thought I'd combine them both:

I diecut a piece of Basic White using two-thirds of the die and embossing folder, then snipped out some of the birds to put behind the heart openings.  My only dilemma is that all the left-facing birds are the same color!  But hopefully the recipient won't notice, or mind!  I stamped a sentiment from Best Family Ever in Boho Blue ink, added a Boho Blue ribbon and mounted it on a Boho Blue card base!  The last thing I did was use a teeny tiny wee little bit of BB ink and water to color the background around the birds; it was getting lost against the Basic White openings and it helped define them nicely!

I left the inside blank, but this will probably go to my friend who just had a pacemaker "installed"!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP674 You & Me

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, and Jaydee has chosen an interesting slimline sketch for us today:

I admit that slimline cards intimidate me a wee bit, isn't that silly?  So I put on my big girl panties and went to work! It did help that I used the Inspired By photo as a starting point:

AND the fact that I just got these dies gifted to me...that helped too! Here we go:

I diecut some stitched squares from Smoky Slate heart-printed DSP, then added the "you & me", diecut from Polished Pink, Poppy Parade, Smoky Slate and Basic White.  I added some Tim Holtz diecut alphabet Xs and Os.

The retired Great Greetings provided the sentiments, and those cute little red hearts are from the current mini catalog:

I had just re-inked my Poppy Parade ink pad.....so my inside sentiment was a little wonky!  I'll give this to John, he won't notice, LOL!

I hope you'll play along with us this week! The design team samples will knock your socks off!  Be sure to check them out at the Paper Players blog....then show us yours too!  Thanks for popping in today!

And speaking of hugs and kisses.....I snagged these from my niece's FB page. I think Jameson will be an awesome big brother:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASC&S529 Thanks For Being My Friend

Happy Thursday, peeps! Has anyone seen my mojo? It seems to have gone missing!  Maybe it's this DREARY wet weather, rain and fog, washing away all the pretty snow, that's affecting my creativity!  Anyway, I have one little card for you today using the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch--thank goodness for challenges to keep us going, right?  Here's the sketch:

And since I recently got the pretty new SAB papers called Flight & Airy, I just had to use them:

I fussy-cut one of the bird and dogwood images and popped up in the center of my card; the greenery I had trimmed off went on the inside at the bottom:

Both sentiments are from Timeless Arrangements, stamped in Boho Blue. (Edited to add:  the inside sentiment is from the new Hurray for Surprises! Sorry!) Such gorgeous images, don't you think?!  I can't wait to play with these papers some more, if my mojo ever returns, that is!  Thanks for popping in today!

So this is for Joanne, who wanted to see sledding photos!  (I think in this one I was trying to video myself and John was videoing me!) Anyway, it was fun!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC561 A Day Without Chocolate

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Are you warming up yet?  It definitely has been chilly here in SE PA!  I have a fun card today which uses an awesome sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

I needed a thank you card for some goodies that were given to me recently, and since the goodies involved CHOCOLATE, I dug out the retired Nothing's Better Than set, some Pecan Pie ink and DSPs and went to work:

I stamped my candies in Early Espresso and Pecan Pie inks and diecut them out, along with the chocolate sentiment in Early Espresso cardstock.  I added a Lost Lagoon scalloped mat on which to scatter my candies:

I added a couple more scallops and the sentiment on the inside, tucking the last little piece of chocolate down in the corner!

Yum! Now I want a piece of something, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Cupcake Wishes

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend! I have a really quick little birthday card today using an older SU stamp set that hasn't seen much love lately!  The TGIF challenge this week is Make A Wish:

I chose cupcakes instead of cake, though, LOL:

My cupcake lineup was stamped with Stazon ink, then colored quickly with markers.  The sentiment was heat-embossed in white on Balmy Blue, diecut, then mounted on a Wild Wasabi circle:

It all went on a piece of  confetti DSP, and I used the opposite side to embellish the inside, along with a sentiment from Throughout The Year:

Now, I've got to get this in the mail to get it to the recipient on time!

Dana sent me this picture of Eden....she looks like she really wants to go outside, but Dana said she does NOT like the snow!!!  So I guess she's just gazing at the pretty scenery!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP673 Winter Friend

Hey there, stamping friends!  It's Sunday and that means it's time for a new Paper Players challenge with Claire as our hostess!  She's got a very timely CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge for us this week, and I mean timely, because we just finally got some snow!  It's been over 700 days since we've had any!  So here we go:

Just a few days ago, I snagged this adorable Colorado Craft set; I've been wanting it for a while and it was on sale, so it was serendipity!  Here we go:

I stamped my image on a single piece of Thick Basic White cardstock so I could do some watercoloring; I used Versafine Black for my ink and Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie inks to color my little friends:

I found a wee little snowflake stamp in some of my Paper Pumpkin stamps and lightly stamped it around them....in hindsight, I could have added some glitter...I may do that yet!  I stamped a sentiment as well, but I really wanted it to be a Christmas card, so I added this on the inside:

Since most of the US has been under super-duper cold weather, I hope you'll find some chilly inspiration and stamp something with us this week!  Just remember to keep it clean and simple:  minimal layers and embellishments!  Check out what the other designers did over at the Paper Players blog!

I actually did have some winter fun on Friday....John and I went sledding down our front yard hill! I was wishing Cassidy could have been with us, hopefully she did some sledding at her own house! It was PERFECT sledding weather...it wasn't windy, the snow was light and fluffy, it was wonderful!  At my age, I only went down a few times, but it was a blast!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC560 So Tiny, So Precious

Happy Friday, peeps! I just couldn't wait to make a new baby card for my niece and nephew, to welcome their little "Maven Faye" to the world!  Here she is:

I am trying to tell which one of the boys, Jameson or Sawyer, she looks like...I think it's too early to tell, but she definitely looks like one of them!  Anyway, on to my card!  My niece doesn't really go for the pastel pinks, lace and ribbons; as you can see, Maven's onesie has a definite organic feel to it!  I opted for some pretty papers from Unity to make her a card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch; I know it's not your typical baby girl card, but I hope she'll like it!  Here's the sketch:

And here we go:

I covered my card with this pretty plaid and chose a floral print for the top, but I didn't want to cover up that gorgeous tulip, so I used it as my focal image, diecutting it with a Stylish Shapes square die.  I used a smaller square die to cut coordinating squares.  I offset the main panel a wee bit so that some of that pretty plaid could peek through:

And the inside; all sentiments are from Charming Sentiments, stamped in Copper Clay ink; the banner on the front was some Very Vanilla cardstock that I colored with a Light Soft Sea Foam Blend...matches the green in the papers pretty well!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Double the Joy

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I have two almost identical cards for you today; they are for the Color Throwdown challenge as well as the Little Red Wagon "sentimental" challenge, and I am tossing it in over at the Double D challenge of Sparkle & Shine as well:

Just a day ago, I received some beautiful Mintay Christmas papers, and they had several in pink and blue. I chose two identical snowflake patterns and used a Poppystamps die to cut out the word "Joy", then went to work:

These papers are very pale, so it's a bit challenging to see how pretty they are!  I put the blue letters on the pink card:

and the pink letters on the blue card! One I adhered flat, the other I popped up, just to see the difference!

For the blush color of the challenge, I coated a piece of Petal Pink with clear glitter to put behind the snowflake opening on each card, then added a Genial Gem to the center.  It's so pretty peeking through!  I also added some glitter ribbon on each card.

With the leftover piece of DSP, I stamped a Christmas sentiment from Hope & Peace and put on the  inside:

Thanks for popping in today!

We're so excited because I have a great-niece!  Jameson and Sawyer have a little sister, she arrived Wednesday morning early!  I will have pictures soon!  FINALLY a girl in the family!  So blessed!  Enjoy your day and be blessed too!

TSOT639 A Bright Get Well

ooHappy Wednesday, peeps!  Brrrr! It's COLD here in SE PA!  I have a hot pink card that should warm us up today! It uses the sketch from Try A Sketch on Tuesday:

I love this sketch because I love things in THREES!! Woohoo!  So here we go:

I wanted something bright for my friend so I pulled out some retired Magenta Madness cardstock; I thought some of the black and white prints from the Zoo Crew DSP and made some banners.  I attached them to my card front, which I had embossed with the Starry embossing folder.  I made a horizontal banner on which I stamped my sentiment, then added a white and Magenta Madness glimmer star.  I diecut four tiny black stars....the tiniest die I think I have in my inventory, to embellish the top right corner as well as the magenta star:

I added the inside star and another one floating around on my desk on the inside for fun:

I love this sketch...it's a keeper!

Dana is not much of a baker, she admits that, but wanted to make Wayne a cake for his birthday.  Unfortunately, she didn't have all the ingredients she needed, so she made him brownies, and made homemade peanut butter icing to go on top.  Since he loves those peanut blossom cookies, she decorated his cake with Hershey's kisses:

It was also our 25th wedding anniversary yesterday....here's John's cute decor that greeted me first thing in the morning....the plant was already there, he just did the "decor" and cards!

He's such a sweetie! Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
