AYSI Behold Good Tidings

Happy Friday, peeps!  Wow, I've got a busy weekend coming up, how about you?!  This is the last As You See It challenge of the year, we'll be taking a wee little break, but we'll be back in January with some fresh new challenges!  To finish the year, we've got a "Fill In The Blank":

No photo description available.

My fill-in is "The Birth of Jesus" because it really is what Christmas is all about!  I am overwhelmed when I think what the Lord did for us!  It really does bring me joy!

I found this paper in my Luke 2 pad by Photoplay and decided to create my card around it!  So here we go:

It's hard to see, but my Bethlehem scene is diecut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper; I tore off the backing of the paper before I put it through the SugarPea die, as it is intricate and the thicker paper has a tendency to rip as I try to get it out of the die.  It also cuts out a star, and the DSP also had a star, so I just popped it up right on top!  I stamped this beautiful sentiment from Scrapbook.com in Early Espresso using my Stamparatus to make sure I got good coverage:

The bottom portion looked a little plain, so I stamped a smaller, narrow sentiment on the same paper and diecut it with a banner die:

It all went on an Early Espresso card with a white mat on the inside for my sentiment!

So, what brings you joy for the holidays?  I hope you can find time during your busy schedule to create one more card and share it with us at As You See It!  Thanks for popping in today!

Okay, so I have to continue the elf story...and boy, do I feel like a dummy!  After several people pointed it out to me, Cassidy was spelling "By The Way" vertically!!  It must have been because I was looking at it late at night (yeah, that's it!!!)!!!  Anyway, the "elf" wrote back a letter:

I noticed that Elfdon misspelled "rescue" but I guess maybe he didn't get an "A" in spelling class, LOL!  And I haven't found out yet what the special gift was!  Stay tuned!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Peekaboo Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the weekend is upon us---hope you have some fun stuff planned!  I haven't had much stamping time the last few days, so I thought I would share my favorite card from my last Christmas card stamp camp:

Isn't that a fun way to use up some scraps?!  The die is from Close to My Heart; I call it a peekaboo die, but I think the name of it is Multi Circle Window...peekaboo is so much cuter, though!  My friend Laurel shared it on her blog and I just had to have it!  I cut it from a piece of Crumb Cake and backed the circles with papers from Authentique's Nostalgia and Christmastime papers.  If you cut your squares (or use a punch) 1 1/4" square, they fit perfectly inside the little stitched areas!  Check out all these cute little patterns:

I added a banner sentiment stamped in Old Olive (scrapbook.com's Heartfelt Christmas) and mounted everything on a Very Vanilla card.  Can't wait to play with this one some more!  Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS392 Magnolia Birthday

Happy Friday, everyone!  I'm a little late today...a lazy day today!  I absolutely love the FMS sketch for this week...I'll be using it again for sure:

That big panel is great for DSP, or a stamped image, or anything!  I haven't used much of my Magnolia Lane DSP, and I thought this pretty pattern would be good for a birthday card I need:

I diecutt it with a Stitched Rectangle die, then matted it on some Mossy Meadow cardstock and stamped the words in Mossy Meadow as well...these are from a free set I got recently from scrapbook.com!  I really love how well they ink up and stamp!  I custom-cut them with a smaller Stitched Rectangle die and popped them up with dimensionals.  Since I didn't get the stamp set that coordinates with this paper, I fussy-cut a bloom from the opposite side of this paper and used it as a focal point:

For fun, I coated it with Wink of Stella (you might just be able to see the shimmer) and added some retired Faceted Embellishments.

Thank so much for popping in today!

I am pretty sure Cassidy is going to be a teacher, or at least the boss of somebody; she corraled some our of church family kids at our church picnic and was giving them karate lessons!

Looks like they're doing pretty well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
