PCCCS170, JUGS319 and STB

DSCF2922

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Taking a break from Christmas cards and squeezing in a couple of challenges today with a birthday card!  Seize the Birthday is an “anything goes” challenge, Paper Craft Crew Challenge has this sketch:

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 170. #papercraftcrew #cardsketch

and the trend week at Just Us Girls is watercoloring:

So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Cheer All Year Paper Pumpkin Birthday

I dampened a piece of watercolor paper and lightly dabbled on some Lost Lagoon ink.  I pulled some papers from the Pretty Petals stack for my banners, then stamped the feathers from Cheer All Year for the focal point.

A Paper Pumpkin birthday sentiment stamped in Basic Black was bold enough to work against the watercolored background.  I also added a few sequins from my stash, added some black glimmer paper elements,  and speckled some color on with a wet paintbrush.  My sentiment inside is from Cottage Greetings and I stamped another feather as well:

It’s off to the mailbox this card goes!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy went to her friend Gabby’s birthday party on the weekend.  Gabby is all about glam and glitz….Cassidy?  Well, she apparently hasn’t given up Halloween yet, LOL!

Seize the Birthday Wish Big

DSCF0763-001

Hi everyone!  We made it to Wednesday!  I have a very simple card today, a birthday card for my nephew and I am using the Seize the Birthday challenge of using chevrons.  This is a unabashed CASE of this card by Brenda, which I absolutely adored!!!  I found some chevron paper in the Fresh Prints pack, and I used a retired SU set called Word Play, along with the car from Rev up the Fun:

I added a little additional chevron from the Tasteful Trim die, and it was done!  Nice and easy!!!

Seize the Birthday with Texture

DSCF8723

Happy Friday, peeps!  The end of the week is finally here!  I was intrigued by the Seize the Birthday challenge this week:  Texture!

I had made this card a couple weeks ago for another challenge but ended up going in a different direction, so this was just sitting on my desk, lost and challenge-less…..but I think it fits for the STB just fine:

This is for my dad’s birthday; he loves to travel and goes to auctions and sales a lot, checking out old planes and plumb bobs and other sundry things!  The Alphabet Press embossing folder was used on the Smoky Slate card, and then I randomly stamped images from Artistic Outpost’s Route 66 stamp set in shades of Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Stazon Black.  I also used SU’s retired Define Your Life and Timeless Type die-cut letters:

I finished it off with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Cassidy and I took a walk couple of days ago to feed the horses and the donkey that live down the road.  She was quite upset because she said the donkey’s nose was running…and did I have a tissue?

Yep, you guessed it….she “blew” the donkey’s nose!!!  And he let her do it, too!  Enjoy your day!

STB20

DSCF6147

Happy Friday, peeps! Yesterday was such a lovely day, so much like a vacation, I totally forgot to set up my post!  Love, love, love the sketch from Seize the Birthday for this week:

Again, some lovely papers from MME along with some retired SU stamps take center stage:

I added a little clear get topper to an image I stamped in white, then stamped over top in Pink Passion to imitate the floral image on the paper:

Now if I could just keep my fingerprints off the sticky part, I’d be okay!  If you need info on anything, shoot me an email!   Have a glorious day!

STB19 and LRW189

DSCF5805

Ah, it’s Friday, peeps!  The end of the week…it’s been a long one!  I liked the Seize the Birthday sketch Lesley had this week, so I made two!

I have a plethora of 6x6 pads in a myriad of colors and prints, so I thought I’d better dig into some!  The challenge this week at Little Red Wagon is to use at least three prints on your card—not hard to do for me!  The first one is my favorite, a pretty blue one with a vintage feel:

DSCF5802

The little montage is just part of the paper---I trimmed it down, mounted it on a piece of burlap and added some ribbon.  I just love that bird!

DSCF5806

The little sentiment is from A Fitting Occasion; burlap was from my stash.

The next one uses a felt flower I made, and I actually sewed all the panels before adhering my center panel.  I sewed a wee bit on the flower too:

DSCF5799

I like this one, but I think the colors are a bit more subdued….maybe it’s that gray that holds it back!  The sentiment on this one is from Papertrey.  All papers are from MME:  Lost & Found 3, Oliver: Lost & Found 2, Blush, and The Sweetest Thing, Honey.

What can we see with the binoculars?

How about Grampy?

Happy Friday, peeps!  Woohoo!  The weekend is almost here!  Here’s a happy little card for three challenges:
I got a card in the mail yesterday from Weight Watchers, asking me to come back (how did they know?), but I thought it was cuter recycled as DP on my card today!!!!  What do you think:
DSCF4982
Fun, huh?  The blue doesn’t quite match, but it was close enough!  I used some Unity stamps along with the little lady bugs from Itty Bitties:
DSCF4985
Such fun, bright colors!!!  It makes me smile!  Now I am off to mow!  Have a great day!
Cassidy was lining up all her FP people and she told me they were going for a walk!

DSCF4958
If you look very closely, you might be able to see that Mary (mother of Jesus from the Nativity set) is pushing the baby stroller with the baby  in it!  Too cute!

Seize the Birthday 16

DSCF4755

I feel like this is a repeat of yesterday’s post, with blue and yellow playing starring roles!  It is a cheerful color combo, but today’s cards feature the Seize the Birthday sketch:

This happens to be MY personal favorite go-to sketch of all time!  If I am in a hurry and need a card, you can bet this is the layout I’ll use!  A couple of coordinating DPs, a focal image, maybe some ribbon, and I’m good to go!  Today I broke out my new Garden Gingham paper along with a new set called Label Love, which will be in the upcoming catalog, as well as a retiring set, Decorate a Daisy:

DSCF4762

While I was cutting my paper, I figured I might as well make two!  Same design, a few little changes to each one.  The first one uses Label Love with the coordinating punch, and I also diecut some banners to place behind it:

DSCF4757

I love the vintage look of this stamp, as well as the country feel to the paper!! Makes me smile!

DSCF4761

The next one uses Decorate a Daisy along with some ruffled ribbon, a large flower punch and a bit of embossing, as well as a Daffodil Delight mat on the front:

DSCF4760

I also added a sentiment from Fabulous Phrases, and embellished it with some pearls!  What a great sketch, I love it!  Thanks for visiting today!

STB11 and Some Easter Cards

DSCF3584

Happy Saturday, peeps!  What a week!  I am trying to clean up layers of drywall dust as we do some updating to my craft room!  My mojo level has gone done in direct proportion to the increased amount of dust and cleaning I have to do!  But the end result will be worth it…I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!  Anyway, I had a few minutes to stamp yesterday and since I never have enough masculine birthday cards, I snapped up the chance to use the recent Seize the Birthday challenge:

I pulled out some cool Echo Park papers and used my new A Round Array stamp set, along with the Designer Typeset clear stamp set:

DSCF3583

These papers are so fun, they do most of the work!  I did stamp and cut out the banners, stamped the “HB”, punched it out and adhered it to the little scallop.  Fun & easy!

DSCF3585

I also wanted to share with you some pretty Easter cards I received!  This sweet one is from my friend and downline, Penny:

This one is from my talented friend, Linda, whose blog I dearly miss:

and this beautifully simple one from my other friend and downline, Shawn:
