AHSC680 Thank You

Happy Monday, all! Hope you had a nice weekend!  Our Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week is an interesting one; gave me a chance to use some new goodies as well as some older ones!  Here's the sketch:

I was looking forward to playing with some new DSPs that will be live in a couple of days; this one is from Bloom Boutique.  I paired it with some diecut Pierced Blooms flowers and an embossed sentiment from Trusty Tools:

Bloom Boutique features the new In Colors Peaceful Pine and returning Crisp Cantaloupe, and I diecut some strips, adhered them next to each other and glued them to a Basic White mat.  The vertical panel was embossed with the Lovely Strips embossing folder, and I added some sequins for fun.  The flowers were mounted on a stitched oval diecut with a Crisp Cantaloupe scallop border:

This sketch is a great one to use up some of those smaller pieces of DSP we all have lying around, so I hope to see some fun creations in the gallery this week!  Be sure to pop over to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch blog and check out what the other designers have done!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CH#124 Nephew's Birthday

Hello, all!  Happy Saturday! I feel like it's been ages since I posted! I hope you all had a great New Year's holiday!  I am slowly getting back into my craft room after the Christmas decor clean-up!  Now my craft room needs a clean-up, LOL!  I did manage to make one card for my nephew who will be turning 40 in a few days!  I used Bonnie's color challenge from Color Hues:

Since he has his own construction company, I chose Trusty Tools to create his card:

I used Smoky Slate and Basic Gray cardstocks for the background; stamped, diecut and colored the hammer, then added the balloons using the retired Balloon punch and retired Little Numbers dies:

A sentiment from Best Family Ever went on the front:

and also on the inside, along with another sentiment from Best Year.  Hope he likes it!

Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!

CASC&S560 Happy Father's Day

Happy Thursday, all! I have a fun little Father's Day card today and it uses the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I pulled out some old My Favorite Things dies and went to work:

My card is a 4 1/4" square Very Vanilla, and I used the dies from Trusty Tools to create the "boards" for the four squares from Pecan Pie cardstock.  Each of the tools was diecut from retired Brushed Silver cardstock, then layered with a colored cardstock handle:

The sentiment is also from Trusty Tools, and the inside sentiment is from Layers of Beauty, and I embellished it with some nuts and bolts!!!

I haven't done a masculine card for a while, so this was fun and now I have a card for a certain guy I know!  Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC330 Happy Father's Day

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a masculine card today; it uses the sketch from Sunday Stamps, Let's Go Fishing DSP and a couple of masculine stamp sets.  First, the sketch:

And here we go:

One of my club projects this month uses these papers, so I created this with some of the leftover scraps!  A few layers, a few diecuts and it was done.  I did stamp a fishing lure from Gone Fishing, and the sentiment is from Trusty Tools

I added a little metallic brad just for fun!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC328 Tool Time Birthday

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope your weekend went well! I am using the Sunday Stamps sketch today for a birthday card for my nephew, who is turning 30! Yikes! I remember when he was born; we were having one of the worst cold spells I can remember; the roads and driveways were covered with ice and snow for days and days!  Anyway, here's the sketch:

Since he is definitely a mechanically-inclined guy, of course I had to use the Trusty Tools and Trusty Toolbox stamps and papers for his card:

Sometimes I get hung up and limit myself to using only the colors in the DSP, but I strayed here and went with an Azure Afternoon color theme, along with Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry.  Brad does have a BIG blue Ford tractor, so that diamond-plate embossed background piece is a nod to that!  I stamped and diecut the tools, then mounted them on top of three circles from the DSP.  I added a little sentiment from the retired Teeny Tiny Wishes to the wrench:

On the inside, I used a die and stamps from the Hooray for Surprises set; you pull the little tab and there is a sentiment under the circle.  It's a little tricky to get it lined up, but I made a trial run with some scrap supplies, and I think I got it right--we'll see!!  I did also add the numbers, diecut from Little Numbers, in Brushed Silver cardstock:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Such a Lazy Stamper

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I have been a lazy stamper the last couple of days....plus it snowed overnight (first in over 700 days, LOL) so I have been in that "snow day" kind of mood. So the cards I am sharing are ones I made last week....no challenges, just some fun stamping in my craft room!

Today is Wayne's birthday, and I know that he is chomping at the bit (or the pole, or the lure, or whatever it is that fishermen chomp at) to go fishing! He got lots of fishing goodies for Christmas, so I decided to make him a fishing-themed card for his birthday, using the Gone Fishing bundle:

It's all just stamping, diecutting and layering on a Mossy Meadow card base; the sentiments are from Biggest Wish and the retired Endless Birthday Wishes.  I went a little overboard on the inside:

I used some more of the Let's Go Fishing DSP as well as sentiments from the Trusty Tools and Best Family Ever sets.

My next card is a CASE from Lori Heiling...hers is much cuter; you can see it HERE.  I made mine a bit simpler, and used different stamps and paper.  Who remembers the Etch-a-Sketch?  Lori is so clever!

I added an acetate "window" on my Etch-a-Sketch (wouldn't a shaker card with gray glitter be fun too??) and put it on a wobbler mechanism so you can really SHAKE it!!!

My sentiment is from Super Cool and the stars are cut using the Give It A Whirl dies....a hidden gem that I don't use enough!  On the inside, I added a few more stars, a sentiment from Throughout the Year and the soda image from Super Cool as well:

So fun, I can't wait to mail this out to someone of a certain age, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS617 Tooled Birthday

Happy Friday! Yay, it's the weekend already!  The sketch at FMS, with its three elements, gave me a chance to use the new Trusty Tools bundle!  Here's Narelle's sketch:

I have two nephews with birthdays this month and they both are very construction-minded!  If you find masculine cards challenging, this bundle is definitely for you!  So here's my card:

I stamped the wrench, hammer and tape measure on Basic White cardstock and used the coordinating stamps to fill in the colors.  The un-colored portions I filled in loosely with ink and an aquapainter:

The background is Copper Clay, diecut with the pegboard die, and I threw around a few screws and bolts!  The birthday sentiment is a retired Paper Pumpkin.

The inside sentiment is from Charming Sentiments; I stamped it crookedly, so I restamped it on a panel diecut with the Deckle Edge Rectangle dies, and added a retired Woodgrain background to keep in with the carpentry theme!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
