PP784 Challenge from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, peeps! Time for a new challenge from the Players, and Jaydee is our hostess this week with a wonderful theme!  Here we go:

This should be an easy one, right?!  I have had this gingham border floating around on my desk for weeks, left over from another project, so I decided to put it to use!  I needed a birthday card for a young woman at church who sings with Dana in our ensemble, but she is also an accomplished baker!  She made some tiramisu to share at ensemble practice, and Dana, knowing that tiramisu is my FAVORITE dessert, actually shared some with me! YUM!  So this card is for her:

I know that baking isn't necessarily an all-feminine theme, but it is for me today!  These images are all from Lawn Fawn's Baked with Love, stamped in black, diecut and colored with Blends or Copics:

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs' Mini Tag Sentiments, and I also used the new SU Product of the Month Eyelet Blooms die, but instead of diecutting it, I dry embossed it for a background!  Pretty  Here's the inside of the card:

I hope she likes it! And I hope you like our theme well enough to play along with us this week!  Check out what the other designers created at the Paper Players blog and come share yours with us too!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI360 You're the Micest!

Happy Friday, all! Happy Halloween! And time for a new As You See It challenge:

What a great theme! So many possibilitiees, right?!  I haven't played with my wee little Harvest Mice from My Favorite Things this season yet, so I got them out and got inky with them:

I stamped this little mouse and his harvest of apples on some watercolor paper and colored them with inks and an aquapainter, them added a diecut fence and some falling leaves, all on a background of some Thoughful Journey DSP:

I added the sentiment and mounted everything on a Cloud Cover card base.  Our local state representative's office recently notarized fourteen documents for me--no charge--so this is going to them along with some fall goodies!

I hope you'll play along with our "harvest" theme too!  Hop on over to the As You See It blog to see what everyone else came up with!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS703 Patchwork Pumpkin

Happy Thursday, peeps! Recently on a quilting site, I saw some fun little patchwork pumpkins:

And when I saw the FMS sketch:

I thought it would be fun to recreate those pumpkins using paper and dies, similar to this card that I just did!  So here we go:

I used a few scraps from Carta Bella's Fall Break and some Taylored Expressions dies to create my pumpkin.  Then I mounted it on an Everyday Arch diecut from Very Vanilla and embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder:

I added a punched leaf and some linen thread; the outside sentiment is from Right at Home (and I know it's larger than what the sketch required, sorry) and the inside sentiment is from Lawn Fawn:

I have enough of my "patchwork" pieces to make a couple more pumpkins!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

52CCTD Be Merry

Happy Wednesday, everyone! The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge is a fun sketch:

I pulled out some fun holiday papers from My Mind's Eye and here's what I came up with:

I cut the circles with the retired Stitched Shapes dies and added mats of Blushing Bride.  The embossing is from the Northern Flurry EF.  I added a retired Lawn Fawn sentiment, stamped on the same set of papers. Aren't these prints cute?

I added a Kaiser Kraft sentiment on the inside!

Another Christmas card to add to my stash!  And I am going to add this to the Little Red Wagon challenge this week, where they're wanting circles!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

52CCT24-37 Sweet Christmas

Hello stampers!  Happy Saturday! I was chosen to be a Guest Designer at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown...one of my favorite challenges!  This week it's a sketch:

What a fun sketch!  I pulled out some Unity papers, some retired cardstock and stamp sets and went to work!  Here we go:

I created a little frame from Poppy Parade cardstock to frame my little candy cane; there are actually candy canes on the printed paper, but I covered them all up!!! I added some diecut "greenery", a little baker's twine and an enamel "berry"!  The Certainly Celery panel was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder too:

I combined two stamp sets to create my sentiment; the "Christmas" is from Impression Obsession's Christmas Words, and the "have a sweet" is from Lawn Fawn's Baked with Love:

And the inside sentiment is from the retired Jar of Cheer:

So much fun to play with all these layers! I hope you'll play along with the challenge too....Christmas will be here before you know it, so if you've not started your holiday cards, I hope this will get you in the mood!  Thanks for popping in today!

Wayne, his brother, his cousin, Dana & Cassidy went to Tampa to see the Eagles play---unfortunately it was NOT a good game for Eagles fans!  It was about 100 degrees, but I think they still had a good time!

Uncle Matt looking goofy in the background!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS655 Candy Corn Lineup

Happy Monday, peeps! I am squeaking in a card for FMS today; I had lots of ideas for this card, but finally decided on another Halloween card, as my stash is low.  Here's the fun sketch:

Isn't that fun?  My first thought was buttons, but in the end, I went with candy corn!  Here we go:

These little cuties are from Lawn Fawn; I stamped, colored and fussy-cut them out, then mounted them on a simple card base of Pumpkin Pie on which I embossed a Stitched With Whimsy die.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time, diecut with a Stylish Shapes dies.  I did add a couple of wee little star sequins just for fun!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CCCC32 Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Friday! Yay, the weekend is upon us!  My desk is covered with Christmas stamps right now, so when I saw the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge this week of "cute critters", I knew just which stamp I wanted to use!

And here we go:

I admit that this Mr Fox from Lawn Fawn is probably thinking that there is hot chocolate in his mug, but for today, we'll pretend that it's coffee!  I stamped him in Versafine Black ink and colored him with an aquapainter and inks.  I snipped a wee little snowflake from some printed paper and adhered it to his mug, and there is glitter on the snow! A pretty plaid mat and some Cherry Cobbler seam binding finished the outside:

A fun little sentiment from Oh What Fun went on the inside!

Here are a few more birthday cards from friends!  This is from my friend Karen in Florida:

And this happy one is from Tracy:

And this beauty is from Mollie:

And here's a shot of my family; Dana, Wayne and John all planned a surprise birthday dinner for me at a local restaurant...an Italian restaurant so I could have my yearly celebratory tiramisu!!  After a comical mixup of seating, the surprise was revealed and I was happy to be with them to celebrate my birthday.  A few seconds later, I felt a tap on my shoulder and my sister from South Carolina stood behind me! She flew up to PA the day before and spent a secretive weekend with Dana just to surprise me!  They REALLY got me!!  I was thrilled!  And oh my goodness, John is actually smiling, LOL! Poor guy was in torment all weekend long, keeping that secret!

Dana had another surprise up her sleeve, but I'll tell you about that much later!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Wish Upon A Star Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  My card today is a little out of my norm, but I needed a card quickly and just sort of threw this together!  A sweet church friend is a dog lover....I mean a REAL dog lover, and her birthday is coming up.  The challenge at JUGS is to use stencils, and the Seize the Birthday challenge is to use red as the main color:

I pulled out the retired Happy Tails and its matching punch, some star stencils I received as a gift, and here is my quick card:

I remember experimenting with red inks on red cardstocks but I forget what I ended up thinking was the best color...this was Cherry Cobbler, and I don't really like the muddy effect it created, but I needed to get this in the mail, so I'll have to experiment again!  Anyway, I stamped my pup on Crumb Cake and punched him out:

The sentiment on the front of the card is a from Lawn Fawn's Upon a Star:

and on the inside, the sentiment is from Spellbinders, along with some paw prints from Happy Tails:

I hope she likes it!  And just to show you how special my friend is, she volunteers for an organization called Canine Partners for Life.  They train service dogs for people with disabilities and are seizure-prone, and besides the regular trainers, they use people like Sue who raise and foster puppies to be service dogs. They also use prisoners who train them as well.  It's a pretty cool setup! She brings her dogs to church and sometimes we can hear them as they are napping and dreaming, LOL!  Check it out at their website!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP665 Give Thanks

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Anne Marie is our Paper Players hostess today with the timely theme of "Give Thanks":

Even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, or send out Thanksgiving Day cards, a thank you card is always appropriate!  But I do have some cute Thanksgiving stamps, so that's what I went with!  I also used the sketch and colors from CAS Colours & Sketches:

So here we go:

I stamped the mice in Versafine Black and watercolored them with Gray Granite and Basic Black inks, then stamped and fussy-cut the cheese, coloring it with Hello Honey.  The panels are some green scrapbook paper from my stash and some Cajun Craze plaid from a couple of years ago!  They were diecut with the Stitched Triangle dies, then layered on a Very Vanilla card.

I may go back and give these little mice a little blush on their cheeks, LOL!  I also managed to track down my retired Really Rust ink pad for the sentiment inside!

We all have something for which to be thankful! I hope you'll translate that into a card and share it with us at the Paper Players!  Be sure to check out what the design team created as well!

PP660 Wish Upon a Star

Happy Sunday, everyone! Happy October, too! Ann is our Paper Players hostess and she really challenged me today!  Here's her theme:

Now, I have NOTHING vaguely resembling space travel or planets, so it was a good thing Ann said we could use the sun, moon or stars!  That I could come up with!  I think I won this cute Lawn Fawn set many "moons" ago, and this seemed like a good time to use it:

I found some Sun Prints DSP from last year that looked like a sky, and heat embossed the stars on it:

I added a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside hill of Mossy Meadow and perched my two little friends on top, then added an embossed sentiment:

It all went on a Starry Sky card base; on the inside, I added a Basic White panel on the inside with a birthday greeting:

So hopefully you can come up with some sort of space or sky-themed creation this week!  Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see what the amazing Design Team came up with, then share yours with us too!

Yesterday my TOPS group (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) had a local meeting with some other area TOPS groups.

It's a fun day of learning helpful hints for good health, and we always have raffles and games.  My friend, who is the president, is also the luckiest person I know and won these flowers.  She says she is also  has a brown thumb, so she gave them to me...they match my shirt! What a friend she is!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
