Masculine Tag Birthday

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a fun birthday card I made for our nephew; it's always a challenge for me to make masculine cards, but I recently got a fun Tim Holtz die, so I pulled out some cardstock, printed paper and went to work:

I diecut a piece of Early Espresso with the die, then backed it with a stripey piece of some scrap DSP from my stash.  Of course, after I adhered the background paper, I decided to stamp the front with some script from Elements of Text in the same color.  I cut a tag with a die I've had for years and don't think I ever used, then stamped a birthday sentiment on it, and added a diecut star and some fun twine.

A simple sentiment went on the inside.  I can't wait to play with these dies some more!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Retro Rubber 265 Hey, Cowboy

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Middle of the week, it's all downhill from here! I needed a birthday card for a little boy at church, and the Retro Rubber challenge was a tic-tac-toe grid:

I'll let you read their post to see why there are pumpkins on the grid, LOL!  Needless to say, I didn't choose that option, but went with the Kraft Paper/My Choice and Embossing across the middle. I pulled out some real oldies for this one!  Here we go:

This card looks MUCH better in real life than it does here....just sayin', it doesn't photograph very well!  I used the cowboy image from Out West (2010) and did some black heat embossing on Kraft cardstock.  After I heat embossed it, I did some watercoloring (my free choice) and fussy-cut it out, mounting it on a Kraft square that was also embossed with a retired Wrapped in Texture embossing folder.  You can see the embossing better here:

My "hey" and Rootin' Tootin' are from the retired Yee-Haw set (2014) and I confess, I forgot that the other sentiment is still current!  Oops!  The horseshoe and hat are also from Out West, and the stars are from Yee-Haw as well, all stamped in Crumb Cake:

The patterned paper on the front is from an older Cosmo Cricket pad called Wanted.  It was fun to use these older sets!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PCC652 Denim Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Trying to catch up on my late-December birthday cards!  I have not played with the Paper Craft Crew challenge for a long, long time and they had a nice sketch:

I needed a masculine birthday card, and I found some "denim" papers in my stash from a long time ago and picked out a few that coordinated:

My panels and banner are all from the Nested Essentials dies; sentiment is from Simply Said:

And since I still had Best Year on my desk from yesterday's card, one of its sentiments went inside:

I really like these papers---too bad they're almost gone!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI362 Birthday Sketch

Happy Friday, all! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!! My Black Friday plans are to do nothing, LOL!  We do have a new challenge for you at As You See It, and it's a lovely sketch:

I needed a birthday card so I pulled out some Peaceful Garden DSP---it's not just for Christmas--and cut some of the coordinating patterns to fit the sketch:

I layered everything on a Basic White panel that was embossed with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder, then added some leafy diecuts cut from some Peaceful Garden Glimmer paper, along with some white Pearls of Beauty:

The sentiment is from Simply Said, stamped in Secret Sea ink.

I hope you'll play along with our lovely sketch this week!  It's a great way to use up some of those leftover DSP pieces we can't seem to toss---I am sure you all know what I'm talking about!  We hope you'll share your creation with us at the As You See It blog!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

LRW829 Vivid Leaves

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I am way late today!  But I've been experimenting in my craft room and having some fun with some old products and new products!  I was totally enamored by THIS CARD created by my PP teammate, Stef.  Wowza, it is amazing!

I remembered that I had some retired dies from SU called Stitched Leaves, and I thought I'd  experiment with them to see if I could come up with something similar.  I used blending brushes and ink instead of alcohol inks to color mine, but I was happy with the vivid colors I was able to achieve:

Stef's challenge was to only use rust and yellow, but I went with all the fall colors!  The yellow leaf is diecut from some watercolor paper, but the other leaves were diecut with some new paper that will be coming out soon called Whispers of Texture.  If you look closely, you can see a wee bit of a woven texture on them:

I also added some new embellishments called Pearls of Beauty, and I unraveled some burlap ribbon to create a rustic bow.  Everything went on a panel of Country Woods DSP, and I stamped a sentiment from Simply Said.  I am going to enter this at the Little Red Wagon challenge because they're looking for a Captain's "log"...anything woodgrain!

The leaves outside my window don't look quite this bright, but they are beginning to turn!  Fall is definitely in the air!  Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Autumn Toile Trio

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I confess that when crafting or sewing, I tend to gravitate towards tiny prints and wee little designs! However, SU has some lovely larger designs in a fall DSP package called Autumn Toile, and I just love the prints they have designed!  I made some samples for my stamp clubs last week and thought I'd share three of my favorites!  Here we go:

I love pumpkins, so this may be my favorite pattern in the whole bunch! I created a tag using some CTMH Kraft paper and the Nested Essentials dies, adhering a Metallic Rub-on and some sequins, then stamping a sentiment using words from the new Seasonal Tags and Choose Happy:

This pattern is great for a masculine card:

I used a sentiment from Simply Said along with a diecut from the new Words for the Season;  Very Vanilla cardstock was adhered to a piece of Adhesive foam and diecut...it really pops against the tattersall pattern:

And finally, this little foxy print is just so fun as well:

I distressed the Early Espresso mat with the edge of an acrylic ruler, then cut a Crumb Cake partial arch with the Everyday Arches die, added a pine bough from Seasonal Tags, the Thanksgiving from Choose Happy, and the diecut greeting is from Words for the Season:

I hope you love all of these patterns as much as I do! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI352 What Shape Would You Use?

Happy Friday, peeps! Time for a new As You See It challenge....and it's a fun one:

My shape would definitely be a circle and I do have three of them here, although they're a wee bit hidden by the shapes of my sunglasses! I hope that's acceptable to my own team members, LOL!

I had the idea for this card in my head a few days ago, mostly for the Inkspirational challenge of using three of something (I love my threes!), and then when I saw the Sunday Stamps sketch, it just all went together:

My sunglasses are from the Notes & Totes die and I used Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black to create them, popping them up on circles diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies:

My background paper is Coastal Cabana DSP, and my little wonky strips are from Spellbinders, Kristina's Finishing Touches.  There's Wink of Stella on the glasses for some extra shine!  Since this is a thank you card for one of my club girls, I used a sentiment from Simply Said directly on to the DSP.

So how about you?  What would be your shape to use on a card? We can't wait to see what shape you choose!  Share your creation with us at the As You See It blog and take a peek at what the other designers created as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

In(k)spire Me 564 Floral Hello

Happy Friday, peeps! Happy weekend! The sketch challenge at In(k)spire Me is a lovely one:

This is my favorite pattern from the Beautiful Gallery DSP, made even better because the flip side is that pretty Cloud Cover!  I used another favorite, the Layers of Beauty bundle!  Here we go:

The rose was stamped in Smoky Slate, then sponged with the stencil in Timid Tiger and Cloud Cover.  I added some Cloud Cover ribbon and a few stitched lines, then a sentiment from Simply Said:

To give the rose a distressed look, I overstamped it with the retired Sanded background stamp  in Basic Beige.  The inside was left blank until I need it for a certain occasion!

Thanks so much for popping in!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

HSSSC464 Birthday Daisy

Happy Wednesday, everyone! My card today features a sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

And some papers from Country Woods and Perennial Lavender, along with a couple of daisies from Natural Botanicals:

This is my first time using the Two-Tone cardstock, which has a white core.  I embossed this piece of Pool Party with the Exposed Brick embossing folder, then sanded it to show the white beneath! I stamped the daisies in Pecan Pie ink and rather than use the opposite side of the two-step stamp to fill it in, I opted to use an aquapainter and Pool Party ink for a softer look:

I heat-embossed a sentiment from Simply Said with Craft White ink and white embossing powder, then cut it out with a Textured Notes die:

I really like the rustic feel of this!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC629

Happy Monday, everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!  Today is Stamp Club day and I am looking forward to stamping with my ladies!  It's also time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge:

I deviated a wee tiny bit from the sketch, putting my sentiment directly on the panel!  Here we go:

I just love the patterns and faux texture on these Everyday Happiness papers!  I pulled out one of my favorite retired stamps, Painted Harvest, to create my floral image:

I used Lost Lagoon, Pebbled Path, Gray Granite and Wild Wheat, then fussy-cut the flower and leaves out.  The sentiment is from Simply Said, which has great everyday sentiments!  Everything went on a Basic Beige card.  I hope you'll find some inspiration from this fun sketch and share it with us at the Atlantic Hearts blog! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

HSS461 Thinking of You

Happy Wednesday, all! The end of the catalog is near and I still have tons of DSP leftover, LOL!  I used up a wee bit of my Thoughtful Journey paper with the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch from this week, though!  Here's the sketch:

So here we go:

I cut my panel on the diagonal and added a wee little piece of Pretty Peacock to make it stand out a bit more; I also added an embossed panel using the Distressed Tile embossing folder.  I already had a Very Vanilla panel diecut with the Textured Notes dies; I added another panel using the DSP and a sentiment from Simply Said:

I thought the lower portion looked a little plain, so I stamped and fussy-cut some leaves from Natural Botanicals and "tied" them with the Mellow Moss linen thread.  I left the inside blank, as this could be used for any number of occasions!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC616 Tools & Plaids Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps! Living in the Philadelphia area, it was quite exciting yesterday to see our Eagles win the Super Bowl.  I mainly use watching football to knit or cross stitch, so it's not really a big deal to me, but Wayne is a BIG Philadelphia sports team fan, so he was quite happy!

Our sketch from Atlantic Hearts today is a great one if you like to layer:

I needed a birthday card for my nephew, and so I pulled out some plaid papers from Timeless Plaid and a few tool charms and went to work:

I used both sides of one plaid paper, and added a panel of Crumb Cake, embossed with the retired Subtle embossing folder.  I stamped a sentiment from Simply Said in Pecan Pie ink before embossing it!  A few tool charms were diecut and glued together for embellishments, and I added some Natural trim; it's not ribbon, so it's a wee bit more masculine!!

The inside sentiment is from a retired set called Best Year:

Our sketch is open, so feel free to play along with us and share your creation over at the Atlantic Hearts blog! We can't wait to see what creativity you show us!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC599 Fall Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch and I pulled out some retired stamps and some new stamps for my card!  Here's the sketch:

I had originally planned for this card to go to my pastor, but I got a bit carried away with colors and layers, and he is definitely a "plain" kinda guy, so I'll save this for someone else, LOL!  I used the retied Forever Fern and the new Simply Said sets in some gray, gold and rust shades:

I diecut a panel with the Deckled Edge Rectangle dies, then added my foliage; I diecut a matching horizontal panel in Cajun Craze and added a gingham pattern to it, then added my birthday sentiment on top:

My Soft Stone (Papertrey) card was embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder, and on the inside, I added an Unbounded Love sentiment diecut with a Timeless Arrangements die:

So it will be back to the drawing board for a new card for my pastor, but meanwhile, I have a new card for my birthday stash!  I hope you'll play along with us...we love to see your take on our sketches at Atlantic Hearts!

CASC&S545 Celebrate

Happy Thursday, peeps! Gosh, this week has been busy! I feel like I am in a whirlwind!  Thankfully, my card today was quick and EASY!  I am giving Joanne at CAS Colours & Sketches a nod because she gave me the idea to use another image from my Joyful Images Ephemera pack, since I had it on my desk already from yesterday's card!  Here is their sketch:

I loved this little bell, and I already had a Very Vanilla circle diecut with the Spotlight on Nature dies, so I put them all together for this:

The red horizontal panel is also from the Ephemera pack; it's two piece adhered together.  I did add a little Garden Green circle behind the diecut circle; a partial sentiment from Simply Said, and I adhered it to a Very Vanilla card that was embossed with a retired embossing folder.  I cut the card down to 4" wide so that the piece hanging over the side would still fit in a standard envelope!  My final addition was a wee little sequin from my stash!  Easy peasy! And since this week's Krafty Chicks challenge is CAS, I am entering it there as well!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
