Warm Wishes

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I finally got around to making a card with some scraps that had been loitering on my desk since Christmas!  Dana had some really cute wrapping paper and she saved some scraps for me and this little snowman was begging to be put on a Christmas card:

I had the DSP on my desk as well, but the trees were white, and they looked a little stark with my Basic Beige card base, so I brayered on some Crumb Cake ink to give it more of a vintage look.  I embossed a panel with a snowflake embossing folder, then added Mr Snowman with some snowflakes and a sentiment from the retired Winter Wishes:

You can't see it, but the snowflakes have some pretty Wink of Stella on them to make them glitter!  A sentiment from the retired Peaceful Season went on the inside:

I thought this would be appropriate for the Peace on Earth Christmas challenge for February:

Naturally, I chose that sweet little snowman as my inspiration!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC665 Holiday Snowflake

Happy Monday, peeps! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge! It's a fun one, with lots of layers:

I really loved the inspiration photo from Inspired By this week, so I used that for my colors and theme:

And here we go:

I have to admit that this card took me WAY longer than it should have---I just have so many products from which to choose, LOL! I started with an Almost Amethyst card base--anyone else remember THAT color?  What a pretty shade of purple it is!  I added a snowy embossed panel and a Pool Party strip that was stamped with the Buffalo Check in Craft White ink---subtle, but it's there!  The snowflake was diecut from some white glimmer paper, and I added some other purple glimmer snowflakes:

The sentiment banner is from Spellbinders; I also added some Smoky Slate pearls.  The inside sentiment was stamped in Smoky Slate as well, and I adhered a few leftover snowflakes:

There are tons of possibilities for which you could use this layout!  I hope you have fun with it!  Be sure to share your creation with us at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch blog!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP768 Blue Christmas

Happy Sunday, stamping friends! This week is the first week back for the Paper Players, and I am the hostess with a lovely wintery color challenge for you!  You could use this for a Christmas card, as I did, but I think the colors would be good for a masculine card as well, especially since there are some new "gear" stamps and dies in the new mini catalog!  Here we go:

As I said, I chose to make a Christmas card with a relatively new-to-me die from Spellbinders called Barn Star!  Here we go:

The star was diecut from Misty Moonlight cardstock, and I added a Night of Navy bow and silver glimmer accents.  I also added a white glimmer oval underneath, and mounted it all on a panel of Basic White, embossed with a Spellbinder's embossing folder called Scattered Christmas.  I used the sketch from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, but sadly missed the deadline.

My sentiment banner is from The Greetery; the inside sentiment is from Peaceful Season, both stamped in Night of Navy ink:

I am happy to be adding another Christmas card to my stash for 2026!  I hope that you'll come play with my colors this week at the Paper Players, and share your creation with us over at the blog! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS717 O Christmas Tree

Hello there, stamping friends! I feel like I haven't been in my craft room for AGES.  I have almost run out of Christmas cards and John keeps asking me, "Did you send one to so-and-so?", and I have to go make a couple more!  I finally made one just for craftiness' sake using Narelle's sketch at FMS:

I still had a couple cards left from the Christmas Greetings Mix & Match Specialty Cards, and I got a couple pre-Christmas gifts to myself, so I put them all to use:

I got a sweet set from Unity called Holly Jolly Holiday--just adorable!  I stamped the tree on Thick Basic White cardstock in Garden Green ink, but before removing it from my Misti, I cleaned my stamp and inked it up again with Versamark and stamped right over top of the image.  I then heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder and watercolored it in with Soft Sea Foam ink:

The embossing really keeps everything neat and tidy with no ink bleeding into the image! I fussy-cut it and mounted it on a Basic White panel that was embossed with a snowflake EF, then added a sentiment from Pine Tree Trimmings, inked and embossed the same way.  A simple gold foil panel matched the gold lines in the plaid!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the retired Peaceful Season stamp set:

Thanks so much for popping in today! Off to make some goodies for a little dinner we've having tomorrow for my TOPS ladies!  Hopefully I won't go too far over my calories--it IS the holidays, after all!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC658 Brightly Shining

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week is a lovely one, as usual:

I had some pretty papers from Thoughtful Journey sitting on my desk, and I thought they would make a pretty Christmas card, so here we go:

I wanted to use this sentiment from Night Divine, so I stamped it in some Pretty Peacock ink on a diecut panel and added some crinkly seam binding in a shabby-chic bow that just happened to match perfectly.  I embossed another panel with a star embossing folder and assembled it all together, along with some star sequins:

A sentiment from Peaceful Season went on the inside:

I just realized I didn't put any little doodads in the four corners, so I hope they'll not kick me out, LOL!  And I hope you'll play along with our sketch challenge this year at Atlantic Hearts! Can't wait to see your creations!

Sending Holiday Cheer

Hey there, peeps, I am squeaking in another card today because I've been trying to make a Christmas card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown for days now and it ends tomorrow!  SO....here's the challenge:

Now I admit that my red and green hues are not exactly the ones pictured above, but they are still red and green!  Here we go:

My little warm hat and mittens are from an old W+9 set called Holiday Cheer; I stamped them in Soft Succulent and Merry Merlot inks and diecut them with the matching die.  Some older DSP provided a holiday background, and the Tim Holtz embossing folder added to the alpine flair!

A sentiment from SU's Peaceful Season finished it off on the inside:

And since I am using some "winter warmers", I am also entering this at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge:

Another fun holiday card to add to my stash!  Thanks again for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

Love & Joy Christmas Shaker

Happy Friday, peeps! A quick post as I am hosting a ladies luncheon today to celebrate a dear friend's birthday! And it's a surprise!  So let's go!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge is a shaker card, and as much as I love them, they're always a challenge to me!

I thought the new Flip Flap window envelopes that are used for scrapbooking might be a fun choice to use for the shaker portion, so I gave it a try. So here we go:

I started by diecutting a tree from a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock, then embossing the panel with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder. I used a piece of Mintay's Merry Little Christmas paper in a snowflake pattern to insert inside one of the top-loading Flip Flaps and filled it with sequins.  I trimmed the adhesive flap so that it would adhere on the inside of the pocket and attached it to the back of the card front.  Of course, no matter what you use to hold your sequins, gravity insists that they collect at the bottom of your card, LOL!  I added a glimmer star at the top, and everything went on a Soft Sky card base with a little sentiment from Greetings of the Season:

And on the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Peaceful Season:

It does look nice when you shake it, but you'll have to take my word for it!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC620 Pink & Gray Christmas

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I've made another Christmas card using the most recent Atlantic Hearts sketch:

And I used the color palette from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown:

And here we go:

Did you ever have an idea for a card, then when you were finished, thought to yourself that maybe those elements put together wasn't such a good idea? This was one of those cards!  I think the diecut snowflakes were just a wee bit too much, or maybe it's the glittery Christmas sentiment!  Anyway, I had already put a lot of effort into it, so I just went with it!  I used Pirouette Pink and Smoky Slate for my main colors; the snowflake paper is from Mintay.  The white panel is embossed with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder.  I used a retired SU die for the snowflake border, embellishing it with some metallic pearls.  The sentiments are from the Peaceful Season bundle and Greetings of the Season:

The inside was also from Greetings of the Season:

It's still a lovely sketch and I may try to create something different with it later, LOL!  But at least I have another card for my Christmas stash!  I hope you'll play along too and share your creation with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

PP719 Color Challenge from Ann

Happy Sunday, stampers! Today is our last Paper Players challenge of the year, with Ann as our hostess, and she has a wonderful color palette for us:

What a great way to end our holiday stamping, right?!  I just had to go with the retired Poinsettia Petals set, embossed in gold, with some Pretty Peacock accents:

I remembered some gold-printed DSP from waaaay back so I pulled that out for a background panel, and I also used the retired Pine Bough embossing folder as well:

The sentiment is from the same poinsettia set, but I mounted it on a banner from the Peaceful Season set, and added some gold pearls for accent.  The inside sentiment is from Greetings of the Season:

Of course, I had another idea in mind, so I made a second card, similar layout, using the Christmas Labels set and a diecut bell:

And a little sentiment from Lil'Inkers, which is where the bell is from as well, for in the inside:

I hope you'll come play along with our last challenge of the season, and share your color-filled creation wtih us at the Paper Players! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TGIF498 Fragrant Forest

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I am squeaking in a card for the TGIF498 sketch challenge:

At our club meeting on Monday, we used the Fragrant Forest background stamp.  I think background stamps can be a bit intimidating, but with a little practice, a stamp positioner and maybe a sticky mat, you can create some pretty awesome backgrounds!  Here's the card we made:

We used Lost Lagoon ink and the Peaceful Season stamp set.  I had another blank panel stamped, but not adhered to a card, so I decided to cut out part of it with a circle die and use it for the TGIF sketch:

I used some retired Soft Glimmer papers in Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock for the horizontal pieces and the scalloped mat, then added another sentiment from Peaceful Season.  I also added an embossed panel (Snowflake Sky).

Here's the inside:

These trees are so pretty!  Thanks for popping in today!

My brother sent me this photo from my dad's field:

Pretty awesome!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASC&S548 x Two

Happy Monday, peeps!  Today is stamp club but I just had to share a couple of cards I made over the weekend!  First, let me say that the stamping community is so wonderful; if you give other stampers their due credit, you usually can "borrow" their ideas and make them your own!  Amanda Mertz at Did You Stamp Today? is one of my favorite stampers and she had a card recently that I thought I would CASE (Copy And Share Everything) with a current color challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches:

You can see her card HERE. I wanted to re-create that card using the above colors, and here's my take on it:

I used the Iconic Imagery set, punches and dies, and the challenge colors.  I love it, but it wasn't quite clean and simple enough for me to enter, in my opinion!

And here's the inside:

SO, I went back to the drawing board to make a new card!  This time I used Golden Greenery and Peaceful Season in the challenge colors, along with the Birch Wood embossing folder:

I finally mastered a trick to get these double die-cuts to line up easily (maybe I'll share that in a later post):

And here's the inside:

But that's not the end of the story!  Yesterday, Amanda posted THIS card on her blog; a little bit different than my card, but we were on the same wave length for sure.  And honestly, I made this card before seeing hers!  Anyway, I think my second card is sufficiently CAS for the challenge, so in it goes!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
