PP465 A Sketch from Ann

Hi everyone!  Sunday means another Paper Players challenge, with Ann as our hostess!  She has given us a fabulous sketch...I just love this one!

I haven't played with Painted Harvest for a while, and I thought it would be pretty in Terracotta Tile, which is a great fall color!  I paired it with some gingham and Come to Gather DSPs:

I diecut the woodgrain paper with a Stitched Shape square die, then stamped the flower in Terracotta Tile and Crumb Cake, then fussy-cut it out:

I stamped a few leaves in Soft Suede and placed them under the flower as well as under my sentiment.  The card base was embossed with the Tufted EF, and I also added some Linen Braid trim!

Finally, on the inside, I stamped another sentiment and the smaller flower, stamped off on a scrap first to give it a lighter effect:

I hope you'll play along with our awesome sketch---there are so many possibilities with it!  Share yours at the Paper Players blog, and while you're there, check out what the other design team member made as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy with her "First Visit to Disney" sticker!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Colour Inkspiration You Are Wonderful

Happy Friday, peeps!  I have been busy in my craft room this week, getting ready for an upcoming Christmas card camp and I barely have stamped anything else, but I did want to participate in Colour Inkspiration's latest color challenge, even though it REALLY was a challenge for me:

I think it was the Blueberry Bushel that threw me for a loop....but here we go:

I used a thick white cardstock base and embossed it with the Basketweave embossing folder, then added a layer of Pretty Peacock.  On top was a stitched panel on which I stamped some florals from Painted Harvest in Terracotta Tile and Petal Pink; I added some Blueberry Bushel speckles (just to get that color in there, LOL!), then I stamped some leaves with Pretty Peacock and tucked them between the mat and the stamped layer:

I stamped a sentiment from Rooted in Nature, also in Blueberry Bushel, and added a few speckles around it too; the final embellishments are some Iridescent Sequins and Polka Dot Tulle ribbon!

Definitely out of my comfort zone, but that's what challenges are for, right?!  So happy you stopped by today!  Now I am off to the pool for some R&R!

Here are a couple more birthday cards!

These are from Doris and Billie, I just love the colors in these:

And these beauties are from Linda and Wendy!  So clever and creative!

Thanks ladies!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTD530 and TMS490 for Dana

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Today is Dana's birthday and I can share my card with you because she's already received it!!  I was intrigued by the color palette at the Color Throwdown this week, and I also liked the sketch from Tuesday Morning sketches:

So here we go:

I gave a plethora of products some love on this one, LOL!  The stamps are all SU; Painted Harvest for the flower; Rooted in Nature for the leaf; and an old Paper Pumpkin set for the sentiment and as an afterthought, I threw in the butterfly!  I used a combination of Melon Mambo and Berry Burst for the flower, with Smoky Slate for the center and leaf:

My print papers are from MME's Gingham Farm; the horizontal Berry Burst piece was cut with a die from Swirly Snowflakes, and the scalloped border is from Close to My Heart!  Finally on the inside, another Paper Pumpkin sentiment (I have SO many of them!) and I repeated the leaf stamp!

We are off very early today to take another load of tools from my dad's house to the auction!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF153 Thanks in Purple

Happy Monday, peeps, and Happy New Year's Eve!  I had this card created a week ago and totally forgot to post it in all the holiday excitement!  I usually shy away from purple hues, but a special friend really likes it, so I created this card for her!  It uses a Gorgeous Grape card base and inks, along with accents of Old Olive and So Saffron:

My background is, of course, Buffalo Check, and the florals are from Painted Harvest and Rooted in Nature.  I covered a narrow piece of Gorgeous Grape with the Polka Dot Tulle ribbon, because I love plaid and polka dots together...in small amounts!

Finally, the sentiment is from Wood Words, and it is all mounted on a circle diecut with the Stitched Shapes framelits.  My sweet little sketch is from Fab Friday:

Easy and cute!

A few photos from our Christmas day....my niece in her "Ralphie" bunny pajamas!  This cracked us all up, especially since first of all, this is very much unlike her, and second of all,  her brother, who outweighs her by about 100 pounds, put it on after she did!  (I didn't want to embarrass him by showing you that photo!!):

My great-nephew with his new "digger":

And a silly picture of Cassidy from breakfast:

And of course, Eden, in her Eagles outfit:

 Just look at that face!

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

PP417 Gather Together

Hi everyone!  Happy Sunday!  Hope your weekend has been wonderful so far!  Claire is our hostess at the Paper Players this week and she has a lovely theme challenge for us:

I am afraid my mojo has gone into hiding lately and my other activities are sucking the life out of it!  I just didn't do this lovely photo justice with my little card, but hopefully Claire will forgive me!  And really, this card looks better in real life than it does here!! So here we are:

My Thanksgiving stamp selection is a little sparse, so I went with the wheat spray from Wishing You Well and a sentiment from Painted Harvest!  I used the color challenge from TGIF:

I first embossed my base with the Quilt Top embossing folder; the image was stamped in Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze, and I added the sentiment and bow in Merry Merlot.  I distressed the Merry Merlot mat as well, and also sent the stamped panel through the Subtle embossing folder for a little interest.  I colored some pearls with a Bronze Blend and added them to the spray:

I pulled out some vintage goodies; the striped Cajun Craze is from many years ago, as is this sweet little sentiment from Falling Leaves:

I know I have more Thanksgiving stamps around, I just need to root around to find them, LOL!  Meanwhile, I hope you will get a head start on your Thanksgiving cards and play with us at the Players!  Can't wait to see you there.  Check out the DT to get more inspiration:

Yesterday our church had its annual Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing party!  The kids LOVE this!  We have a small church, but we collect items all year long and we were able to pack 118 boxes!

We are blessed to have a Dansko shoe outlet right in my little town and they very graciously donate empty shoeboxes that would normally be bound for recycling:

After setting out all the school supplies, hygiene items, toys, shoes and whatever else collected, each person gets a shoebox and packs it up according to age and gender!  Sometimes the wee ones need a little help, but most of them are old pros at it!

Cassidy is one of the old pros, LOL!

Luke is one of our new pastor's children, and he was quite serious about his selections:

And when they're all done and stacked up, the boxes make a great place to take a picture, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB 34 Rustic Summer

Howdy, peeps!  I can say "howdy" because our Inspired By Challenge today is called "Rustic Summer"!  Does this seem rustic to you?  Hope so!

And here is Laurel's lovely prompt:

I know her flowers are dandelions, but this Painted Harvest sunflower was the closest I could find!  I said earlier this week that yellow was not a color I was drawn to, and here I've used it twice so far!!  I stamped the flower in Pineapple Punch and Crushed Curry, fussy-cut it out and sponged the edges so the color went right to the very edge!  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive and Garden Green and I clustered them behind the flower, then added some glimmer dots to look like dew:

I am totally enamored of the new Buffalo Check background stamp; here I stamped a piece of Whisper White with Garden Green ink, angling it on the stamp to get a diagonal plaid.  The sentiment, because I never have enough get-well cards, is from Apron of Love, and it was diecut with the Stitched Labels framelit die:

A piece of woodgrain paper provided a lovely "rustic" background!  This card just makes me happy, and I hope it will cheer someone up when it goes out in the mail!  I hope as well that you'll play with our challenge at Inspired By and share your creation with us as well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Cassidy told me the other day she only has to wait eight more years until she can drive!!!!  Yikes!  She is getting a head-start by helping Mommy fill her gas tank, LOL! (No worries, Mommy was right there supervising!)

CAS is All I Can Do

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the weekend at last and maybe some sunny weather!  My mojo has taken a vacation and all I can seem to come up with lately are CAS cards...not that that's bad, but I just can't seem to get into making more complex creations!  SO, I have two cards today, the first is the card I made for all the men's birthdays at my church for the month of April, and I used the sketch from FMS:

I was sad that Guy Greetings was being retired; it was my go-to masculine set!  I love the images and the font, so I decided to ink it up in some Tranquil Tide ink to coordinate with the True Gentlemen DSP:

It was easy to fussy-cut the antique car:

and since I was using my Stamparatus, I was able to stamp the sentiments fairly quickly with the moveable plate:

I had six to do, and it was a little "wobbly" by the time I did the sixth one, but it still worked fine!  I just had to cut them into strips!

My next card is for the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch:

At church I saw a lady carrying a black polka-dotted tote bag with a strap that I can only describe as Crisp Cantaloupe! It was so cute! Since we don't have that color any longer, I used Peekaboo Peach along with some DSP from the Pick A Pattern line to make a congrats card to a new recruit:

I stamped the horizontal piece with the retiring Brushstrokes background stamp on the diagonal for a little additional interest.  I hope the lighter orange shade doesn't make this look too "Halloween-ish", LOL!  I fussy-cut the flower from Painted Harvest and added a sentiment from Colorful Seasons:

And on the inside, a sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet and another floral image:

Thanks for popping in today!

I don't have any Cassidy pictures today, but I thought I would share a picture of my dad holding his newest great-grandson, Sawyer, on Easter:

He was quite content to sleep in Great-granddaddy's arms!!  And notice the EAGLES green pacifier, LOL!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
