Happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day to all! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I’ve got a color challenge for you:

I think these colors are sweet enough together to be used for a feminine creation, but they could be used just as well for a masculine creation, and that’s just what I did:
I am kind of stuck on Guy Greetings lately…there are so many great masculine images as well as sentiments, and I remembered that I had these cool dies from My Favorite Things (although I believe they are retired) that would work perfectly with the nautical theme I was going for! They were also perfect for the Match The Sketch sketch this week too:

First, I stamped my sentiment in Lost Lagoon, along with some “rope” from Sea Street in Sahara Sand, and cut it out with a circle die:
stamped the logbook from The Open Sea in Pistachio Pudding, diecut another circle and added an anchor diecut:
and repeated that with the world map image and the wheel diecut:
I added some Candy Dots and Linen thread for rope and mounted them on some stitched circles from Lil’Inkers in Lost Lagoon. Finally, I stamped the inside:
I thoroughly enjoyed creating this card and I now need to hide it away so DH doesn’t see his own Father’s Day card, LOL! I hope you’ll play with the Players this week with my color combination! You can see what the other designers created right here:
John was burning some pallets at the burn barrel on Friday and found a little red toad. I am so thankful that Cassidy is not afraid of “critters”! She held it willingly, although at one point, I thought she might squeeze it to death, but she let it go into the yard and then encouraged him to hop into the flower bed!
I can honestly say that in 60 years, I have never seen a red toad! Upon doing some research, I am pretty sure it was a Fowler’s toad! And a few minutes later we found a normal toad…not sure what its name was….and he got released down by the creek:
It’s fun to share nature with her! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
Happy Sunday, everyone! Hope your weekend is moving along in a dandy way! My sweet friend Sandy has our theme challenge today at the Paper Players, and I just love it! I had a bunch of ideas for this one!

In the end, I decided to use Lesley’s Fusion challenge as a starting point for my card:

I used both the sketch and the colors for my card, so it is a bit busier than my usual style, but I had fun creating it! Here we go!
I didn’t use kitchen images for my card, obviously, but I have a lot of vintage-style travel images, so I pulled them all out! My images are from Traveler, The Open Sea and Postage Due, and the sentiment is from Project Life’s Remember This. I stamped the images on DSP and did some distressing along the edges. The map background is some Typeset paper that I brayered with Crushed Curry ink. I also hand-painted the stripes on my sentiment circle to imitate the striped can in the challenge photo:
I added some ribbon, linen thread, twine and candy dots as well. On the inside, I combined sentiments Num Num and Adventure Awaits, which has such cool fonts, I just loved how it turned out! I think this will be great for a masculine birthday or maybe a retirement card!
The design team has come up with some fabulous creations using the Transportation theme, so share yours with us as well at the Paper Players blog! You can also check them out here:
Speaking of transportation, Cassidy enjoyed her own form of transportation yesterday:
Enjoy your day!
Happy Sunday, peeps! I have missed you all! I am feeling a little better, but the pollen is really wreaking havoc with my allergies this spring! I was happy to do some stamping to take my mind off of them. Ann has a lovely sketch for us today over at the Paper Players! Let’s take a look at it:

I was able to move some of my stamping stuff back into my “remodeled” craft room but before I did, I broke out my new This and That Epic Day DP to make a vintage-looking Father’s Day card:
Wow, this paper is fabulous for someone who loves vintage-y stuff like ME! I added some collage stamping from The Open Sea, although you wouldn’t need to----it’s rustic-looking just as it is! I even stamped the ship and anchor images on some of it, both in Basic Gray:
The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen, and I colored it in with a marker:
I cut some strips to make my banners and mounted the whole card on a Basic Gray card base. This sketch is so much fun….and you can make the focal point any shape at all! Be sure to check out the Paper Players blog to see how the other designers interpreted it, and play along with us!!'
Enjoying a little outdoor snack!
Have a blessed day!
